Main Interface

Open the volcano Box, you will see the Main Menu on the Top, Mobile CUP Types details like
MTK, SPD etc on the left, the main software Screen on the right side (The white part).
Same as, we can see here Drag Tool (DCC, RX, TX, DTR, DTR, DST etc) and Drop part (01, 02, 03,

04 etc). When we select any Pinout manually then we drag VCC, GND, RX, TX, +D -D from Drag
Tool and we drop it to the above where is written 01, 02, 03, 04 etc. (Drop Part). In Cable
(drop-down) menu, we can see different jigs names that come with Volcano Box. Same as, On
the Detect Type (drop-down) menu, we can see different CPU Names. From this both (Cable
and Detect Type) drop Down Manu, we can find mobile Pin - out or definition. We can also find
Mobile CPU type with the help of this drop down menu i.e. Cable Drop Down Manu and Detect
Type Drop Down Manu.

Why Volcano Software not Opening (not showing its Interface)?

There might be few reasons if the Volcano Software not opening. They are:
1. Volcano Box not connecting with A to B cable.
2. Box Driver Problem or Driver Conflict with Different Box. Uninstall FIDI drivers and try to
install Box Driver. You can find the Volcano Box Driver on the following location:
C:\Program Files\Volcano Team\VolcanoBox\Drivers\Box Drivers

You can also download Latest driver just clicking Download Latest Drivers on the main
interface:

3. Power Button of Volcano Turning ON. It should be in OFF position.

4. Antivirus Problem. Turn off Antivirus and Try Again.

5. A debugger has been found running in your system?

If you are facing problem such as Debugger has been found and not opening the software,
just uninstall the USB Network Sharing Software.

How to increase Volcano Boxs Pin finding Speed?

(Some Mobiles are not booting from Volcano Box why?)
Just guess why there is a Switch on the Box Hardware? Simple Answer is VOLCANO Box has
made multiple interfaces to operate. Let us explain about it.

Switch off Position: Volcano Box uses USB Power from Computer
Switch ON Position: Volcano Box doesnt use Power from the USB of your Computer. This
means you have to use external power adaptor for volcano box. Volcano Box requires 9 Volt 1
Ampere (9v 1Amp) Adaptor for it.

Some USB of the Personal Computer (PC) could not supply accurate voltage for volcano box so
the pin-finding speed could not be fast. And if you use external power supply, then, Volcano
Box consume total power from AC 9V (9V 1 Amp) Adaptor which will be enough than that the
PC which is supplying power between Pen Drive, Data cards and Other Boxes. So there wont be
enough Power to the Volcano Box. When you use 9 Volt adaptors it doesnt consume any
Power from your PC and it runs smoothly and finds Pinout very fast.

It should be noted when we use 9 V. 1 amp Adaptor, then, the Switch of Volcano Box should be
ON position.

File Manu
In this Menu You will find EXIT Button in drop down list. This Button is used to EXIT the
Program.

Config
Under Config Manu you will Find 2 Options:

1. Cable Manager
2. Advanced Option

Cable Manager
You can see the Cable List detail and cable pin out from the table as shown below. From this
menu, you can directly set the mobile pin out if they are in the list. You can also Delete and
rename the pin out from the menu.

Pinout Export: You can export listed pinout from Volcano Box to Other Boxes etc
Pinout Import: You Can Import the Pinout of Other Source i.e. Box etc to Volcano Box
Smart Set: To Set the Selected Pinout from the Blue Line Box
Set the selected Cable: To set the Similar kinds of Pinout to Another Mobile
Delete Pinout: Delete the Selected Pinout from the Drop Down list of Blue color Box
Rename Pinout: Rename the Selected Pin out from the Drop Down list of Blue color Box

Advanced Option
This Tab is related with Power Management of Mobile using the Volcano Box. As we know some
mobile requires more power and some few. Volcano Box automatically supplies the required
Voltage to the mobile that it is required by the mobile at the time of operation i.e. Flashing,
IMEI repairing etc.
Chinese Mobile normally needs 4.3 to 5.0 Voltages. The Default Option is Automatic exchange.
This means when mobile needs less than 5.0 voltages, then it shifts to 4.3. And when it needs
more power to the phone then it shifts to 5.0 . Is not this Wonderful idea!!!
Sometimes, if there is necessary Fixed Certain Voltage, Advance user can fix this manually. For
this you have to choose Fixed (Red Clip is Positive, black Clip is Negative).

Tool
This Manu is related to Eagle Eye, Test Battery and Oscilloscope.

Eagle Eye (Eagle Eyes = power supply)

Eagle Eye simply means "Power Supply" to the Device or Mobile. Eagle Eye has made to check
the voltage of the device to confirm the device has software or hardware problem.
Why volcano box has eagle eye?
Because Volcano Box gives you "All in One In build Services No need buy other tools like ABC
and no need to buy power Supply. Volcano Box has in build power supply which is known as
Eagle Eye.
Volcano Box has used Good hardware i.e. ALTERA IC and Altera IC needs Stable Voltage from
your Computer. Altera IC must have stable voltage. Even losing 0,0000001 voltage, Altera IC
won't be stable. If your computer has no stable Voltage from USB (USB Power Supply), then,
you must use 9 volt 1 Amp ADAPTOR with Volcano Box (This Adaptor does not include with
Volcano Package because some device (Computer and Laptop) needs and other doesn't). If
voltage does not stable then final result won't be perfect. So, better we suggest use EXTERNAL
ADAPTOR for Volcano Box. The benefit of using 9 Volt Adaptor is that Volcano Box doesn't
consume any power from your computer and pin finding Speed will be super fast.
You can use Eagle Eye as you use external Power Supply as shown picture below:

How to make Volcano as Power Supply?

1. Open the Volcano Box Software

2. Now, go to Tool menu and Click on Eagle Eyes or You can just Press Eagle Eye on the
TOP of the Volcano Software.
3. Now, Connect Phone with Volcano Box
4. Click on Collect Button
5. Now, Press & hold Power button of the mobile. Now your mobile will be ON (as you
normally do with external Power Supply).
Normally, mobile needs 130 to 150 mh Current to run or to open. If the current level is
below of this level, Mobile should not ON. That means either mobile has either hardware or
software problem.

How to I Know that Device has hardware (Short-circuit) or software problem?

There are 3 ways to find out hardware or software problem from the Volcano Box. They are:
A. Eagle Eyes
1. Open the Volcano Box Software
2. Then go to Tool menu and press Eagle Eyes or You can just Press Eagle Eye on the TOP
of the Volcano Software.
3. Now, Connect Phone with Volcano Box
4. Click on Collect Button
5. After pressing Collect button, Ammeter (Eagle Eye) doesn't go right site or stay same
place or location and shows an error "Failed to set collection-command Please try
again", that means hardware problem. You can test it with Battery Cable (+) to (-) and (-)
to (+). Check the Picture as shown below:

Normally, If the mobile has software problem, after pressing Collect button, the
AMMETERs Needle goes towards the right side and Current increases (3 ma) even not
pressing on Mobile Power button as shown on the picture below:

If there is no short circuit, then, of course AMMETERs Needle goes more right when you press
mobile Power Button.
B. Flash IC Damaged
Where there is Flash IC Damaged, Other box like Dragon shows NOR and NAND Flash Chip
Address as 00000000. In the case of Volcano Box, it shows error S_Da_Flash_Not_Foundas
shown below:

For such a condition, first re-hot Flash Chip. Still, not work, then, rebel Flash IC or change the
Flash IC.
C. Completely Shorting
When the Device (Mobile) becomes damaged with Water or electricity, the Volcano Box starts
to beep when you connect the battery cable (Main Cable) of Volcano Box. Volcano Box has
made anti-shocked technology; still we do not recommitment you to join the device or PCB
continuously with Volcano Box. When you hear such a beep and confirm the shorting, please
disconnect the device from the Box.

