Rhetorical Analysis Essay

Martin Luther King Jr. was awarded the 1964 Nobel Peace Prize for his leadership of the American civil rights movement using nonviolent protest. When accepting the award in Oslo, Norway, King's speech had a somber tone as he argued that while progress had been made, much work still remained. King stressed that racial injustice was still a serious problem in America and around the world. Through rhetorical techniques like ethos, pathos, and logos, as well as literary devices such as personification, King challenged his global audience to continue the fight for equality and work towards global peace.
