Norhamim S. Curo is my youngest son out of my ten (10) children.

This number
might be unusual in some societies but in our hometown, the number of children is
considered a symbol of wealth and status. His older brothers and sisters are Norhussien,
Norhassan, Norhamza, Norhasima, Norhazrin, Norhamdan, Norhazim, Norharim, then
Norhamim as the youngest son and then Norhashnie as the youngest daughter. Being the
youngest son, he has the usual characteristics of every bunso in the familyspoiled,
hot-tempered, moody, very demanding, bossy and very impatient. He is spoiled and hot
tempered because he easily gets angry when he does not get what he wants. When he
asks for something, he becomes so demanding that he will persistently ask for it over and
over again until he finally gets the thing he wants. If he does not get it, he cannot hide his
feelings of disgust and irritation. He shows them. Out of anger, he becomes like a volcano
ready to erupt at any moment. So every time we see him like that, we just let him be. We
know him as our bunso so we adjust to his temperament. We just try to be more patient
and wait until he pacifies. We just think that he is just a little kid so that must be the
reason why.
But that is just one thing about Norhamim. In our family, he is more known as the
clown in the family. He always tries to make the whole family laugh with his jokes and
stories. He is actually a very jolly person. He always smiles and laughs a lot. And he
always maintains a cheerful face every time he meets a new friend, a family member or
even a stranger. He is so friendly that he does not choose anybody to befriend. In our
hometown, he is the friend of everyone. Anyone he gets to meet becomes his friend
instantly.
He also has a deep concern for every family member. He worries every time a
family member is facing a difficulty. Although he does not say it, he sometimes shows it in
actions. He is so thoughtful and loving to each one of us. Though his father is very strict,
he still manages to make him laugh. And to his big brothers and sisters, he always shows
them his care and love. This is especially true in the case of his youngest sister
Norhashnie. They always fight like a cat and dog. But Norhamim, being a loving brother,
always gives way in the end. He just lets his sister win. He always stands as the good
brother and a protecting friend. He always makes sure that nobody will hurt his sister.
Otherwise, he will become their worst enemy.
Not only is he loving but he is also very thoughtful and malambing not only to
family members but also to his friends. One time, Norhamim, his siblings and their Tita
Ado went to Baguio City for a summer vacation. When they were about to go back home,
he remembered to buy some presents or pasalubong to a friend. We thought that this
friend of his must be very important to him so we asked him who that friend is. He said, it
was Mnithe poor little kid who delivers and sells puto to our house every morning. Of
all his rich and close friends, it was this poor kid whom he thought of the most. And we

were just amazed by this thoughtful act he just did. Another instance is how he supported
his big brothers in achieving their dreams. He is always their number one supporter. His
big brother Norhamdan won in their school as Pupils Government Officer president and it
was Norhamim who was the number one election campaign manager. And same case with
his big brother Norhashim. When Norhashim won as the class president, it was also
Norhamim who did the blow-out for their friends and it was he who paid for the treat. This
is how thoughtful and supportive he is. And this is also true to all his big brothers and
sisters. Always, he stands as their number one fan, their number one supporter, and their
number one inspiration.
In the field of talents and skills, Norhamim may not appear to be the best but this is
actually not true. In fact, in the family, he is the very talented singer, dancer and actor. He
just does not show it to some of his friends. There were many times when he performed in
his school as an actor, dancer or singer. And most of those times, he won and received
much applause from the audience. Even during his kindergarten years, he already showed
his skill in acting when played the role of a prince in their graduation day performance.
Also, there was another time when Norhamim and his brother Norharim acted as rivals in
the talent show of their sister. It was a beauty pageant and because of their amazing skills
in dancing and acting, they won the award of Best in Talent. Many times, Norhamim has
shown his skills and we just cannot help it but be amazed with his talents. We always
believe that he is an intelligent, bright and wonderful kid. Only few however can see his
amazing potential. This is the reason why we always want people to appreciate him and
give him time to show what he can offer. We always believe that every child is special.
Every child is talented. Every child is intelligent. And this is also true to Norhamim.
Norhamims dream is to become a policeman someday. Actually, he always wanted
to become a policeman even during his younger years. In his former school, Dansalan
College, there is a designated Future Profession Day when all the pupils are required to
wear the attire of their dream future profession. And Norhamim one time wore a soldiers
uniform. The second time, he wore a police uniform. He said, he wanted to become a
policeman someday so he can become like his big brother Norhamza, his idol. God willing,
he will have our full support to whatever dream he wants to achieve. Be it policeman or
any other profession.
Bilang panghuling salita, nais kong pasalamatan si Norhamim sa kanyang pagiging
mabuting anak at kapatid. Nais ko ring ibahagi na isa ako sa pinakamasayang magulang
sa mundo dahil nabiyayaan ako ng isang anak na katulad niya. At ganoon din ang mga
kapatid niya. Lahat sila ay masaya sa anumang narating o kaya pang marating ni
Norharim sa kanyang pag-aaral at paglalakbay sa mundong ito. Ano man ang mangyari,
mananatili kaming narito sa kanyang paligid upang sumuporta, gumabay, magmahal at
tumayo bilang isang pamilya. Kami ay nananalangin na ipagpatuloy niya ang kanyang

pagsamba sa Allah ng sa gayon ay gabayan siya palagi at hindi siya hayaang maligaw sa
tamang landas. Malayo man kami ngayon sa kanya, kami parin ay laging nandito bilang
isang pamilya at Kanlungan. Lagi nyang tatandaan na sa tuwing syay madapa o
magkamali sa laban ng buhay, kaming mga kapamilya nya ay laging handa upang
tulungan syang bumangon at lumaban muli. At kung saan man sya liparin ng kanyang
paglalakbay, kami parin ay mananatiling nandito at mag-aantay sa kanyang muling
