fs2 Episode2 130115072318 Phpapp01

The student observed two classes taught by resource teachers. The student was able to deduce the lesson objectives from observing the teachers' lessons. The teachers clearly stated the lesson objectives at the beginning of class by writing them on the board. The student found it easy to identify the objectives because the teachers effectively applied principles for developing objectives and used appropriate methods and materials to achieve the objectives. The student reflected that lesson objectives truly serve as a guiding star for developing effective lessons when followed.

My Map
I will observe two different classes and observe the Resource Teacher
teach. I will reflect on the guide questions given below.
To hit my Target, I will follow these steps:

My Tools
As I observe a class, I will use the Observation Sheet for a more focused
observation.

2. Share lesson objective with students.

2. The teachers write or post their

objectives on the board and let their
students read it.

3. Lesson objectives must be in the 2 or

3 domains cognitive, skill and affective
or cognitive and affective or skill and
affective.

3. The teacher asked the students if

they understand what was the story is
all about and let the students share
what they feel after hearing the story.
She also gave the opportunity for the
learners to participate actively in the
group activities provided.

4. Work on significant and relevant

lesson objectives.

4. The teachers based their lessons on

their given objective. They made it as

their guide in delivering their lessons.

5. Lesson objectives must lead to the

development of critical and creative
thinking.

5. As they discussed their lessons, the

teachers asked the students some

questions that are related to their
given objectives and by doing this the
students were motivated to think just
to answer the questions given to
them.

2. After observing your Resource Teacher teaches, write down what you think
was/were her lesson objective.

Malalaman kung saan napapatungkol ng kwentong tatalakayin.

Maiintindihan ng maayos ang kwentong tatalakayin sa

pamamagitan ng pagpapakahulugan ng mga salitang ginamit.

Actually, I dont have to think on what was the objectives on their

lessons because before they start to discuss their lesson they write or post
first their objectives on the board, although I express it in different words but
the thought is also the same.
In addition, if, ever they do not post it I surely have the same objectives
with them because it is obvious on how they delivered their lessons.

3. Ask permission from your Resource Teacher for you to copy her lesson
objective for the days lesson. Copy it here then compare it with your answer
in # 2. Are they same? Different?

As it was posted on the board, the teachers objectives were:

Nabibigyang kahulugan ang mga piling salitang ginamit sa akda.

Nasasagot ang mga katungan kaugnay sa akdang tinalakay.

I have the same objectives to my cooperating teacher although I

express it in different words but the thought is also the same.

My Analysis
1. If answer in # 3 above is different, what is your conclusion regarding
written lesson objective and actual lesson development? Are lesson
objectives in the lesson plan always followed? Do they really serve as
guiding star?
Yes, learning objectives serve as a guide for the teachers on how
she will direct learning to the students. It is said to be the objectives
because it is the target goal of the teachers for that day. An effective
teacher should follow the stated learning objectives at her lesson plan.
2. Why did you find it easy/difficult to write down the Resource Teachers
lesson objective for the day? Did she mention it in the beginning of
his/her lesson?
Yes, she did post and mention it before starting her discussion.
And I find it quite easy to write the objectives because she used
appropriate method

and materials needed to be able to utilized her

goals and objectives for that lesson and it is obvious on how she
delivered their lessons.
3. Did you find the lesson objective SMART? Why or why not?

Yes, her learning objectives were classified as SMART in such a way that

it can be consumed in specific time-allotment. Aside from that, it can also be

measured and attained in a way that students already have a knowledge
about the short story they discussed .

4. Was the lesson objective in the cognitive or psychomotor or affective

domain? Or was it in the two or three domains? Support your answer.

The lesson objectives used by Mrs. Caballero was in the three domains

of learning. When the students being able to know what was the story entitled
Mayamang Pulubi, they used their cognitive skills. Then, they utilized their
psychomotor skills when they are already understand some unfamiliar words
used in the story and able to construct sentences using those words. However,
it was classified also under affective domain when they share on what they
feel after hearing the story and there are also students who express their
feeling in every situation that the character is involved. Lastly, they had the
feeling of active participation in every group activities provided.

My Reflections
Any lessons learned or insights gained from your observation focused on
lesson objectives? Write them down here. Are lesson objectives truly the
guiding star in the development of a lesson? Or are lesson objectives
sometimes forgotten as the lesson develops?

Lesson objectives are set of goals that the students must

cope within the period. Based on my observation, Mrs. Caballero
directed the learning to the students with her objectives. Her goals
are in the three-domains of learning which made the student more
knowledgeable and equipped with the topic. The knowledge, skills
and attitudes are all developed in the set aims and objectives.
Learning objectives truly be considered as guiding star
in development of the lesson. It is said to be the expected learning
outcomes of the students.

Knowledge and learning can be

controlled effectively and efficiently through complying with the

objectives provide for that day. Additionally, the set goals will

and
Those

objectives will tied up on the success or failure of gaining learning

in every presentation of lesson. And it could be assess through the
performance of the students during the evaluation part of the
lesson.
