WISC-IV Subtest Descriptions

The Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children – Fourth Edition (WISC-IV) is an individually administered test that assesses the cognitive abilities of children ages 6 years 6 months through 16 years 11 months. It consists of 10 core subtests measuring verbal comprehension, perceptual reasoning, working memory, and processing speed. A complete administration yields standard scores in these four composite areas as well as a Full Scale IQ score.
