Sub: RFI for Manufacturing & Supply of


High Power Radar
We, at HAL, Avionics Division, Hyderabad are in the field of Avionics since 1965 and
supporting the needs of Indian Defence Services towards all Air Borne
Communications, Ground Communications and Ship Borne Applications.
Air Borne Radio Communication systems for fighters like MIG 21 series, Jaguar,
MiG-27, Su-30,Transport Aircraft like Dornier, Avro & AN-32 and for all classes of
Helicopters in HF, VHF & UHF Bands are being manufactured and supplied by Division
apart from Ship Borne HF Transmitters. Division has got a track record of maintaining
all Radio Communication Equipment of Indigenous, Russian & Western origins under
Ground, Ship Borne and Air Borne categories. Division has designed, developed,
manufactured and supplied PAR and SRE Radars to Indian Defence.
Division is looking forward for a potential vendor capable of supplying High Power
Radar with active aperture phased array radar technology for participating in the Indian
Air Force Program along with HAL. The technical specifications are given at Annexure-1
for study and compliance by potential/interested vendors.
The interested Vendors are hereby requested to forward the response with the
following:
(i) Availability of suitable system complying with IAF requirements.
(ii) Compliance to the technical parameters given in this RFI furnished at Annexure-1.
(iii)Expression of willingness to partner with HAL, Hyderabad for supply &
manufacturing of above System by HAL.
The participating vendors may kindly note that:
(i) RFP will be released only to those vendors who will respond to this RFI with total
compliance of technical parameters given at Annexure-1.
(ii) The partner will be selected based on Techno-Commercial proposals received
against above RFP.

(iii) The selected partner would be required to comply with all terms & conditions of
Air Force RFP like NC-NC trials, if any, at partners cost & commitment basis.
The participating vendor may kindly note that the response to RFI is to be submitted by
27th April 2015.
