Nokia Vision/Mission Statement

Our Vision A world where everyone can be connected. In 2015, 5 billion people always connected, and 100 fold more network traffic. Its a world of experiences, shared experiences.

Our Promise We help people feel close to what matters to them. One of our basic needs as human beings is the need to communicate and share. Our promise is to help fulfil this need, to help them feel close to what matters to them.

Our Approach 1. 2. 3. 4. Consumer understanding drives us. We observe first, then design. We act on our consumer insights. We take a very human approach to technology Simple. Reliable. Intuitive. Experiences to fall in love with.

Internet is our quest. Internet innovation, creativity, media and services will be available anytime, anywhere. Nokia wants to bring the best of internet to mobile.

Our Promise: We help people feel close to what matters to them, to fulfilling this promise, we aim to excel in this complex and challenging environment.

Nokias mission/vision statement analysis In analysing Nokias mission/vision statement Ill be using the 9 essential components of a Mission Statement as given to us in class [8]. These are as follows: Customers: Reading this statement it is obvious that Nokia is committed to its customers as it mentions how they will fulfil there needs (we help people feel close to what matters to them) , *9+ and the consumers will also have an input in this (We act on consumers insights) , *9+ Products or Services: From the statement its clear that intend on improving their products and services especially the internet (Internet is our quest) *9+.

Markets: Nokia knows that the mobile devices and services market is changing and is willing to change with it (Build new businesss) , *9+

Concern for Survival, Growth, and Profitability: Nokia knows that it needs to grow in order to survive and remain profitable. In business if you are standing still, you are going backwards.

Philosophy: When planning for a year, sow corn; when planning for a decade, plant trees; when planning for life, train and educate men"..*9+ This quote says a lot about Nokias philosophy, they are not about now but the future.

Self-Concept: In my opinion Nokias self concept is that its the leader in its class and will continue to be so with help of its customers.

Concern for Public Image: From reading of the statement, it doesnt mention how nokia feel about their public image but it is obvious that they care about their relationship with their customers as consumer understanding drives us *10+ .

Concern for Employees: Nokias corporate culture strives to ensure that working at Nokia is an experience which has a positive impact on the lives of its employees.
