Baggage Fees: Baggage Fees That Possibly Exceeds Weight And/or Dimension

Lufthansa charges fees for checked baggage that exceeds the free allowance in weight and/or dimensions. In economy class, fees range from EUR 50-150 for flights within Europe and EUR 100-300 for intercontinental flights depending on how much the bag exceeds the limits. Heavier and larger bags cost more. Business and first class have higher free weight allowances, but bags exceeding them are charged EUR 100-200 for European flights and EUR 200-300 for intercontinental flights. Additional fees are charged for extra bags beyond the standard allowance, and reduced fees of EUR 75/USD 100 apply for a second bag on certain routes from North America.