Oscilloscope
Oscilloscope is electronic test instrument that allows observation of constantly varying signal
voltages. Oscilloscopes are commonly used to observe the exact wave shape of an electrical
signal. In addition to the amplitude of the signal, an oscilloscope can show distortion, the time
between two events (such as pulse width, period, or rise time) and relative timing of two
related signals. This Software Range is 0 to 20 MHZ
* This device is used for signal Checking
* Needs Special Cable which has a very sharp needle one side and female main cable place in
another side (which is used to join with Volcano in the same place where we used to join
Volcano Main cable.)
* For this, we need black cable to the ground and connect needle where you want to check
MHZ (Frequency).
* Volcano can check 0 to 20 MHz Frequency.

Special Cable for Oscilloscope

System
This menu is related to Reconnect and System Self Check.

1. Reconnect
This Tab is related to connect the Box; if this is already disconnected.

2. System Self Check

System Self Check is Self-doctor of volcano box. Is not this good idea to check your box
yourself?

System Recovery: To check the volcano software if there is any problem and recovers it if there
is any problem.
How to check
1. Click on System Recovery
2. When software ask Would you like to executive system recovery? Click OK to run
it.
3. Wait until the operation is completed.
Check Motherboard: Volcano Box has two Boards inside the Box: They are: 1. Big Board and 2.
Small Board. Big Board is known as Motherboard. Check Motherboard button checks the
Motherboard if there is any Problem.

How to check
1. Click on Motherboard Check
2. Wait until the operation is completed.

Check As board: The Assiboard is the small Motherboard inside the Volcano box. Check
Assibard checks the Small Motherboard if there is any problem.

How to check
1. Click on Assiboard Check
2. Wait until the operation is completed.
Check Cable: Check cable check the cable if there is any short between cable pins 1 to 24 and it
shows if there is any short between pins. Suppose pin number 5 and 6 are short each other
then, it shows shot on the below Table which is showing 1, 2, 3 to 24.
How to check
1. Click on Check Cable
2. Wait until the operation is completed.

Stop: This button stops the operation.

Close: This button close the Program.

Help
This tab is under construction.

Help Manual
You will find this button on the left top of the main interface written as Help Manual. This
button is related to the user manual where is written how to do this and that using Volcano
Box. To get the manual, Just click on Help Manual. Thats all.

Search
This Manu is related with Firmware of the mobile. When you press its sub-menu called "Flash
File Search, the browser leads you to GPG Industry Forum:

Here you can find the requested file, if there are any.

Advance / Simple form

This tab is related to Volcano (Software) Screen Size. If you click on Simple form, then, the
volcano Screen becomes Small size (as shown right side of the below) whereas if you click on
Advance form, then, the Volcano (Software) Screen size becomes Bigger (as shown on the left
side below :)

DETECT TAB
Without Mobile Pin out, we cannot do anything like Flashing, IMEI Repairing etc. So, Detect Tab
is most essential for GSM or CDMA mobiles. Simply we can say that Detect Tab is related to the
Detection of Mobile Pinout.

How to Know the CPU - Chip info without Opening the Device
(Mobile)
Chinese Mobile has different kinds of CPUs like MTK, SPD, MSTAR, Coolsand, RDA, Infineon, AD,
Sky, TI, Ankya, and more will come in coming days. So, in such a situation, it is very hard job to
find the CPU Type without Opening the Mobile. Still, using the Volcano Box, You can find the
CPU Type without opening the device:
1. Open the Volcano Main Software Interface.
2. Go to Detect Tab
3. Choose cable type: Auto Select Cable
4. Choose Detect Type: (RX/TX) Auto Detect CPU
5. Click on DETECT tab and
6. Press and hold Power button of the device (mobile) until volcano Detect CPU Type
7. After complete Detection, it shows the info as shown in the picture below:
8. Now, Click on "Set Pin out" so save the Detection Pin Out.
9. If there is already checked "After setting switches to platform", then software leads to
platform that is detected by Volcano. If this is MTK CPU, then the Volcano Box opens MTK
Platform, but if this is SPD platform, Volcano Box opens SPD Platform.

NOTE: Volcano software couldnt open the New MTK Platform using this Tab because new MTK
platform is detected from (+D/D Mstar) platform. So, even mobile MTK, Box opens MSTAR
Platform.
Better you do not tick "After setting switches to Platform" Sometimes Detect Method does not
work because there are various new CPU Types in the market. So, you must open the mobile
check the PCB for CPU Type.
Why We use Select Mstar D+/D- Boot to find out pinout of MTK USB?
Its Simple. In normal mode, volcano can only detect RX and Tx Pinout. Volcano cannot detect
D+/D- Pinout from normal mood. To find USB (D+/D-), volcano has only option to use Mstar
Boot (D+/D-).

What is RX/TX, D+/D- and USB method?

When you open Device (phone) and solder wires to mobile PCB for operation (flashing, imei
repairing etc) that is called RX/TX method. When you do operation without opening the
Device (mobile) using Volcano main cable (Selecting (D+/D) Mstar) is known as D+/D method.
And, when you use mobile battery and cables like Nokia 5310, Motorola V3 USB etc Cables that
is known as USB method. The picture shown in below is RX/TX method because wires are used
to solder on the Device (Mobile) main PCB

The 2 ways RXTX Hardware Soldering Methods (Volcano)

The Two ways RXTX method are as follows:

1. Using RJ45 Cable for RX/TX + Volcano Main (cable + and cable for Power)
2. Volcano Jig for RX/TX + Volcano main cable (+ and - cabole for Power)
1. Using RJ45 Cable for RX/TX + Volcano Main cable for Power
You have to make Special RJ45 Cable for this operation or you can use infinity Universal Cable
for this. The Pinout of RJ45 cable of Volcano Box is as follows:

Pin number 2 RX
Pin number 3 TX
Pin number 7 GND

2. Volcano Jig for RX/TX + Volcano main cable for Power

You can use Volcano Universal Jig as RX and TX. The Pinout of Volcano Universal Jig is as
follows:
Number 1 RX
Number 5 TX
Volcano Negative power button () GND

Note: Since Negative Power () cable also works as Ground. So soldering GND cable is optional.

Which CPU works RX and TX Platform and which CPU USB (D+/D-)
Platform?
It is very difficult to tell because today the CPU which is running Rx and TX platform may be in
future they might support USB or D+/D platform. Still, according to our experience, simply we
can say:

RXTX Platform: MTK, SPD, SPD 8800D, Ankya, Coolsand, RDX, Ti, AD, SKY, Agere, Infineon,
Philips, SI4904, CDMA
USB (D+/D) Platform: MTK, SPD, Ankya, Mstar, Coolsand, RDX CDMA USB Device, Common
USB Device

Why we use (D+/D-) Mstar to find MTK USB Pin Out?

New MTK Chips only work with USB Platform. Mstar chips also works with USB Platform. MTK
chips has not separate boot for USB but Mstar chips has separate boots for USB work which
MTK chips also supports so MTK chips works in MSTAR D+/D- (USB) Platform.

Why we need Manual Pin Finding?

What should we do, if VCC not found while detecting?
Sometimes we cannot find VCC but find GND, D+, D- from Detect Tab. In such a condition, we
have to find VCC first. After finding VCC, we can use GND, D+, D- that was found from Detect
Tab.
What is Next?
Now, you have manually Pinout, VCC, GND, D+ and D-.

Now, you can Pick up the VCC, GND, D+ and D- from Drag Tool and leave this to Drop Part.

How to find Charge Pin?

