ou know things are screwed when the sensible option is to have an Australian Sex Party in the Federal Senate. The new political party aims to provide a voice of reason in the Upper House during a time when Labor and Liberal are cloning each others policies and running scared of a four per cent voting block of Christian Right hardliners, refusing to take a stand on sexual issues, civil liberties and yawning holes in some social matters. Whos gonna stand up for your right to make your own decisions? Family First? Nick No Gambling Xenaphon? I dont think so. For 16 years, Fiona Patten has been at the forefront of the Eros Association, a national adult retail and entertainment industry group. Although Eros has had some success lobbying politicians, Patten has become increasingly disturbed by a real shift to the right [in politics] on a lot of social issues when the population is moving the other way. Last year, the Federal Governments proposal to filter the Internet provided Eros with incentive to act. Censorship was heading back 20 years, says Patten, who notes that magazines cant show the same things that were allowed 10 years ago. Senator Fielding (Family First) wanted to take it further, but when Nick Xenaphon added that he wanted gambling sites blocked, too, we realised that there are all these secret deals being done... Thats when we decided enough was enoughwell make our point politically. The filters proposed would, for instance, block any pictures equivalent to those found in Australian Penthouse Black Label, even if people uploaded such pictures of themselves. Any site selling Madonnas SEX book could be blacklisted, and the secondary filter would block the Australian Sex Partys own website simply for having sex in the URL.

sex rules?, Ill have you know that the majority of women tend to have their own code of conduct when it comes to sleeping with a new man for the first time. For example, a basic rule which a few of my girlfriends follow is that they would never have sex with a guy on a first date, no matter how much chemistry or attraction there may be. Personally, I never have one-night stands (well, not any more). However, when youre on holiday, the rules dont apply. Theres no dating or text-message game playingits just raw lust. I recently returned from a girls holiday and I broke my own ruleyes, I had a one-night stand. It had been years since Id fucked a guy I just met. You run the risk of really shit sex if you have a one-night stand. Often, the guy will come too quickly or not bother to make sure that you get off, so after a particularly bad fuck when I was 19 (it didnt last two minutes and he fell asleep straight after), I decided never to bother again. Since then, I make sure I go on at least a couple of dates before we bonk, so I can judge whether the guys selfish or not. That said, a girls-only holiday is a whole other ball game.
The reason the sex was so great was because I didnt care if he didnt call
So I broke my sex rule in Thailandand it was brilliant! In fact, it was the best one-night stand of my life. He made me orgasm. Twice. This rarely happens for me with a new partner. It was great because he wasnt selfish at allhe went down on me for ages, and he was so tender and gentle while licking my clit that my hips were bucking in no time. Then, all gentleness gone, he turned me around and fucked me hard from behind, sending me into another shuddering climax. The reason it was so great was because I was on holidayI didnt care if he didnt call.
I wasnt particularly concerned if he stayed the night. If Id met him at home, I wouldve been offended if he didnt ask for my number afterwards, but on holiday it doesnt matter because youre never going to see them again. Getting to the sex in the real world is a much more involved process and, as a woman, you dont want to come across as easy. Also, if you meet someone that you have chemistry with, theres the potential that it could develop into a relationship, which can easily complicate matters. This is unlikely on holiday, especially if youre from different countries, so you throw caution to the wind and have lots of fun, carefree bonking! Actually, Im pretty frisky at the moment maybe Ill abandon my sex rules altogether and get some cock this weekend?!
HOT TIP
Top Tip: Even when on holiday, I recommend staying the night; that way youre guaranteed sex in the morning as well!

DIVERSIONS PULP
By Dominic Cadden
The Government says theyll only block 10,000 sites, but I can tell you that there are a few more than 10,000 sites referencing sexually explicit material, says Patten. The Australian Sex Party (ASP) has a range of other policies, including the establishment of a uniform non-violent erotica rating for explicit adult material across all media in all states; placing sexual dysfunction drugs (i.e. Viagra) on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme; equal rights for gay, lesbian and transsexual couples; overturning restrictions on aid to overseas familyplanning organisations that reference abortion; and a system of paid maternity leave that is fair to small businesses. One of the more extreme (but perfectly logical) ASP policies calls for overseas sex

workers to be allowed to come to Australia on sponsorship visas no different to those that already exist for other professions. That would stop the illegal rackets and exploitation overnight, Patten says. If you have a legal, licensed and regulated business, you have a paper chain that ensures the protection, health and safety of this person. And there are jobs to be filled here, but no mainstream politician is going to say, Yes, lets change the visa system so Thai sex workers can have a job in our brothels. There is one goal thats even further away an equal number of men and women in the Senate. Its certainly the policy thats created

Other goals, although more feasible, seem to endanger the very existence of the Australian Sex Party. Wed like to review the tax-exempt status of religion (but not charities) and a Royal Commission into child sex abuse by the Church, says Patten. But if we do, theres the very real prospect that the Catholic Church will invest millions to make sure we dont get elected. Already the ASP faces an uphill battle against the Australian Christian Lobby and politicians bending over for the Christian Right over the simple goal of sex education in all secondary schools. People use the over-sexualisation of society as an argument against sex education,
but if kids are really being bombarded with sex, then that seems to be a bloody good reason to give them clear information about everything from body image to how an X-rated website is not reality, affirms Patten. Could the Australian Sex Party get elected? The name alone will leap out at the 15 per cent of Australians who dont know who they will vote for in the Senate on polling day. The party has also already gained strong support from an under-30s crowd who have never voted before or who are disillusioned by vanilla politicians. Were going to be a bit cheeky and do things differently. If we have to sell sex to raise funds for the party, I have no problem with that, says Patten. The ASP needs eight per cent of the primary vote to get electedyet The Porn Report, published last year by Melbourne University Press, shows that 30 per cent of adult Australians watch X-rated films. Patten believes the Party will find allies. Some senators will be pleased to have someone bring common sense to issues that get taken over by hysteriasuch as sex education and Internet filteringbecause a lot of them are too afraid to speak out. Theyre bullied in a most un-Christian way. Find out more at: www.sexparty.org.au
