The Committee of Engineer-in-Chiefs (R&B) & Chief Engineers (R&B) met in the
Chambers of the Engineer-in-Chief (R&B), State Roads on 12-03-2012, 06-07-2012, 08-03-2013
& 10-04-2013 and discussed about the revision of rates of Sign Boards, Thermoplastic Paint and
other road safety items of the works pertaining to Road Safety interventions
The Committee finalized rates along with the conditions to be adopted in the tendering
process for obtaining the better quality.
The Committee has recommended the Sign Boards with Type IV Retro Reflective
Sheeting to be implemented in Rural Roads & MDRs & with Type XI Retro Reflective Sheeting
in all SH, NH, Black Spots, Junctions, Accident Prone areas of SH,NH and MDRs.
The Superintending Engineers are requested to adopt the complete specifications along
with the tender Conditions for all the works irrespective of the cost of the work under Road
Safety interventions category 2,3,4,5 & New Road Safety Products. They are also requested to
check measure minimum 25% of the value of the work. If any variations in the rates observed by
field staff, Superintending Engineers are requested to report the same to this office for reexamine.
