Siemens S5

1. This driver allows a Comsab II controller to communicate with Siemens PLCs of types S5 115U and 135U to read and write data from up to 14 compressors. It uses data blocks (DBs) in the PLC to specify the data points and values to transfer between the Comsab and each compressor unit. 2. DB100 in the PLC contains the number of read and write points for each compressor, identified by sequential numbers. Individual DBs like DB70-DB83 store the read/write configuration for each compressor. 3. The driver transfers data between designated registers in the Comsab and addresses in the PLC DBs to enable monitoring and

Comsab Driver for Siemens PLC Type S5

Hardware
Siemens PLC 115U, CPU 941, 942, 943
CP 523 card, 6ES5 523-3UA11

Please note:
for 135U the CPU 928B is used
for 115U the CP 523 card is used

+ RS232 insert module

Function
In DB100 is keyed in how many values that are wanted read/written in the connected
compressors. The compressors are keyed in succession: 1-2-3-4 etc. and no holes
must occur. Each compressor has its own DB (DB70 DB83). Here is keyed in the
wanted values to be read/written (HEX-number, see York Comsab II manual).
Further, the values that are wanted transferred to the compressor are keyed in.
