Design Mix Example

The document describes the process for designing a concrete mix to achieve a target compressive strength of 30N/mm2 using the British method. It involves 5 stages: [1] determining the water-cement ratio to achieve strength, [2] determining water content for workability, [3] combining stages 1 and 2 to determine cement content, [4] determining total aggregate content, and [5] selecting fine and coarse aggregate contents. Tables 3.1-3.3 show the mix design requirements, calculations of concrete volume needed, and the final designed mix proportions.
