1-Location
. It

is located in northwestern South America, bordered to the northwest by Panama; to the north by the Caribbean Sea; to the east by Venezuela[7] and Brazil;[8] to the south by Ecuador and Peru;[9] and to the west by the Pacific Ocean.

2-Area
The total area of Colombia is about 1,141,748 square kilometers.

3-Provinces.
Colombia), officially the Republic of Colombia ), is a unitary constitutional republic comprising thirty-two departments. Colombia is divided into thirty-two departments. These in turn are divided into municipalities, though some receive the special category of district. However, there are also provinces, a generic name applied to provinces, districts, regions and sub-regions. These are generally internal administrative authorities of the departments, more historical than legal. Most Colombian provinces have this kind of subdivision. Those that do not are the departments of Amazonas, Arauca, Caquet, Casanare, Choc, Guaina, Guaviare, Putumayo, San Andrs y Providencia, Vaups, and Vichada.
4-Capital.

Bogot , from 1991 to 2000 called Santaf de Bogot, is the capital, and largest city, of Colombia. It is also designated by the national constitution as the capital of the department of Cundinamarca, . Bogot is the most populous city in the country, with 7,363,782 inhabitants as of 2010. Bogot and its metropolitan area, which includes municipalities such as Cha, Cota, Soacha, Cajic and La Calera, had a population of around 8 million in 2010. In terms of land area, Bogot is the largest city in Colombia, and one of the biggest in Latin America.5-Official language. The official language is Spanish, although the new Constitution adopted in 1991, recognizes the languages of the various ethnic groups in the Colombian territory. 6-Population. The population of Colombia on January 1st 2012 is approximately 46,538,760.

The main currency is the Colombian peso. 8.Independence Day. The independence of Colombia was the historical process that allowed the emancipation of Colombia from the Spanish Empire, thus putting an end to the colonial period. Colombia was the first nation in Latin America to give his 'cry of independence' of July 20, 1810, after his release from the Spanish Empire. Juan Manuel Santos Caldern (born 10 August 1951) is a Colombian politician who has been the President of Colombia since 7 August 2010.[1] He previously served as Minister of Foreign Trade, Minister of Finance, and Minister of National Defense. The vice President of colombia is Angelino Garzn 10-Religion. 95% Of the Colombian population profess the Catholic Religion, there are also Jews and Protestants in minority.

11-Education. The educational experience of many Colombian children begins with attendance at a preschool academy until age five (Educacin preescolar). Basic education (Educacin bsica) is compulsory by law. It has two stages: Primary basic education (Educacin bsica primaria) which goes from first to fifth grade children from six to ten years old, and Secondary basic education (Educacin bsica secundaria), which goes from sixth to ninth grade. Basic education is followed by Middle vocational education (Educacin media vocacional) that comprises the tenth and eleventh grades. It may have different vocational training modalities or specialties (academic, technical, business, and so on.) according to the curriculum adopted by each school.

12-Music.

It is popularly recognized as the national rhythms bambuco (early twentieth century), the cumbia(mid-twentieth century) and vallenato (the late twentieth century, early XXI). A more traditional economic activity is the cultivation of coffee, one of the world's top exporters of this product. The most exploited minerals are gold, silver, emeralds, Platinum, nickel, copper and coal. One of the most important extractions is coal mine of the Cerrejn in La Guajira, which is Latin America's largest open-pit coal mine. Globally it is the leading producer of emeralds, focusing their exploitation in the interior of the country, in departments such as Boyac and Cundinamarca. the products that colombia matters are: -Wheat -Corn -Cake -Soybean oil -Aircraft -Helicopters -Cellular -Computers -TVs -Sound equipment among the products that colombia exports are: Oil -Coffee -Carbon -Banana -Flowers -Gold and their waste -T-shirts -Copper waste -Coil meat -Gasoline -Medications -Polypropylene -Crude palm oil

16-Typical Food: Colombia does not have a national dish, although very recognized the stew and the cornbread in its various forms. The most representative dishes include the ajiaco santafereo, the tray paisa (the main feature of this dish is the generous amount and variety of food in a traditional tray paisa: red beans cooked with pork, rice, ground beef, Slam, plantain (patacones), chorizo, fried egg, arepa, sauce hogao, morcilla (blood sausage), avocado and lemon.) this is one of the most famous of colombia.

17-Tourism: Cartagena de Indias. Their stories of pirates, its golden beaches, its architecture, its rumba and their meals, Cartagena is the favorite destination of travelers
