Hourly employees (Positive Time Reporters) report PUNCH time everyday.
Salaried employees (Exception Time Reporters) report ELAPSED time like Leave,
Holiday etc.
Time reported by the employees get entered in the PUNCH and ELAPSED reported
time tables TL_RPTD_PCHTIME and TL_RPTD_ELPTIME respectively.
The TIMEADMIN process reads from the above reported time tables, applies RULES to
the entries and converts REPORTED TIME to PAYABLE TIME.

Time Reporter
Employees and non-employees do not automatically participate in the Time and Labor
system when added to the Human Resources database. You must enroll, as a time
reporter, each person for whom time will be reported or created. When enrolling a time
reporter, specify how the person will report time and how the system will process that
time.

Workgroups
A workgroup is a group of time reporters who share identical compensation
requirements. For example, a workgroup may include all time reporters:
In the same business enterprise.
In the same pay group.
In the same union or union local.
At the same work location.
Each time reporter who reports time through Time and Labor must belong to a
workgroup. In addition, the Time Administration process applies rules by workgroup. A
workgroup must be created before any process that uses it.

In Time and Labor you can define three main types of schedules:
Punch
Elapsed
Flex

Punch schedules include punch detail such as In, Out, Meal, Break, and Transfer.

Elapsed schedules show the duration of time to be workedfor example, eight hours on Monday.

Flex schedules are practical when a time reporter has some flexibility to begin and end the workday.

Time Administration
The heart of the Time & labor is the Time Administration processing feature. All aspects
of time reporting are processed through this part of the application.
The foundation of Time and Labor is the Time Administration rules processing feature,
which enables you to create rules for processing time. You can apply these rules online
and as part of the Time Administration batch process.
Time administration provides these tools for creating rules:
Templates for rule calculations.
Actions and conditions for rules that are too complex to be defined within a template
structure.

Understanding the PAYABLE TIME table

(TL_PAYABLE_TIME)
Producing PAYABLE TIME is the end result of Time and Labor processing.
After processing time, TIMEADMIN inserts data into the Payable Time table
TL_PAYABLE_TIME, which is ready to be taken by payroll.
Data in TL_PAYABLE_TIME represents final processed time which has been generated
after applying all the defined rules to Reported Time.
PAYABLE_STATUS is an important field that decides whether the time is ready to be
taken by payroll and whether payroll has processed that time.
