Grapevine Communication

Grapevine is an informal channel of communication in organizations that spreads information quickly throughout regardless of authority levels. It develops due to reasons like uncertainty during recessions when employees sense a need to exchange views as the formal channels may not allow it. Some advantages are that it rapidly carries information from employees to managers, allowing quick feedback. However, it also spreads partial and untrustworthy information as rumors rather than complete facts through official channels.