To find charging pin is very important to get information of VCC. So, Charging pin means VCC
pin finding process. To charge mobile it needs two pin. One is VCC and other is GND. To find
Ground Pin there is no problem but VCC is difficult. Volcano Box does this work with the help of
Ammeter (Eagle Eye) which is inbuilt feature of Volcano. Sometimes, Box cant detect VCC and
it shows VCC NULL, So, such a condition we need to find VCC of the respective mobile as
mentioned below:
1. Go to DETECT Tab
2. If you are confirm about Cable Type, Choose this from drop down manu. Otherwise
leave this as Auto Select Cable
3. Choose DETECT TYPE as (OTHERS) Charge Pin
4. Now, Click on DETECT tab. Now, you can see GND Pinout finds very fast. On this
Picture you can See GND is in pin number 5
5. After this; you will see AMMETER (Eagle Eye) to find the VCC. VCC is that point where
AMMETER shows high Current.
6. Now, if the AMMETER shows high current or it goes towards MORE RIGHT SIDE that is
your VCC Point. If this is showing high Current, then Press YES otherwise Choose
NO. In Our Picture, Pin Number 1 shows High Current 278 MA so this is our VCC. I
have tried the entire pin but only one pin (Pin Number 1) showed High Current 278 MA
so, this is Mobile VCC Pinout. Log File of Pin Finding is as follows:

Note: There won't be 2 or more VCC in One mobile. It should be only one. But, sometimes it has
seen 2 VCC Pinout also. If two points shows high current then the high current is taken as

Mobile VCC. It is Noted that when you select VCC phone must show charging Line on the mobile
Display.

What should I do when RX /TX point damage but have DP DM? What is this?
DM DP= USB D+ DDM mean USB + and DP mean USB RX and TX works with COM (Not USB) For Example MTK can Connect RX and TX
But Mstar works with USB so you must be connect with DM and DP on the PCB after it works
but if you try to Connect MSTAR With RX and TX it wont find the pin out . Some Mstar has
Boot-\BOOT+ on the PCB, you can solder mobile on that Pinout.

How do they put the Jig Name? And how do I know this?
Yes, they have put the jig name as meaningful. When someone burn then the parents put his
name Sunday, When he born on Monday then, of course, MONDAY or like that Same way, the
Best Hardware Manufacturer GPG Industry put its name with meaningful. Check this jig picture:

The Jig has written P-05B. This means, this jig has 5 pin so this is used for 5 pin mobile socket
type. Same as
P-07 --------- means this jig has 7 pin
P-04A ------- means this jig has 4 pin

P-30B ------- means this jig has 30 pin and like that.

How to work Tab or iPhone (high copy) which has battery inside like
original iPhone?

Please follow the tutorials:

1. Open the iPhone, Tab or such kind of device which battery is attached inside to the Device
(Mobile)
2. Now, de-solder the battery from the device (mobile)
3. Solder the Volcano Power Cable + and - wire to the point where the battery has just taken
out.
Cable + line to Battery + line and
Cable - line to Battery - line
4. Now, use one of the jig with Main Cable of Volcano or Use DP/DM or RX/TX with Volcano
Box's Universal Jig.
5. Find out the CPU and do the operation whatever you like.

Is there any method to detect CPU if we are sure about this?

Especially, there are some rules for detection which we do not want to keep secret to the
volcano users:

A. MTK CPU
1. MTK (RX/TX)
If you are sure that the CPU is MTK then you can directly select (RX/TX) MTK CPU from
Detect Type. You can also specify Cable Type from Cable drop down list. Check the picture
below:
1. Open the Volcano Main Software.
2. Go to Detect Tab
3. Choose cable type: Auto Select Cable
4. Choose Detect Type: (RX/TX) MTK CPU
5. Click on DETECT tab and wait until volcano detects the CPU
6. After complete Detection, it shows the info as shown in the picture below.
7. Now, Click on "Set Pin out" so save the Detected Pinout.
8. If there is already checked "After setting switches to platform", then software leads to
platform that is detected by Volcano. If this is case of MTK CPU, then, the Volcano Box opens
MTK Platform directly.
Note: Check the picture below. The Jig name P04A that means this Jig has 4 pin and also notice
Cable type E034 (4P) Earphone (Four Section). 4P means 4 pins jig. So, we use the 4A jig so we
manually select 4P jig from the CABLE drop down list.

2. MTK (USB Method)

If you are sure that the CPU is MTK USB then you can directly select (D+/D) MSTAR from
Detect Type. You can also specify Cable Type from Cable drop down list if you know about this
otherwise leave it as Auto Select Cable
1. Open the Volcano Main Software Interface.
2. Go to Detect Tab
3. Choose cable type: Auto Select Cable
4. Choose Detect Type: (D+/D) MSTAR
5. Click on DETECT tab and wait until volcano detected the CPU Type
6. After complete Detection, it shows the info as shown in the picture below.
7. Now, Click on "Set Pin out" so save the Detection Pin Out.
8. If there is already checked "After setting switches to platform", then software leads to Mstar
platform. Better you do not check After setting switches to platform in case of MTK USB.

B. SPD / Anyka
We can do SPD / Ankya mobile 2 ways detection: 1. Using RX/TX and 2. USB (D+/D-)
1. SPD (RX and TX)
If you are sure that the CPU is SPD then you can also do with (RX/TX) SPD/Ankya from Detect
Type. You can also specify Cable Type from Cable drop down list if you know about this
otherwise leave it as Auto Select Cable
1. Open the Volcano Main Software Interface.
2. Go to Detect Tab
3. Choose cable type: Auto Select Cable
4. Choose Detect Type: (RX/TX) SPD CPU
5. Click on DETECT tab
6. Press and hold power button of the device and wait until volcano detected the CPU Type.
7. After complete Detection, it shows the info as shown in the picture below.
8. Now, Click on "Set Pin out" so save the Detection Pin Out.
9. If there is already checked "After setting switches to platform", then software leads to the
Platform that is detected by Volcano. This is the case of SPD CPU, then, the Volcano Box opens

SPD Platform directly.

2. SPD (D+/D- i.e. USB)

If you are sure that the CPU is SPD then you can directly select (D+/D-) SPD/Ankya from Detect
Type. You can also specify Cable Type from Cable drop down list if you know about this
otherwise leave it as Auto Select Cable
1. Open the Volcano Main Software Interface.
2. Go to Detect Tab
3. Choose cable type: Auto Select Cable
4. Choose Detect Type: (D+/D-) SPD/Ankya
5. Click on DETECT tab and wait until volcano Detect the CPU
6. After complete Detection, it shows the info as shown in the picture below:
7. Now, Click on "Set Pinout" to save the Detected Pinout.
8. If there is already checked "After setting switches to platform", then software leads to SPD
platform.

C. MSTAR
If you are sure that the CPU is Mstar or MTK USB then you can directly select (D+/D-) MSTAR
from Detect Type. You can also specify Cable Type from Cable drop down list if you know about
this otherwise leave it as Auto Select Cable
1. Open the Volcano Main Software Interface.
2. Go to Detect Tab
3. Choose cable type: Auto Select Cable
4. Choose Detect Type: (D+/D-) MSTAR
5. Click on DETECT tab and wait until volcano detected the CPU Type.
6. After complete Detection, it shows the info as shown in the picture below.
7. Now, Click on "Set Pin out" to save the Detected Pinout.
8. If there is already checked "After setting switches to platform", then software leads to Mstar
platform.

D. CoolSand and RDA

Coolsand and RDA CPU detect from (D+/D-) MSTAR method and RX/TX MethodSo,
1. Coolsand and RDA (RX/TX)
You can do Coolsand and RDA CPU directly selecting (RX/TX) Coolsand CPU from Detect Type.

1. Open the Volcano Main Software Interface.

2. Go to Detect Tab
3. Choose cable type: Auto Select Cable
4. Choose Detect Type: (RX/TX) Coolsand CPU
5. Click on DETECT tab
6. Hold the Power Button until software detects mobile's pin-out
7. After complete Detection, it shows the info as shown in the picture below.
8. Now, Click on "Set Pin out" to save the Detected Pinout.

