FINDINGS

Permanent output of hot air from the heating, RH side or LH side.


DIAGNOSIS
The drive toothing of the air distribution flap on the evaporator unit, RH side or LH side, is damaged.

AFTERAFTER-SALES REMEDY
Obtain from Replacement Parts a repair kit, Part No. 6450 XZ comprising :
2 plates (8)
2 pinions (10)
4 screws (3 - 5)

Remove :
The console trim on the LH side (1)
The trim under the steering column at "a"
The lower LH strip (2)

N.B. : Remove the knees airbag on the drivers side (according to the equipment on the vehicle).
Remove the glovebox (See the corresponding operation in Laser).
2. Remove

2.2.1. Left hand side

Disconnect the connector at "b".


Remove :
The bolts (3)
The reduction motor with mixer flap (4)

2.2.2. Right hand side


Disconnect the connector at "c".
Remove :
The bolts (5)
The reduction motor with mixer flap (6)
3. Refitting with the repair kit

2.3.1. Refit on the RH side and on the LH side

Remove the pinion (7) with the aid of a screwdriver.

Fit the reduction motor with mixer flap (4) on the plate (8).
Check :
The centring of the reduction motor with mixer flap (4)
The clipping of the reduction motor with mixer flap (d)

Fit the pinion 7) on the reduction motor with mixer flap.

Position the pinion of the mixer flap (9) anti-clockwise, as far as it will go.
Fit the joining pinion (10) in the pinion (9).

N.B. : The part at "e" of the pinion (10) is down when being inserted.

2.3.2. Left hand side


Position the assembly (4) and (8) on the joining pinion (10).
Fit the fixing screws (3).
Connect the connector at "b".

2.3.3. Right hand side


Position the assembly (6) and (8) on the joining pinion (10).

CAUTION : When positioning the assembly (6) and (8), check that the plate (8) is above the groove at

"f".

Fit the fixing screws (5).

Connect the connector at "c".


Check the operation of the mixer flaps reduction motors.
To reassemble, follow the dismantling sequence in the reverse order.

N.B. : Do not send any more incident reports (CRI) for this incident on C4 prior to RPO 10740 with
heating unit with white pinion.

Please inform us by Incident Reports (CRI) of any re-occurrence on C4 vehicles after RPO 10740.
