Chapter I
Problem and its Background
This chapter includes the introduction, theoretical framework, statement of the
problem, hypothesis, scope and limitation, conceptual framework, significance of the
study and the definition of terms used.
Introduction
People nowadays are living in an information age and dependent on
digital information. Digital information is electronic information, the result of
computer processing. Every type of job relies upon getting information like using
of it, managing and relaying information to others. Computers enable the efficient
processing and storage information.
A grading system plays a key role in the management system of any
school. As student desires to achieve a good score for assignment, exam, project
and report and others, student must be satisfied on the outcome of their grades.
This process adds heavy workload for teachers and in order to make their
evaluation
fair,
comprehensive
and
accurate
recording
information.
Computerized grading system is highly desirable addition to the educational toolkit particularly can provide less effort and more effective in educational value and
time outcome. For teachers that computing and recording of grades is consume
lot of time instead they spent they time by preparing lesson plan, making of
research or thesis and having time for knowing theirs student.
Developing computerized grading system is to reduce the error and file
handling of records, less manual computation and recording of tasks and
decreased redundancy. Teachers increased the capability to work better and
student should be given lot of attention on their academic performance.
Nagpayong High School uses the manual way of computing grades and
adding information or records of both students and professors. The process
entails a lot of effort and by computing and storing of data manually the process
is prone to error especially for the professors who handle two or more classes.
By using the manual way of computing and storing data, being prone to error is
possible and just by a single mistake, repeating the process may be required.
General Objective
The general objective of this study is to develop a computerized grading
system for Nagpayong High School.
Specific objectives
To create system that will display the student's record such as subject,
score of quizzes, exam and grades.
How does the system will automatically compute the student's grade?
with added
capability of teachers to
School Administrators
School administration is no longer to re-compute the grades of
each student to check on their accuracy. Reports such as grading sheet
and class records can be submitted on time.
Students
Students can look forward to better lessons since their teacher
would have added time to prepare for lesson plans.
Future researcher
To develop resourceful system that will help other to make their
work comfortable. Encourage other people to study or research about
the computerized
grading system.
Conceptual Framework
The Conceptual Framework studies the flow of the study to be taken. The

The second frame is method use for gathering information and procedure
to analyze study, to create chart flow and decision making by interviewing
teacher, operator and student of Nagpayong High School, Internet for research,
gathering data, planning for system, and analyze the propose project to specified
the needs of Nagpayong High School.
The third frame work is the output, the development computerized grading
system. This study is able to eliminate the error file handling, the redundancy of
recording and computing of scores and grades, lessen the workload of teachers,
and increased the capabilities of teachers, operator and students to perform
duties.
Theoretical Study
Background Information Discussion on grading began during the 20092010 school year looking at course grade distributions. Current course grades do
not match student performance on standardized tests. PLC Team Leaders and
Mr. Macrafic attended a three day conference on grading in November2010 and
presented initial proposal to staff. Team Leaders and Mr. Macrafic led multiple
whole staff (7-12) discussions to gain consensus on the final proposal. The
primary purpose ofgrade is to communicate student achievement to students,
parents, school administrators, post-secondary institutions and employers.

School teachers believe that grading should be: consistent, accurate, meaningful
and supportive of learning. The goal is to improve the grading system to ensure a
more accurate representation of student learning. This will allow us to identify