2. Coolsand and RDA (D+/D-) MSTAR

If you are sure that the CPU is Coolsand and RDA, then, you can also select (D+/D-) MSTAR
from Detect Type. You can also specify Cable Type from Cable drop down list if you know about

E. QUALCOMM (CDMA)
We can Detect QUALCOMM models from USB mood using following ways:
1. Open the Volcano Software in "DETECT" interface (Tab)
2. Choose "(D+/D-)Common USB devices" Or
Choose "(D+/D-)CDMA USB devices"
3. Click on "Detect" button
4. When Volcano Software ask you "For many phones, charge pins need to be set in order to
identify USB devices or detection will fail. It is recommended that you set charge pins in (Pinout)
first, and then starts detection. Continue detecting? Yes/No" Click on "Yes"

5. Wait operation is completed.

F. Android

Normally, MTK and SPD have Android Operating System in the market. The Detection method is
almost same of other Chinese USB (D+/D) method. You must follow the points if you want to
find Pinout correctly:
1. Open the Volcano Software in ''DETECT" tab
2. Choose Detect Type as "(D+/D) SPD/Ankya" if the mobile is SPD Android
or
Choose Detect Type as "(D+/D) Mstar" if the mobile is MTK or Mstar Android

3. Click on Boot Key, if necessary. Normally Boot key might be Call Button, Call Button + Home
Button etc.
4. Click on "Detect" button and wait until the detection is completed.

5. Click on "Clear Pinout" first

6. Choose the Same Pinouts from Above

This mean you have MTK Phone (or could be Coolsand its not Mstar phone)
If you see in log this
Found [MSTAR] USB device: GCREADER USB Device, (VID_1B20&PID_0300)
This means you have MSTAR phone

VCC and GND is Null, what should I do?

MTK USB and Mstar Not detected from Detect Tab?

Karbonn K9 cannot detect by Volcano and is showed as shown in the Picture above.
Do the following tasks. 100% works
1. Check the Volcano Main Cable or jig first.
2. Install the Device (Phone) Driver
3. Go to DETECT Tab if you know Cable Type, Choose this. Otherwise leave this as Auto

How to make Any UART & Ignition CABLE with the Help of Volcano
Box?
You can make any UART Cable or any Ignition cable for Samsung, LG etc. with the help of
Volcano Box. Volcano Box gives required resistance value and helps to make two cables short
from the software. You can short any pin to Ground by the function of the Volcano Box. For
example, you need to make Samsung C3303K Uart cable. Check the Original cable of C3303K
Uart that is available to buy in the market.

This Picture clearly tells that the Original Cable of C3303K has 5 pins:
1-VCC
2-RX
3-TX

4- Pin 4 shorts with pin 5 with 510k Resistor

5- GND
Now, we will make same Cable with the help of the Volcano Box function like this:

As Original Cable, Pin number 1 is VCC so we Pick up VCC to 01 pin, Pin number 2 is RX in
original Cable, so we pick up RX and drop down to 02 Pin, Pin number 5 is GND in the Original
Cable, so we Drag GND to 05, Pin number 4 is short with Pin number 5 with 510k Resistance in
the original cable, so we Drag REA to 04, and REB to 05. Because REA and REB has Specific
Resistance Value (In this Case 510K) between Pin 4 and Pin 5.
NOTE: If you want to do direct Short, then, you must use SEA and SEB instead of REA and REB.

the Z3X COM Port must be Device COM Port.
2. Let, the Join Volcano Box with the Computer but do not connect Main Cable to the
volcano Box yet. (Remember your mobile must connect with the Main Cable and the
Cable not connecting with the Volcano Box yet.)
3. Click on Read Info from Z3X Box
4. When the Z3X software ask you to connect the Cable, then, Connect Volcano Main
Cable with the Volcano Box.
5. Press and hold Power Button of the Mobile for few seconds.
6. Wait until Operation is completed.
Thats All.
This is an example of Samsung C3303K cable... you can make any other cable such as Samsung

Where is IMEI Function in Volcano Interface?

Follow the steps to bring back IMEI function on the volcano interface:
1. Open the Volcano Box Software interface
2. Press CTRL + ALT + I together or Click on the IMEI Button as shown below:

3. Press "Yes"

How to Choose Valid IMEI?

You can choose any numeric 15 digital numbers for IMEI changing. But, the IMEI must be
international standard i.e. the valid IMEI must have TAC (6 character), FAC (2 Character), SNR (6
Character) and SP (1 Character). Do not worry. Volcano Box does this for you :)
1. Choose Tool Tab

2. Click on "IMEI Generator. Now, you will see New Windows for IMEI Generator.
3. Just Click Generate tab, you will get 15 digits Valid IMEI.

There are two methods to change IMEI in MTK Mobile. 1 AT Mode 2. Live (Meta) IMEI Mode

1. AT Mode
We can change IMEI 3 ways in AT mode.
A. IMEI Change with At Mode (RX/TX- using Volcano Box Port)
At Mode is the mode where you can change IMEI while mobile is restarting condition or ON/Off
Condition by the software problem. You cant write more than 2 IMEI in AT mode.
1. Open Volcano Software in MTK interface.
2. Tick "Write IMEI"

3. Tick "Auto Detect Pinout"

4. Connect Mobile with Volcano Box with its main cable and jig
5. Click on RUN
6. Press and hold Power Button of your Mobile until the pinout detection

7. Choose COM Port (Volcano Box default COM Port using Main Cable)
7. Fill Desired IMEI. You must check on ACTIVE button if you want to write second IMEI also.
(Note: Max 2 IMEI can be written in AT mode)
8. Click on "Write IMEI (W)"
9. Now, press and hold the Power Button until software detects mobile's pin-out

B. IMEI Change with At Mode (RX/TX- using Mobile USB Port)
1. Power on Mobile with Battery.
2. Insert USB cable between mobile and compute.
3. Mobile shows you two Option a. Mass Storage b. COM port. Choose COM port from your
device's (Mobile's) Display.
4. Now, computer install required drives (MTK USB driver) and makes separate COM Port for
this mobile.
(In my case Computer has made Port 59 for this MTK device)
5. Now, Open Volcano Box MTK interface.
6. Untick "Auto Detect Pinout" and Click RUN button.
7. Now, New Windows opens for IMEI function.
8. Select the MTK COM Port that is made by the Mobile which is the mobile COM Port. (For
this, check DEVICE MANAGER of your computer (In my case it is Port 59))

9. Fill Desired 15 digit IMEI number. You must check on ACTIVE button if you want to write
second IMEI also. (Note: Max 2 IMEI can be written in AT mode)
10. Click on "Write IMEI (W)"
11. Now, press and hold the Power Button until software detects mobile's pin-out.

C. IMEI Change with At Mode (using Original USB cable)
At Mode is the mode where you can change IMEI when there is mobile restarting condition or
mobile is off by software problem. You cant write more than 2 IMEI in AT mode.

3. Un-tick "Auto Detect Pinout"
4. Connect Mobile with Volcano Box with its main cable and jig

2. MTK Live(Meta) Write IMEI

Live or Meta mode is that mode where mobile must be ON or Live. In this Mode, you cannot
repair or write IMEI to the device which is restarting or dead condition.
In Meta mood, You can change imei 4 ways as mentioned below:
A. With Box Com Port (Pinout Detecting by Box)
1. Open Volcano Software in MTK interface.

2. Tick "Autodetect Pinout"

3. Tick "IMEI Tool"
4. Click "Run"
5. Press Mobile Power Button continuous. After pinfinding of the Mobile, another IMEI Box
opens as shown below:

6. Click on "Start" button and Press Mobile Power Button continuous and wait until Uploading
Image stop.
7. Choose Box Default Com Port (My Volcano Box is Running in COM number 4)
8. Choose Mode 1 or Mode 2 (Mode 1 or 2 depends according to the CPU of the device)
9. Write the desire IMEI
10. Click on "Change IMEI"

B. With Box Default COM Port (Without Detecting Pinout)

1. Open Volcano Software in MTK interface.
2. Untick "Autodetect Pinout"

3. Tick "IMEI Tool"

Uploading Image bar stops.

