ONLINE DEFECT TRACKING SYSTEM FOR SOFTWARE

ABSTRACT:
This project is aimed at developing an online defect tracking system useful for
applications developed in an organization. Operational efficiency System of Complete
Production Management System is a web based application that can be accessed throughout
the organization. This system can be used for logging defects against an application/module,
assigning defects to individuals and tracking the defects to resolution. There are features like
email notifications, user maintenance, user access control, report generators etc in this
system. User maintenance: Creating, Granting & Revoking access and deleting users from
application. Component Maintenance: Creating a component, Granting & Revoking access
on components to Users and Marking a component as Active or Closed. Defect Tracking:
Assigning defects to developer, providing resolving facility, closing the defect. The project
manager has the options to access user information, project information, assign information,
report, self details. The project manager will access the project information. A developer can
view all his assigned projects. It displays the project name, project id, assigned date, expected
date of completion. The tester can view the assigned projects and track defects in the assigned
projects. Merit of this project is to Keep track of the users who are assigned to issues. Provide
a knowledge base so that new members can understand the procedures when a similar issue is
raised. Generate MIS reports which can be used for performance appraisal of employees.
Management can provide automated response system for end users.
