Contoh Soalan Math

The document contains multiple math word problems and geometry questions across 12 sections. It asks the reader to: 1) Calculate the time a bus must start a journey to reach its destination on time, and the maximum time it could spend at an intermediate stop. 2) Construct various triangles given specific measurements. 3) Calculate totals masses, volumes, surface areas, and other geometric values. 4) Draw possible box bases and calculate their areas given perimeter and shape constraints. 5) Identify the most suitable box type for a store given space limitations. 6) Calculate the area of a triangle given information about a related semicircle and hexagon. 7) Draw lines of symmetry and rearrange composite shapes

Answer all questions. 1. (a) A non-stop journey from town A to town C took 2 hours and 20 minutes.

A bus travels from town A and stops at town B which is located between the two towns, for 25 minutes. The bus must reach town C by 5.20 p.m. (i) At what time should the bus start the journey if it has to reach town C on time? If the bus starts the journey at 2.15 p.m., what is the maximum time the bus could spend at town B?

(b) Figure 6 in the answer space shows a straight line AB.

(i)

Construct a triangle ABC beginning from the straight line AB such that BC = 9.4 cm and AC = 5.2 cm. Hence, construct the perpendicular line to the straight line BC which passes through the point A.

(ii)

(iii) Based on the figure drawn in (i) and (ii), measure the perpendicular distance between point A to the straight line BC. (Note: Set squares and protractors are not allowed for this question).

A company produces two types of boxes with quadrilateral bases. The properties of the boxes are as shown in Table 1.

(i)

Sketch three possible measurements for the base of type A box and one possible base of type B box, then calculate the area for each space.

(ii)

You are a shopkeeper. You decide to buy one type of the box to keep various stocks of goods in your shop. If you have a limited space to store the box, which type of box is the most suitable should you buy? Give a reason for your decision.

Figure 9 In Figure 9, RS is the diameter of the semicircle. The area of this 1 semicircle is the area of regular hexagon PQRSTU of sides 4 5 cm. If the area of triangle PST is 13 cm2, calculate the area of triangle PQR. (b)

Figure 10 shows a composite shape of two identical right-angled triangles. Given that the length of the base, a, of the triangle is half of the length of the hypotenuse, b. (i) (ii) Draw the line of symmetry, if any, for the shape. Rearrange the two shapes in Figure 10 to form three other composite shapes which has one line of symmetry each. Draw clearly the line of symmetry for each shape.
