Formation: Single, standing

Dem bones, dem bones, dem dancing bones (Skeleton dance)


Dem bones, dem bones, dem dancing bones (Skeleton dance to the right)
Dem bones, dem bones, dem dancing bones (Skeleton dance to the left)
Doin the skeleton dance (Skeleton dance)
The foot bones connected to the leg bone (Point to foot, then leg)
The leg bones connected to the knee bone (Point to leg, then knee)
The knee bones connected to the thigh bone (Point to knee, then thigh)
Doin the skeleton dance (Skeleton dance)
The thigh bones connected to the hip bone (Point to thigh, then hip)
The thigh bones connected to the backbone (Point to hip, then back)
The backbones connected to the neck bone (Point to back, then neck)
Doin the skeleton dance (Skeleton dance)
Shake your hands to the left
Shake your hands to the right
Put your hands in the air
Put your hands out of sight (hide hands behind back)
Shake your hands to the left

1. Motor learning- students in Wisconsin will recognize, understand, and
demonstrate movement elements and skills in dance.
2. Kinesthetic awareness- students in Wisconsin will use the body as an
instrument of expression and use movement as the medium to develop
kinesthetic awareness.
3. Choreography- Students in Wisconsin will create movement compositions
based on choreographic principles, processes, and forms.
4. Appreciation- students in Wisconsin will reflect upon and appreciate
dance as an art form past and present.
5. Making connections- students in Wisconsin will dance to build bridges to
other disciplines and cultures.

Extensions/ Teaching Tips


Teach the body parts first. Teach left and right next. Allow students to be creative
while dancing during skeleton dance.