NOTE: Volcano Mode 2 IMEI methods are unique method which can not be copied by other
team till yet. I have done two mobile with this Method: A. Karbonn K25i and B. Yxtel E198.
Only Volcano Box can repair this kind of mobile, other box only claims to do so but they are not
Succeed.
C. with Detection + Live (Meta) IMEI Method + using Volcano COM Port
1. Open the volcano software
2. Go to Detect Tab
3. Choose Cable type "Auto Select cable" and Detect type "(RX/TX) MTK CPU"
4. Click on "DETECT".

5. After finding Pinout, click on "set Pinout"

6. Now, go to MTK Platform and un-tick "Auto-detect Pinout"
7. Check "IMEI Tool"
8. Click "Run". Now, new window for IMEI opens
9. Click on "Start" button and Press Mobile Power Button Continuous and wait until the
uploading Image stops.

10. Choose Box Default COM Port (My Volcano Box is running in COM number 4)

MTK 1.01 Platform

MTK 1.01 is new platform for MTK mobile. We will describe detail about this later.
Here we are going to discuss about IMEI function so we are continue to this topic.
Some new mobile are coming in the market like Zen, Lava, Micromax etc which has 6252 CPU
and they have IMEI start from 9111. We can't write Original IMEI of such mobiles which IMEI
starts from 9111 except MTK 1.01 Platform.
1. Open the mobile with Battery.
2. Connect with USB Cable mobile to computer.
3. Notice that mobile will show two options: 1. Mass Storage and 2. COM Port. Now, Choose
COM Port.
4. Computer makes COM port for this mobile. Which COM Port that mobile has taken will found
from Device Manager of your computer.

5. Open the volcano software

6. Click on MTK NEW V1.01
7. Choose MOBILE COM PORT that mobile has taken. (In my case it has taken COM 29)
8. Choose the Phone Brand and Phone Model
9. Choose the IMEI that you want to write one by one i.e. IMEI1 or IMEI2 or IMEI3 or IMEI4.
Note: You can write 1 IMEI in one time on this Platform.
10. Choose the Original IMEI from Battery Housing and click on "Write IMEI AT Mode"

How to change IMEI of SPD CPU

The IMEI of SPD CPU can be also changed two ways:
1. SPD Interface
2. Detect Tab (D+/D+)SPD/Ankya

1. SPD Interface
From the SPD interface, you can change IMEI following ways:
1. Open Volcano Software SPD Interface (tab)
2. Hold Ctrl + Alt + I for IMEI function and click on "OK"
3. Tick on "Write IMEI"
4. Connect the Mobile with Volcano Main Cable
5. Select Boot File according to SPD Mobile CPU from Boot DropDown List. Normally, we
choose BuiltIn Boot_01 (6600Lx Series) USB/ COM. check the picture, we have chosen as
Builtin Boot_03 (6800h) in case of the 6800h CPU.

NOTE: if you want to change IMEI 6800, 660D, 6530, then, you need to change the BOOT as
shown in the Picture above and other rules are sames as describes here.
6. Select Autodetect Pinout Type as Com (RX/TX)

NOTE: In Case your mobile is 8800D; then; you have to choose COM (RX/TX) 8800D as shown
below:

7. Choose R/W IMEI as COM

8. Click RUN Button
9. Fill the Desired IMEI. (If you want to write second IMEI, then, you have to tick ACTIVE to the
second one also.)
10. Click on Write IMEI
11. Press and hold the Power Button for few seconds.

10. R/W imei chooses COM
Note: You must choose COM port to open Uart Port. Do not confuse this point.
11. To enable IMEI Function in the Volcano Software, Press CTRL + ALT + I from your Computer
Keyboard and click "YES")
12. Tick on "Write IMEI" button
13. Click on "RUN"
Now, you can see New Windows opens For IMEI Option.

14. Choose USB port

(Notice: we have selected COM Port above and, here, we are going to choose USB port to write
IMEI. Without opening Uart IMEI Port, we could not Write IMEI. So, to Open Uart Port,
We choose COM port first, and secondly, we choose USB port to write IMEI)
15. Now, disconnect the mobile with Computer
(Disconnect with Power cable and disconnect with Jig)
16. Fill the IMEI on the Box.
17. Click on WRITE IMEI
18. Connect Jig to the mobile, then, connect the power cable (Positive and Negative Cable with
Volcano Main Cable) to phone
19. Press and hold the Power Button until software detects mobile's pin-out and starts boot
downloading

You can Write IMEI RX and TX method in Coolsand CPU.
1. Open the Volcano Software in Coolsand Interface (Tab)
2. Hold Ctrl + Alt + I from Keyboard of the computer to show the hidden IMEI Function and click
on "Yes"
3. Choose Boot Type as Built-in BOOT_B
NOTE: if Boot Type Built-in BOOT_B not work for you then you have to choose Boot Type as

5. Tick "Auto Detect Pinout"

6. Choose File Type from drop down list

Normally we find two kinds of android CPU these days. They are:

1. MTK Android
2. SPD Android
IMEI of MTK (Android)
When there is a problem in IMEI of Android, you can see the screen like below:

We use USB method to change the IMEI in MTK Android. Just follow the following steps:
1. Power On mobile with Sim Card and Battery. Go to USB Dubbing Option of the mobile and
Tick it. (Be sure Flight Mode is OFF).

(Note: when you tick USB Debugging, it will work from ADB.)
2. Insert the USB Cable between mobile and the computer and let the computer install required
drivers for that mobile which is connected with the USB Cable.
3. Go to MTK Tab and untick "Autodetect Pinout"
4. Tick Android Tool
5. Click Run Tab. Now, you will see ANDROID MTK IMEI REPAIR Tool.
6. Fill the Desire IMEI Numbers.
7. Click on Write IMEI button
Now, you will see a box with message Make Sure Phone Have Sim Inserted and Flight Mode Is
Off, Press OK to Continue
8. Click OK to confirm.

9. Wait until the operation is completed.

Security Code (Password)

Chinese Mobile has deterrent CPU like MTK, SPD, Ankya etc. and those CPU needs different
types of software to find security codes of the device (Mobile). Sometimes Software can not
find exact Security Code (Password) because users give wrong codes too many times and the
user blames to the Software. This is not fault of Software but mistake of users using more times
wrong Security Code. And, Software counts the code which is used more time (Security
Code). Suppose, if you try to unlock security code 50 times as 12345 which is wrong, now box
try to tell you security code as 12345 because the devices records (mobile) this more times and
the software also finds it same as device i.e. mobile. If you bring the device after few try say 5
times, Volcano box can help to find accurate but if they brings after trying 1000 times
then....then what, get new flash from file site or from the working mobile. To find the Security
Code Mobile should be Meta Mode i.e.Live Condition (Working Condition). It should not be
Restart Condition, and not dead condition.
Anyway, lets starts from MTK CPU.

How to Find Security Code in MTK CPU?

