A Method For Predicting The Effect of Piles On Slope Behaviour
In the past, piles have been used to increase slope stability in very soft clay (e.g. Broms, 1972) and to stabilise landslides by dowel action. Present design methods appear to be based upon limited empirical experience and relatively simple analytical techniques. This paper proposes a finite element technique for the analysis of the undrained behaviour of soil slopes reinforced by pile groups.
