Staind

The song is easier to play with a capo. It sounds perfect from start to finish. The document provides chord progressions and fingerpicking patterns for the verses and chorus of the song.

I just found this song so much easier to play with a CAPO.

It takes away all the

hard fingering positions. It sounds perfect from start to finish.
Enjoy!

I apologize ahead of time for the abundance of notes. I couldn't find any tabs that
approximated this song *as Staind plays it*. Thx goes to LtdRowe who had a version that had
the basic framework and was the first one smart enough to tune his guitar half a step
down. I probably couldn't have done this without having his tab to start trying to play
from. Here it is as Staind plays it.

The Intro is exactly right except for 2 notes in GTR.1 that I put a !*! above.
I am 99% of them both though.

The fast picking of GTR.1 is a lot harder than it sounds. While you CAN get away with
simple like 00002p0 on the D string for the entire verse, it won't have the same
that you hear in the song normally. The 0002p0 --> 4p0002=p0 in there is actually an
approximation of the tone. For those of you that want it exactly the way they play it,
it is along the lines of 4p02p02=p0 on the D string. I'm not skilled enough and/or my guitar
isn't good enough to recreate that sound to confirm it though. The '=' means, in
this case, that the note is played just a split second longer and louder to highlight it.

As far as the chorus goes, each chord is strum very fast. I am 95% sure that each one is
hit 9 times over the course of 2 seconds with the last one ringing 1 more second. I
have trouble strumming it that many times while still hitting the right strings. You
can get away with 5-6 strums before letting it ring and it will still sound about the
The '=' denotes the 1 second each chord rings.
