Introduction
Inthisassessment,youwillconfiguredevicesinanIPv4/IPv6network.Forthesakeoftime,youwillnotbeaskedtoperformall
configurationsonallnetworkdevicesasyoumayberequiredtodoinarealnetworkorotherassessment.Instead,youwilluse
theskillsandknowledgethatyouhavelearnedinthelabsinthiscoursetoconfiguretheTownHallrouter.Inaddition,youwill
addressthehostsontwoLANswithIPv4andIPv6addresses,activateandaddressthemanagementinterfaceofthe
AdministrationSwitch,andbackupadeviceconfigurationtoaTFTPserver.
Youwillreceiveoneofseveraltopologies.
YouarenotrequiredtoconfiguretheITDepartmentSwitch,andyouwillnotbeabletoaccessitinthispracticeskills
assessmentactivity.
AllIOSdeviceconfigurationsshouldbecompletedfromadirectterminalconnectiontothedeviceconsole.Inaddition,
manyvaluesthatarerequiredtocompletetheconfigurationshavenotbeengiventoyou.Inthosecases,createthe
valuesthatyouneedtocompletetherequirements. Forvaluesthathavebeensuppliedtoyou,theymustbeentered

Configuretheroutertoonlyacceptinbandmanagementconnectionsovertheprotocolthatismoresecurethan
Telnet,aswasdoneinthelabs.Usethevalue1024 forencryptionkeystrength.
Configurelocaluserauthenticationforinbandmanagementconnections.Createauserwiththenamenetadmin
andasecretpasswordof Cisco_CCNA5Givetheuserthehighestadministrativeprivileges.Youranswermust
matchthesevaluesexactly. b.ConfigurethetwoGigabitEthernetinterfacesusingtheIPv4addressingvalues
youcalculatedandtheIPv6valuesprovidedintheaddressingtable.
Reconfigurethelinklocaladdressestothevalueshowninthetable.

intheaddressingtable.
b. BackuptherunningconfigurationofTownHalltotheTFTPServer.Usethedefaultfilename.
