Chute Dia Calculation

The document describes a formula for calculating the minimum cross-sectional area of a chute based on the volume flow rate, velocity, and whether the material is powdery or lumpy. It provides an example calculation where the given volume flow rate is 300 tons/hour, density is 1.4 tons/cubic meter, velocity is 1 meter/second, the material is clinker (lumpy), and the filling percentage is 50%. The calculated minimum cross-sectional area is 0.119 square meters.

Chute Diameter Calculation

NOTE:
The minimum free area of a chute should be calculated on the
basis of a velocity of 1 m/sec, and the chute being 25% full for
powdery material and 50% full for lumpy material:
FORMULA :

A=

Q*100
3600 * V *F

(m)

where:
Q = Volume flow rate (m/h)
v = Velocity (m/s)
A = Cross-sectional area (m)
F = Filling percent
