Women & Work: Sectors Pathways Initiative

As part of the Women & Work: Sectors Pathways Initiative, which aims to raise recruitment levels in sectors where women are underrepresented, we are running a number of workshops designed for ALL women in the built environment sector. The initiative is in response to recommendations by the Women & Work Commission’s report ‘Shaping a Fairer Future’ and receives government funding, matched by employer contributions. All the workshops are Continuous Professional Development (CPD) certified and count towards 3 hours towards their annual CPD – with accompanying certificate. These events are aimed at women who work in all professions in the UK construction industry, from those in technical and/or professional roles, to those in administrative roles.

Women & Work: Sectors Pathways Initiative

Raising Skills and Unlocking Potential

Women in Construction Action Workshops

A greatly subsidised series of women in construction workshops for ALL
women who want to advance their careers in the construction industry.

The funding is heavily subsidised by the Women & Work: sector Pathways
Initiative. Therefore, each workshop worth £450 per person will only cost the
employer or individual £30 per person.

While nearly two million people in the UK work in the construction industry,
less than 200,000 - or around 10% - are women working in the industry.

The Women & Work: Sectors Pathways Initiative, aims to raise recruitment
levels in sectors where women are under represented, increase earning
potential and aid career progression. The initiative is in response to
recommendations by the Women & Work Commission’s report ‘Shaping a
Fairer Future’ and received government funding, matched by employer
contributions.
The development programme is aimed at all women wishing to develop a career in construction. The approach is
informal and highly participative with active discussion, exchange of ideas exercises and group work. Attendees
receive a huge discount and are priced at only £30 per workshop. Alternatively, women can register for V.I.P.
Membership for £100 only and receive access to an incredible 5 workshops over the registered 12 month period.

We also operate a ‘buddy scheme’, whereby paid attendees can be accompanied by a colleague for free. We only
stipulate that these ‘buddies’ are new and have not attended a Women in Construction workshop before. We can
also arrange an in-house training session if there are sufficient number of new women who have not attended a
Women in Construction workshop before.
