My Course is Grammar

I am a student majoring in English. In studying English I taught about grammar.

Grammar is a compulsory subject that should be studied by every student of English.
Lecturer in my class is Drs. Amri Isyam, M.Pd. Name of the course is grammar 3. This
course reviews the tenses which had been covered in grammar 1 and grammar 2, and
discusses adjective clauses, modals, passive voice, conditionals, gerunds and infinitives,
adverb clauses and noun clauses. It covers communicative exercises in oral and written
forms. This course is prerequisite for advances grammar, and the learners WHO may take it
are only Those who have passed the first grammar and grammar 2.
Grammar is the set of structural rules governing the composition of clauses, phrases, and
words in any given natural language. The term Also Refers to the study of Standard rules, and
this field includes morphology, syntax, and phonology, Often complemented by Phonetics,
semantics, and pragmatics.
The term grammar is Often used by non-linguists with a very broad meaning. However,
linguists use it in a much more specific sense. Speakers of a language have a set of
internalized rules for using that language. This is a grammar, and the vast majority of the
information in it is acquired-at least in the case of one's native language-not by conscious
study or instruction, but by observing other speakers; much of this work is done during
infancy. Learning a language later in life usually Involves a greater degree of explicit
instruction.
The term "grammar" can also be used to describe the rules that govern the linguistic
behavior of a group of speakers. The term "English grammar," therefore, may have Several
meanings. It may refer to the whole of English grammar-that is, to the grammars of all the
speakers of the language in the which case, the term encompasses a great deal of variation.
Alternatively, it may refer only to what is common to the grammars of all, or of the vast
majority of English speakers (Reviews such as subject-verb-object word order in simple
declarative sentences). Or it may refer to the rules of a particular, are relatively well-defined
variety of English (Reviews such as Standard English).
"An English grammar" is a specific description, study or analysis of Standard rules. A
reference book describing the grammar of a language is called a "reference grammar" or
simply "a grammar." A fully explicit grammar that exhaustively describes the grammatical
constructions of a language is called a descriptive grammar. This kind of linguistic
description contrasts with linguistic prescription, an attempt to discourage or suppress some

grammatical constructions, while promoting others. For example, the preposition stranding
Occurs in Germanic languages, Instant confirmation and has a long history in English. John
Dryden, however, objected to it (without explanation), leading other English speakers to
avoid the construction and discourage its use.
In studying grammar, there are several topics, namely: 1) introduction to the course, 2)
verbs and verb tense formation, 3) embedded Question., 4) Past Verb Forms: the simple past
tense; the simple past continuous tense., 5) reported speech, 6) capital auxiliaries of
possibility and probability, 7) the passive voice with continuous tense, 8) indefinite adjectives
and pronouns, 9) introduction to gerunds, 10) verbs Followed by either gerunds or infinitives,
11) adverb clause: past (1), past (2), future time, and introduction to adjective clauses, 12)
clause with that, when and where, 13) clause to phrase Reduction and 14) Perfect modal
auxiliaries. After teaching and learning activities, it is hoped that the learners are able to
understand and master each topic and sub topic of the lectures well and to apply them in real
communication wherever and whenever they should use English either in spoken or written
forms
