a cut through the plot acts as a passage that
brings pedestrians to the building and organizes the
architectural composition into two triangular volumes.

the A.R.K is located near one of the central squares of the city. The building is stocked with
old and unwanted objects or appliances by the public. The employees at A.R.K are
converting the incoming “waste” into useful products, which are thereafter
exhibited and sold. Seminars and general information about recycling, as well as workplaces and a library
with study space are offered by the A.R.K, which aims to open the way for recycling in Athens.

ACROPOLIS
CONCEPT
Plakart is a center of artistic creation. The aim was to integrate the
new building in the existing, historical, environment. In order to achieve
that, the
walking style of perceiving the area is in-
corporated into the architectural design of the
building. Pedestrians can pass through it, from one street to another
(A), or choose to walk on its roof (B) to the top from where they can

enjoy a view to Acropolis.

Keep it simple, keep it solar

The third generation photovoltaic cells that are placed on the cylindrical exterior ring are south oriented. They
collect solar energy and convert it to DC electricity and then through the inverter for DC to AC electricity.
The energy is stored in a battery and a programmable controller permits constant energy flow for the
charge of the modules, but to the main lighting part, the Sphere, only at night.
The cubic modules can be
placed in almost every site.
Crafted of polycarbonate,
they are nearly indestructible
and can last up to 10 hours.

Easy to be moved... and cabable of being placed on a table or hanged from its handle