We can find the security Code many ways. Normally we can find 7 ways in MTK CPU. If step 1
not works, then, please try Step 2, Step2 not works, then, Step three and so on:

Format Your Mobile using Volcano box. Is there Still Security Code? If yes, then go to step 2
Warning: Backup NV file before formatting MTK CPU. You can backup NV file from General
Para Option. Sometimes, IMEI corrupts, then, you have to repair as we have described above.
Step 2-MTK RX/TX CPU
1. Open MTK Tab
2 Tick "Unlock Code"
3. Tick Auto Detect Pinout
4. Click Run button
5. Hold Power Button of Mobile
6. Click Start button
7. Press and hold power button of mobile until the animation line start on the below of this
windows
8. Click on "Clear Phone-lock"

Step 3-USB MTK CPU

1. Go to Detect Tab
2. Choose Cable as "Auto Detect Cable"
3. Choose detect type as "(D+/D-) MSTAR"
4. Click DETECT button

5. After detection is completed, go to MTK interface and un-tick "Auto Detect Pinout"
6. Choose Mobile using Port from Port Refresh
7. Tick "Unlock Code"
8. Click on RUN button

That's All.
Step 4-Reading Flash File
You can also find password after reading flash file.
1. Go to MTK interface (Tab)
2. Un-tick "Auto Detect Pinout"
3. Tick "Read Flash"
4. Click on RUN button
5. Press and hold Power Button of the mobile for few seconds.
6. Save file (Note: save file also known as Backup Flash File)
7. Notice the Security Code after finishing the Flash File.
(Here Volcano has found: 1122 code)

Step 5-Analyze Code
1. Backup full Flash File

2. Open the MTK Tab (Interface)

3. Un-tick "Auto Detect Pinout"
4. Tick "Analyze Tab"
5. Click "RUN"
6. Show the Backup File (from Step 1)
7. Wait and see code on Volcano Screen

Step 6-Reading Code from Flash File
1. Backup full Flash File
2. Now, go to Tools Tab
3. Click on "Search Password"
4. Click OPEN button and show the Backup file (Step 1)
5. Tick Custom Condition (i.e. finds numbers, find characters, find all (number and character))
6. Click on Start. Wait until software reads 100%.

That's All.
7. Step 7-Write Working Flash File
If all above options not work, then, you need working flash file which no have security code.
Yes, now flash the working file to the faulty phone.

How to Find Security Code in SPD CPU?

There are 7 ways to find security code in SPD CPU. If first steps not works, then then you have
to follow another step and so on as described below:
Step 1- FORMAT
Format Your Mobile using volcano box. Is there Still Security Code? If yes, then go to step 2
Note: NV file is not important in SPD CPU like MTK still you can backup NV file if you like. You
can backup NV file from READ NV Option.

Step 2- READ IMEI and Password

1. Go to Detect Tab
2. Choose Cable as "Auto Detect Cable"
3. Choose detect type as "(D+/D-) SPD/Ankya"
4. Click DETECT button
5. Click "Set Pinout"
6. Now, go to SPD Tab
7. Tick "Read IMEI and Read Password"

8. Un-tick "Auto Detect Pinout"

9. Choose Type according to the Phone (6600D etc)

10. Click on "RUN"

Step 3- Phone Reset
1. Open SPD Tab
2. Tick "Auto Detect Pinout"
3. Tick "Phone Reset"
4. Choose Boot File According to the SPD CPU as shown below:

5. Choose Type as "USB (D+/D-)" OR COM (RX/TX)" OR "COM (RX/TX) 8800D"

(According to the phone as shown in the Picture below):

7. Choose Mobile Digonestic Port (Mobile Port, Not Box Port)

8. Click on RUN
9. Wait until the operation is completed.
(NOTE: If you choose Type as COM (RX/TX) or COM (RX/TX) 8800D then you need to hold
Power Button after clicking RUN)

Step 4- Unlock Code

1. Backup full Flash File (After Phone Reset)
2. Open the SPD Tab (Interface)
3. Un-tick "Auto Detect Pinout"
4. Tick "Unlock Code"
5. Click "RUN"
6. Show the Backup File (from Step 1)

7. Wait and see the code on Volcano Screen

That's All.
Step 5- Unlock Code Method 2
1. Backup full Flash File (After Phone Reset)
2. Open the SPD Tab (Interface)
3. Click on "Flash File" and Choose the Back up file (from Step 1)
4. Un-tick "Auto Detect Pinout"
5. Tick "Unlock Code"
6. Click "RUN"
7. Show the Backup File (from Step 1)
8. Wait and see the codes on Volcano Screen

Step 6- Reading Code from Flash File

1. Backup full Flash File
2. Now, go to Tools Tab

How to Find Security Code in MSTAR CPU?

There are 7 ways to find security code in Mstar CPU. If first Step fail, then, follow the another
step and so on as described below:
Step 1- FORMAT
Only 8533C CPU can be format that means except 8533c CPU, other type of CPU can not format
using Volcano Box.
If your mobile is 8533C, then, format the mobile using volcano box. Is there Still Security Code?
If yes, then go to step 2.

Step 2- Phone Reset Method 1

1. Go to Detect Tab
2. Choose Detect as "(D+/D-) Mstar"

3. Click on Detect button

4. Wait until software detects pinout of the mobile

5. Go to MSTAR Tab
6. Tick "Phone Reset"
7. Click on RUN
(Note: No need to un-tick or tick "Auto Detect Pinout" because when you do the job From
Detect Tab, it remains un-checked)

Step 3- Phone Reset Method 2
1. Power ON Mobile with Sim card and Battery
2. Connect USB Cable Mobile to Computer
3. After this, you will see two options in your Device (mobile) 1. Mass Storage and 2. COM port.
4. Now, Choose COM Port from your mobile and wait few seconds. Computer will make

Separate Port for this Device.

5. Now, Open Volcano Software Mstar Interface.
6. Choose Mobile Diagonestic Com Port (that is detected Step 4).
7. Tick "Phone Reset" option
8. Click on "RUN"

Step-7 Flash For Unlock
The name of this tool "Flash for Unlock" is clearly tells you that this is the tool to unlock for
security code (users Code) if all other methods fail. This tool will remove the security code of
the file from "Backup File" and writes the same file to the phone. So, remember this tool is
same is "Write File" but little bit different is that this tool remove security code from the flash
file and writes file to the phone.
1. Backup Full Flash File and Save to the Hard disk.

2. Now, go to "Mstar" Tab

3. Click on "Flash File" and Show the location of the Backup file and press "OK"
4. Choose Boot File as "Built-in_Default".
Note: Sometimes, you have to change boot file if necessary.
5. Tick "Flash for unlock"
6. Tick "Auto-detect Pinout"

7. Choose "Baud Rate" different if necessary

8. Click on "Run"
9. When Computer asks you "Do you read Full Flash from this phone as backup? We strongly
recommended you before do anything Read Full Flash from Phone. Do you want to continue?
Click "Yes"
10. Wait until the operation is completed.

In Coolsand CPU, only RX/TX and USB method (Using Original Cable) supported.
There are 5 ways to find security code in Coolsand / RDA CPU. If first Step fails, then follow

Step 1- FORMAT
You can format RX/TX and USB method. No Need to mention Flash Type and Flash Size, Just
Click on FORMAT Button. That's All. Still, there is security code, then, follow the next step.

1. Go to Coolsand & RDA Tab
2. Choose Boot File as Built-in BOOT_B

Pattern Lock
How to remove Pattern Lock?
Pattern Lock is one kind of security code in the device (device). When there is pattern lock you
can see the following screen:

To open the pattern lock, you have too many ways. But, simple ways is as follows:
1. Open the Volcano Box Software
2. Go to the MTK/SPD/Mstar/Coolsand interface
3. Read Full Flash File and save it on the Hard Disc
4. Now, Untick Auto Detect Pinout
5. Tick Unlock Code

6. Click RUN button

7. Show the location of the Saved file (Step 3) and click Open
8. Wait Operation is completed.

Now, you can see many Privacy Lock codes on the Volcano Screen as shown above. Among
them, one may your Pattern Lock code. In my case, the device code is 1235.
Now, Open Mobile with battery and Try to slide your finger 1 to 3 and then 5. (1 to 2, 2 to 3 and
3 to 5). Check the picture:

NV (CNV)
NV file is Non Volatile Memory. NV stores the memory without voltage and also supports
when you disconnect the battery. Did you notice, when you disconnect the battery, the device
(mobile) time will change because, time needs continuous voltages but when you remove the
battery, then, security code etc not changes that means it does not require voltages. In NV such
memories are saved which doesn't require voltages like

readwrite NV file. We can't write NV file in Dead Phone or Restarting Phone.

