SUBJECT: SPECIAL TRANSMISSION FLUID REQUIREMENT

APPLIED VEHICLES: All Nissan Models Equipped with Continuously Variable


Transmission (CVT/eCVT)

SERVICE INFORMATION
If the CVT/eCVT transmission in any Nissan Model requires service, a special type of
transmission fluid MUST be used. The required fluid for all CVT-equipped Nissan
models (except Altima Hybrid) is Nissan CVT Fluid NS-2. Altima Hybrid Electric vehicles
utilize a unique eCVT transaxle and require Nissan Matic W fluid.

Nissan CVT/eCVT Fluid Requirements


! Nissan’s CVT/eCVT transmissions contain internal components that require the use of
the specified fluids only! See Part Number information below.
! Only the fluids described in this bulletin are specially formulated to meet the exacting
requirements of the continuously variable transmissions in Nissan vehicles.

CAUTION:
! DO NOT USE any other A/T fluid for these transmissions; Use only the fluid as
specified in this bulletin. DO NOT MIX with other fluids.
! Use of any other automatic transmission fluid, such as Nissan Matic D, J, or S will
damage the CVT/eCVT.
! Damage to a CVT/eCVT caused by the use of any fluid other than specified in this
bulletin, is not covered under the NISSAN warranty.

WARRANTY INFORMATION
NOTE: Nissan CVT Fluid NS-2 is the ONLY approved fluid for use in Nissan CVT
transmissions. Nissan Matic W is the ONLY approved fluid for use in Altima Hybrid eCVT
transaxles. A claim to Nissan for warranty, service contract, or goodwill repairs to the CVT or
eCVT transmission may be denied if proper fluids are not used as specified in this bulletin.
