Prezi

Begin by creating an account. You will find free accounts and educational accounts, so choose the account that best suits
your needs. To create an educational account, you will need to be able to access email. If you do not have access to
email, select a standard public free account and you can use yourname@mytempinbox.com as your email address.

Once you have an account and have logged in, you will be directed to your “dashboard” which will eventually display
your available presentations. You may see sample Prezis in your dashboard to begin with. This is simply so you can see
features of a well put together Prezi.

Click the box that says “New Prezi”. Title your Prezi; describe it; click New Prezi to begin creating.

The Prezi Bubble Tool:

On the left-hand side of the screen, you will find the Prezi bubble
tool. This tool allows you to add content to your Prezi and set up the
presentation once you have completed it.

To enter text into your Prezi, The Prezi tool needs to be on “Write”,
which is the center bubble and should be selected when you begin
your Prezi. Double-click anywhere on the screen to add text. Below
the text you type, you will see the three options for font style and
color. Above the text, you can select the text orientation (left-
aligned, centered, right-aligned, or justified). You can also use bullets
if you choose to. Clicking and dragging the arrows to the right of your
text allows you to compress or stretch the text box. When you have
your text entered and the other options as you choose, click off of
the text box (single-click anywhere on the screen).

The Insert bubble allows you to insert files (discussed later) and add shapes to your Prezi. In shapes, you can add arrows
(single click gives you a point; click and drag gives you an arrow), free-form lines, and highlights. To get back to the Write
bubble, click the blue semi-circle in the upper left-hand corner of the screen until you see the Write bubble.

The Frame bubble allows you to place brackets, a circle, or a box around the content you have in Prezi. Clicking and
dragging (once you have selected a frame) will allow you to see an outline of what you are framing. It is often a good
idea to send your frame behind a picture or text to make you presentation easier to set-up later. The hidden frame has
been added to allow you to keep items together (in your presentation) without the need of a bracket, circle, or box.

The Path frame is what sets up the presentation. It allows you to specify in what order you want to see specific parts of
your presentation. Once you have clicked on the Path bubble, all you need to do to put your presentation in order is click
on the items you wish to view in the order you wish them to be displayed. When you do so, a number in a circle will be
shown on each item. If you mess up, use Undo in the upper right-hand corner, or delete the path all together (from the
Path bubble).

The Colors bubble will allow you to change layouts. You can preview the layouts by clicking on each one. Keep in mind
that some of your items may shift when you change to a new layout. If you select another layout, you may need to
adjust the spacing of parts of your presentation. You can now create custom themes by using the theme wizard.
The Show bubble allows you to show your presentation. When you select show, the Prezi bubble tool will be removed
and presentation arrows will appear at the bottom right of your screen. Use these to navigate your presentation or
simply click on each item in your presentation to zoom into it. To end your presentation and get back to the Prezi bubble
tool, allow your mouse to hover in the upper left-hand corner of the screen until it returns.

Adding pictures, music, and sound files

Prezi will only work with certain file types. Music and movies must be FLV file types for Prezi to recognize them. You can
use Xilisoft file converter to convert a movie or sound file to FLV, then upload it using the Insert bubble. (search Google
for Xilisoft, download the file converter, search for your file, convert it and save it) Pictures must be JPG, PNG, or GIF.
You can open your image and save it as a JPG or you can print the image to a PDF file, which will also work. Open the
image on your computer. To save it as a new file type, click the save icon. Note the location, name the file, and change
“save type as” to JPEG. To print it as a PDF, click the print icon. Click next. On the next page, be sure the printer selected
is PDF File Maker. Click Next. Select Full Page Photo Print. Click Next. Note the location and file name in the save window
that is displayed. Upload the file to Prezi.

The Prezi Edit Tool:

To adjust the size/location of anything in Prezi, single-click on that item.

When you do this, the Prezi editing tool will appear.

The editing tool is comprised of three rings and each ring serves a
different purpose.

The center ring is used to move the item. Click and drag the center ring
to move the item to another location in your Prezi.

The middle ring is used to size the item. Clicking the middle ring and
pushing toward the center of the edit tool reduces the size of the item.
Clicking the middle ring and dragging out from the center of the edit tool
increases the size of the item.

The outer ring changes the rotation of the item. Clicking the outer ring
and dragging will rotate the item in the same direction you are dragging it. On the outer ring, you will notice a cross.
Click the cross to be able to delete an item, duplicate (copy), select other items (to move several things at one time),
bring the item forward (in front of another item), send the item back (behind another item), and find help.

Sharing your Prezi

When you need to share your Prezi, go to your dashboard. Click on the presentation you wish to share. Click the Share
icon below your Prezi workspace (looks like an envelope). Enter email address(es) of those with whom you wish to share
the presentation. Click Send Invitation.
