Assignment: Department of International Business

The document summarizes a survey of 30 students from the Faculty of Business Studies at the University of Dhaka regarding bank account usage. It finds that most students with bank accounts are between the ages of 24-36. Most students with bank accounts are male. All students use ATM cards to withdraw money rather than cheques because ATM cards make withdrawals easier. The document provides statistical analysis of the data including measures of central tendency, variation, and probability calculations.

10

I. Mean = X /n = 898/30 = 29.93

Mean= 29.93=30(approx)
I. Median = (n+1)/2 th data = 31/2 th data = 15.5 th data. The median is laid between 15 th
and 16th data
So, Arithmetic mean of 15th and 16th data = (29+29)/2 = 29
Median=29

11

II. When data set is unclassified then

Mean - Mode =3(Mean Median)
Or, 29.9-mode=3(29.93-29)
Or, 29.93+2.790=mode
Finally, mode=32.72
Mode=32.72=32 (approx)

b) Finding variation
I. Range = Xmax Xmin = 44 - 20 = 24
Range =24
II. Variance= (x-x) / n-1=1170.59/29=40.37
Variance=40.37
III. Standard deviation (S) = S=(x-x) / n-1= 40.37=6.35
Standard deviation (S) =6.35=6(approx)

IV. coefficient of variation =(S/X)*100%=(6.35/29.93)*100%=21.21%

Coefficient of variation = 21.21%

c) Finding shape
Mean=29.93

12

Median=29
Mean>median which indicates the data set is positive or right skew ness

Executive summery
From the survey on the department of international business we can take decision that most of the
students having bank account their age is from 24 to 36 because they do IPO business in stock
market. Most of them are male. All o them use ATM card because it is easy to wiredraw taka by