Why We need back of NV when we format the Chinese Mobile?

When we format the device, Network Code and Network Calibration etc are changed. So, we
need to back of NV before we start Format. If something goes wrong, then, we can restore NV
file and our device will be Okay.
Normally, you can find NV file in MTK, SPD, Coolsad and RDA CPU. It is important to back of NV
file from MTK, Coolsand, RDA CPU but from SPD CPU, not important. Still, you can backup NV
file from SPD CPU. Volcano Box supports backing up NV from MTK, SPD, COOLSAND, RDA CPUs.

How to back up NV file in MTK CPU?

We have to follow these steps to backup NV file from the Volcano Box:
1. Open the Volcano Software in MTK interface.
2. Tick "General Para"

5. Press and hold the power of the device (Mobile) for few seconds.

1. Open the Volcano Software in Coolsand & RDA interface
2. Choose Boot File "Built-in BOOT_B"
3. Tick "Format"
4. Tick "Auto Detect Pinout"
5. Choose Flash Type as "Auto"

6. Choose the Flash Type Auto.

7. Choose "Baud Rate" if necessary (No need to Specify Baud Rate. Still this will be necessary in
some cases)
8. Click on "RUN" button

9. Press and hold the Power Button until software detects mobile's pin-out and starts boot
downloading
10. When Computer ask "Do you read Full Flash from this phone as backup", Click "Yes" if
you have already backed up Flash File
11. Click "Auto" and "OK" respectively.
12. Press and hold on Power Button of the mobile for few seconds.
13. When computer ask Do you read nvdate from this phone backup? click "Yes" if you
have taken back.
14. Wait until operation is completed.

while others support another type of boot-key. Boot key might be different one mobile to

6. Go to "MSTAR Tab"
7. Tick "Read Flash"
8. Untick "Auto Detect Pinout"

3. Tick "Read File"

7. Choose "Baud Rate" if necessary (No need to Specify Baud Rate. Still this will be necessary in
some cases)

8. Click on "RUN" button

9. Press and hold the Power Button for few seconds.
10. Wait until software reads full flash and save it to your Hard Disc for future use.

Note:
Your Readed Flash Size is Correctly Backed up?
If the Read Flash Size is less than the "info" showed by Volcano Box using "Built-in_BOOT_b"
and Flash Type as "Auto" then you have to change Boot type as "Built in Auto" and you have to
choose flash type manually from drop down list as shown above and have to read flash file
again.
In "Built in Auto" you have to specify Flash Type from drop down list and you have to read Flash
again. So remember, sometimes it is necessary to specify "Flash Type", "Flash Size" and "Baud
Rate" at the time of reading flash file.
2. Read File - USB Method (Using Original USB Cable + Battery)
You can also Read Flash File with the help of original USB Cable and Device Battery.
1. Open the Volcano Software in Coolsand & RDA interface
2. Choose Boot File "Built-in BOOT_B"
3. Tick "Read File"
4. Un-tick "Auto-detect Pinout"

5. Tick "USB mode"

6. Choose "Baud Rate" if necessary

Your Read Flash Size is Correct?

5. Click on "Clear Pinout" first
6. Choose the Same Pinout as detected above manually (Detected in Step 4.)
7. Click on "Set Pinout"
8. Go to SPD Interface
9. Untick "Auto Detect Pinout"
10. Tick "Write Flash"
11. Choose Boot File as "Builtin Boot14 (6820/8810)
12. Choose Baud Rate if necessary
13. Click on "Flash File" and Choose necessary Flash File

How to Solve U disk Error using Volcano Box?

U disk is the physical memory inside the mobile and which is related to application and games
data. The total U disc size of the mobile is around 30 MB depends of the device. The U disc
appears when you have error on application and game (10 MB Data around).
After inserting USB Cable to the Computer, You will see two Options: 1. charging and 2. U Disk.

Actually, U disk is the Removable Drive which you can be seen from Explorer of the windows.

The U Disk has seen in the Sking Series Mobiles like S9300, S9220, S929 etc. which have mostly
SPD 6530 CPU. You can remove this error using Volcano Box as mentioned below:
1. Open Volcano Box 1.7.5 or above (new version)
2. Open SPD Tab
3. Choose Auto Detect Pinout Type as "USB (D+/D-)"
4. Tick "Write Flash"
5. Select Built-in-Boot_12 (6530)
6. Click on Flash File button. Choose the Location of the Flash File. Here, you cant see such a
file because of the file format. The file format is *.img. Now, Click on Flash Type, choose "All
Files". Now you can see the File type as *.img. Double Click on it.
7. Browse Path of your Desire Flash file
8. Make sure your select correct flash file for your desire mobile
9. Click on "Run"
10. Wait until process will finish.

That's All

Read File Completed but not Saved, What Should I do for it?
1. Open the Volcano Software Installed Folder
2. Check for file as tmp_6
3. The file tmp_6 read by the software but you could not save it
4. Rename tmp_6 as you like with *.bin extension.
5-Now, you can use this file to write or read user code etc.

Touch Calibration
Sometimes when you format the Device (Mobile) Touch Calibration Data deletes and you can't
call because you can't access to the device properly. Suppose, when Touch Screen Broken and
mistakenly you have formatted the mobile without backing up Flash File. You can calibrate
Touch screen replacing small or big touch screen than the mobile has. But, this is tedious
process and waste of time also.
Volcano has inbuilt Touch Calibration function. So, you do not waste time doing bla bal bal for
this.
You can calibrate Touch Screen 3 ways:
1. RXTX method
2. D+/D Method
3. Flashing Method
1. RXTX method:
The following ways you can calibrate Touch Screen:

1. Open Volcano in MTK interface

2. Tick "Auto Detect Pinout"
3. Tick "Touch Screen"
4. Choose "Boot File" if necessary
5. Choose "Baud Rate" if necessary
6. Click on "RUN"
7. Press and hold the Power Button until software detects mobile's pin-out and starts boot
downloading.
8. Click on "Start" in new windows and wait few seconds
9. Click on "Calibrate Automatically"
10. Wait until you see the message "Screen Calibration Successfully".
That's All.
2. D+/D Method:
The following ways you can calibrate Touch Screen:
1. Open Volcano Software in "Detect" Tab
2. Choose "D+/D (Mstar)"
3. Click on "Detect" button
4. Click on "Set Pinout"

5. Go to MTK interface
6. Untick "Auto Detect Pinout"
7. Tick "Touch Screen"
8. Choose "Boot File" if necessary
9. Choose "Baud Rate" if necessary
10. Choose "Mobile Port
11. Click on "RUN"
12. Choose "Mobile Port"
13. Untick "Power Off/On automatically before Operation"
14 Click on "Start" in new windows and wait few seconds.
15. Click on "Calibrate Automatically"
16. Wait until you see the message "Screen Calibration Successfully".

3. Flashing:
You have to save Flash File before "Format" the mobile. Saving Flash File means also saving
Calibration Data. Sometimes, Calibration Data will be lost after format. The ultimate solution is
to take flash File BACK UP. SPD Calibration is only possible if you have backup data or you have
to flash the mobile with working Flash File from working Device.

Network
There might be several reasons when there is no network in the Device. Among them, some
reasons are:
1. IMEI Corrupted
2. NV data Corrupted
3. Country Lock
4. Other Problem
5. Hardware
You can fix network 4 ways if there is no signal on the device:
1. IMEI Repairing
2. NV files Writing
3. Fix Signal

4. SP Unlock
IMEI repairing and the NV Writing are already discussed previous topic. So, we are going to
focus Fix signal and Unlock here:

Sometime, there might be problem of signal which may caused by the software and which
could be fixed "Fix Signal" function of the Volcano Box Software. "Fix Signal" only supports
6253 CPU Yet.
You can fix the signal of 6253 CPU following ways:
1. MTK RX/TX Method
2. MTK D+/D Method

1. MTK RX/TX Method

1. Open the Volcano Software in MTK interface
2. Tick "Fix Signal"
3. Tick "Auto Detect Pinout"
4. Choose Boot File if necessary
5. Choose Baud Rate if necessary
6. Click "RUN"
7. Press and hold the Power Button until software detects mobile's pin-out and starts boot
downloading.

