Evidence The Work: __Includes at least three pieces of evidence to support claims. Innovation The work: __Contains a specific and arguable thesis statement that responds to the prompt. __Thesis guides development of argument throughout essay. __ Works towards interpreting and analyzing the evidence (rather than summarizing or paraphrasing). __Works towards clearly connecting the evidence to the thesis statement.

Subject: Humanities
Collaboration The student: __Uses the rubric to guide the work. __Demonstrates the ability to work with others. __Demonstrates the ability to recognize the balance between collaboration and independence where appropriate. __Demonstrates focused and on-task behavior in class

Reflection The student: __Arrives to class on time, with all materials ready to learn (including planner). __Submits work that is his/her own that is done to the best of his/her ability.

__ Includes a clear thesis, __Provides appropriate introduction, multiple body context for evidence paragraphs, and conclusion (background information) __ Is well-organized. __Correctly cites evidence. __ Is free from spelling and grammatical errors and is written neatly and legibly. __Has proof of multiple drafts. __Introduces evidence smoothly. __Uses well-chosen, relevant evidence.

__Meets all mini and assignment deadlines. __Turns in their reflection sheet (8 pts).

__Demonstrates an understanding of how their actions effect the learning environment.

__Gives valuable feedback to a writing peer __Uses feedback to revise essay
