FHWA Design For Soil-Nail Walls - SLD Method

This spreadsheet summarizes the design of a soil nail wall based on the FHWA Method. The wall is 40 feet tall with a vertical face and medium dense sandy soil parameters. Nails are 15 feet long and inclined at 10 degrees. Allowable nail loads are defined, including 26 kips tensile capacity and 17 kips for the nail head. Trial nail spacings are selected and tension is distributed along each nail. The upper cantilever is checked for shear and flexure adequacy.