8. Choose Mood 1 or 2 according to the Device (Mobile)

9. Click on "Start"

12. Click on "Fix Signal"

You can fix the signal of 6253 CPU following ways:

8. Untick "Auto Detect Pinout"
9. Choose Boot File if necessary
10. Choose Port Refresh to get back Mobile Diagnostic Port (Note: Mobile Diagnostic Port =
Port that is occupied by the Device i.e. Mobile)
11. Choose Baud Rate if necessary
12. Click "RUN"
13. Hold Power Button of the Device (Mobile)
14. Choose Port Refresh to get back Mobile Diagnostic Port again.
15. Choose Mood 1 or 2 according to the Device (Mobile)
16. Untick "Power OffOn automatically before Operation"
17. Click on "Start"

18. Press and hold Power Button until the animation starts.

19. Choose "Mode" 1 or 2 depending of the Device

20. Click on "Fix Signal"

5. SP Unlock (Network unlock)

MTK mobile only supports SP UNLOCK with RX/TX method. You can unlock (Network Lock)
using the following 2 ways (Both Necessary):

Volcano Box New Module for MTK SP Unlock & Imei repair!!
We are happy to announce a Brand new module for MTK mobiles. At the moment it have lot of
Exciting Features like Sp unlock of almost All MTK phones which have Unlocking data in its NVM
even you can unlock phones which is not in list and it have Sp lock data in its NVM. Also you can
repair imei of most MTK phones with AT mode. This rewrites whole new Module just for
Unlocking & Repair imei!!
Let me introduce you whole new Module:

Go to MTK TAB then find MTK New Platform V1.01 and open it.

It will look like this:

This module has to ability to work in two type of MTK phones:

1. General Type phones.
2. RSA Protection type phones.
Here is Supported List models.. Keep in mind we can unlock almost all MTK phones which have
Service Provider locked data in their NVM whatever phone is in list or NOT. You can do it !!

How can I Unlock Phone which are locked on any service provider (Country

You have too many ways for unlock

2. Choose Cable as "Auto Select Cable" and Choose Detect Type as "(RX/TX)MTK CPU"
3. Click on "Detect" and Press and hold power button of the mobile until it shows the Pinout of
the mobile
NOTE: Do not click on Set Pinout Yet.

3. Now, go to "MTK" tab and click on "MTK New Platform V1.01"

4. Choose Boot Type as "MTK Generic Phone or "MTK RSA Phones"
5. Now, Choose the "Phone Brand" from drop-down list
6. Choose the "Phone Model" from drop-down list
7. Now, Go back to "Detect Tab"
8. Click on "Set Pinout"
9. Come Back to "MTK New Platform V1.01"
10. Choose the operation you want to do eg. Read Only, Unlock file, Relock file
11- Click on Read info
12- It will read your all details include your Network code etc

This is an example of unlocking of Alcatel OT606 model.

Note: If your phone name is not listed in MTK GENERIC PHONE, then, select any generic

How to reset User code from this new module?

companies are basically import phones from china. Even they are branded but in fact those

Tight Security and mostly phones are International brands like Motorola & Alcatel etc. )
2- Select proper model
3- Connect cable (Keep in mind You have to connect exact cable for some phones Pin finder will
not help. They can detect Rx TX but they will not boot your phone so do Google and find it Or
check in forum which cable is for which mobile for example if you have ZTE-281 you can find Rx
TX from Volcano box pin finder but simple Rx TX will not help in booting. For this phone you
have to use UART cable which has Ignition like LG Gs-102 cable just plug it and it will work fine.
Some phones need to be disassemble and you have to sold RX/TX in Test points and some
phones no need any special method they will be done with simple Volcano box Pin finder. Or
just use your desire UART cable and use it on any other Uni-box and select Uni-box port in

What is Backup Calibration?

Backup calibration is for reading NVM area from almost all MTK phones which you can handle
to boot phones with Volcano box. This is useful to unlock Non supported phones + you can save
backups and write on faulty phones which have no service or code not accept after damage by
other devices or some phone after format ffs have no service you can write backup files on it.
Keep in mind this is BETA and we are not responsible of any damage cause of using this feature.

How to unlock HUAWEI U Series Phone with Volcano Box
1. Open the Volcano Software in Tool Interface
2. Click on Huawei U Series

3. Choose the Product from drop down List

4. Remove Micro SD Card from the phone.
5. Check battery level (it's important, without battery phone can't connect to PC)
6. Remove battery from phone for 5 second and then replace it back to the Phone.
7. Connect Phone to USB and put phone in FAST BOOT MODE
Note:
1. Make sure it is in real Fast Boot Mode and other mode will Kill signal on phone) then let it
install drivers, if driver conflict will not work ok). Fast Boot Notice (if keep pressed for 5sec and
it s stuck on clepsydra or Logo but not recognized correctly, you need to keep it pressed for 5
more seconds.
2. Phone will hang on white screen with little circle in the middle or on logo = that is fast boot.
Pc will recognize as Android Sooner Single ADB interface

8. Click on Unlock.

You can make any UART Cable or any Ignition cable for Samsung, LG etc. with the help of
Volcano Box. Volcano Box gives required resistance value and helps to make two cables short
from the software. You can short any pin to Ground by the function of the Volcano Box. For
example, you need to make Samsung C3303K Uart cable. Check the Original cable of C3303K
Uart that is available to buy in the market.

This Picture clearly tells that the Original Cable of C3303K has 5 pins:
1-VCC
2-RX
3-TX
4- Pin 4 shorts with pin 5 with 510k Resistor
5- GND
Now, we will make same Cable with the help of the Volcano Box function like this:

As Original Cable, Pin number 1 is VCC so we Pick up VCC to 01 pin, Pin number 2 is RX in
original Cable, so we pick up RX and drop down to 02 Pin, Pin number 5 is GND in the Original
Cable, so we Drag GND to 05, Pin number 4 is short with Pin number 5 with 510k Resistance in
the original cable, so we Drag REA to 04, and REB to 05. Because REA and REB has Specific
Resistance Value (In this Case 510K) between Pin 4 and Pin 5.

Consider before starting Unlock Process

What you have to think before start to unlock Xperia Series by Volcano Box are:
1. Check the firmware version: Mobile firmware must be 2.1 or higher. If the mobile
firmware version is lower than 2.1 Version, then, you need to flash the device with 2.1 or
higher firmware version.
2. Best Operating System: The best operating System to unlock Xperia series is XP. If
your system is Vista or Windows 7, then, you need administrative pravellage to run
volcano box. For this, Right click Volcano Box icon and select as "run as administrator".
3. Disable your Antivirus or firewall before starting unlock process. Sometimes, Antivirus
or Firewall can delete important files and also hangs while unlocking or detecting ADB
devices at the time of unlocking. So better disable those kinds of firewalls and re-install
the application (Volcano Box Software) again if you think antivirus already deleted some
data.

4. Before you start unlocking process, better you Plug the device (Mobile) with USB
Cable and install the driver previously. You will find the driver on the following location
in case of Windows XP:
C:\Program Files\VolcanoBox\Drivers\SonyXperia
on the following location, you will see :
1. Non_TP_Drivers and
2. TP_Drivers
If your mobile is related to TP (Test Point), then, install the Driver from "TP_Driver"
folder and if this is not related with TP, then, you have to install it from
"Non_TP_Drivers" folder.
5. Please Remove the Sim card from the Phone but do not remove the Memory Card.
Leave it on the Phone.
6. Make sure Device (Mobile) Should not be Rooted and Device doesn't have custom
rom on it.
