1. E-tickets can be booked up to 4 hours before departure of the train. For trains departing before 230 AM, charts are prepared the previous night. 2. The accommodation booked is not transferable and only one passenger booked on the e-ticket needs to present an original ID proof like voter ID, passport, etc. during travel or they will be treated as travelling without a ticket. 3. Users can print the ERS (Electronic Reservation Slip) and travel with one valid ID proof of the passenger. A nominal charge of Rs. 20/- may be charged if no ERS is presented during travel.

The provision for specifying I/D proof at the time of booking an e-ticket has been dispensed with. The
accommodation booked is not transferable and is valid only if one of the passenger booked on an e-ticket in
a transaction presents any of the five identity cards(Voter identity card/Passport/ Pan card/Driving
license/Photo I/d card of entral/!tate "overnment# in original d$ring train %o$rney and same will be
accepted as proof of identity failing which the passengers will be treated as travelling witho$t ticket and shall
be dealt with as per e&tant 'ailway '$les.
The $ser can take a printo$t of the (lectronic 'egistration !lip (('!# and perform the %o$rney)
d$ly carrying the a$thori*ed +riginal Identity ard of any one of the passenger travelling in the
P,' d$ring train %o$rney.
-or e-reservations-the ticket can be booked $p to the chart preparation time for the train.
(-Tickets ('eservations# can be cancelled only thro$gh Internet till hart preparation of the train
and it is not allowed at face to face 'ailway o$nters. If the $ser wishes to cancel his e-Ticket) he
can do so till the time of chart preparation for the train (which is normally . ho$rs before the
sched$led depart$re of the train from the train starting station# thro$gh the Internet. /e can log
on to www.irctc.co.in and go to 0ooked Tickets link and select the ticket to be cancelled and can
initiate the cancellation by selecting the passengers to be cancelled. ancellation wo$ld be
confirmed online and the ref$nd wo$ld be credited back to the acco$nt $sed for booking as for
normal Internet tickets. If there is any partial cancellation of ticket please ens$re that the modified
ticket ((lectronic 'eservation !lip# is printed separately.
In case the passenger travelling against e-Ticket is not carrying the printed copy of the
1(lectronic 'eservation !lip1 d$ring his/her %o$rney) a nominal charge of 's.23/- is chargeable by
the TT(/ ond$ctor "$ard in the train against an e&cess fare ticket.
-or any claims on (-tickets after the preparation of 'eservation charts) the $ser has to send an
email from the email ID mentioned in his profile at the earliest possible time to
etickets4irctc.co.in giving f$ll details of the ticket and stating the claim) which wo$ld then be
processed by I'T with the 'ailway administration offline and ref$nds as sanctioned by the
'ailway administration wo$ld be credited back to the $ser5s acco$nt.

Tatkal Tickets
Tatkal (-tickets can be booked two days in advance of the date of %o$rney
Tatkal e-ticket can be booked for selected trains two days in advance $pto chart preperation. (-
tickets can be booked on the opening day from 9.33 am onwards. eg- If - today is :st a$g$st)6rd
;$g$st will be the opening day. Ticket booking starts from 9 ;< for the opening day.-or %o$rney
on :st ;$g$st)=nd ;$g$st)(-ticket booking starts from 2 ;< onwards.
Tatkal 0ooking facility provides onfirmed / >aitlisted tickets (for (-Tickets only# against Tatkal
7$ota) in any class e&cept : ; )for %o$rney between so$rce/remote stations having Tatkal ?$ota
to destination
Tatkal I-Tickets cannot be booked. +nly Tatkal (-Tickets can be booked.
Tatkal charges per passenger in addition to normal ticket .
The Tatkal harges have been fi&ed as a percentage of fare at the rate of :3@ of basic fare for second
class and 63@ of basic fare for all other classes s$b%ect to minim$m and ma&im$m as given in the table
