Birthstones
There are twelve signs of the zodiac; Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra,
Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces.
I am constantly being asked - during the course of my workshops and seminars - to
recommend an appropriate stone which corresponds to a particular birth sign.
In my experience the only accurate way in which to ascertain the correct birthstone
for any individual is for that person to visit a properly qualified astrologist and for a
detailed chart to be constructed based on the person's place of birth, date of birth and
the exact time of birth.
Any other method is too vague and generalized; and most certainly cannot possibly
be considered seriously!
A few years ago, to prove my theory, I carefully read as many books as I could lay my
hands on which contained information relating to the astrological use of gemstones.
From all the information available I then compiled my own comprehensive list,
birthsign by birthsign, encompassing all the 'recommended' birthstones which each
book suggested would be appropriate for each sign of the zodiac.
When my task was completed I discovered that every birth-sign had at least nine
gemstones which, according to all the books, would be suitable for people being born
under that particular sign of the zodiac.
However, using my own intuition, logic and a little common-sense, I managed to
produce the following chart which I find useful as a guide (and a guide only!) when I
am asked to recommend a particular gemstone for someone's birth-sign:
Aries- jasper, ruby
Taurus- rose quartz, lapis lazuli, carnelian, sapphire
Gemini- citrine, rock crystal, tigers eye, agate, rutile quartz.
Cancer- olivine, emerald, moonstone

Leo- quartz crystal, diamond, agate

Virgo- carnelian, agate, jasper, sapphire
Libra- emerald, aventurine, jade, sapphire
Scorpio- garnet, bloodstone, ruby, jasper, beryl
Sagittarius- topaz, jacinth, obsidian snowflake
Capricorn- smoky quartz, ruby, onyx, jet
Aquarius- turquoise, malachite, aquamarine, moonstone
Pisces- amethyst, opal, moonstone
Whilst it is always acceptable to give a friend - or your loved one - a birthstone
pendant or necklace, please remember that the stones that will work best for you - or
your friends - are the ones whose 'vibrational energies' are most closely compatible
with the person who is going to wear it!

The bright purple Amethyst was originally very expensive. Ancient

Greeks decorated goblets and other expensive pieces with them. Often
worn for protection from contagious disease, the Amethyst was also
thought to bring tranquility to the wearer's life

March

The Aquamarine has been thought to bring intelligence, youth and

happiness. The Bloodstone, another March gem, was carried by Roman
soldiers to keep them from bleeding to death

April

The Diamond, stone of April, is known as the "fire of love." Diamonds

bring love and protect from evil. They are also thought of as the frozen
tears of past princesses

May

This month has several stones, the main one being the Emerald, where
value depends on the color and number of flaws. This brilliant green
stone reinforces love and creates harmony in the family

June

The Moonstone protects against danger at sea and is thought to bring

financial gain and protect against turbulence. Another present day
stone for June is the Pearl which is said to preserve modesty, chastity
and purity

July

The Ruby protects its wearer from fear and financial stress while its
strength banishes evil spirits

August

The stone of August is the Sardonyx. It is said to create courage and

make the most timid brave. A present day addition is the Peridot, a
clear, normally green stone of gem quality Olivine

September

The Blue Sapphire often heals the body of illness and despair

October

The mystical Opal is filled with all the colors of the rainbow.
Historically, this stone was considered to cause disaster to those who
wore it; but today it is said to bring only good fortune and happiness.
The Tourmaline was added to the list in more current times

November

The Topaz symbolizes good fortune and longevity. According to

legend, this golden stone possesses the power to cure many diseases.
Citrine, a transparent yellow quartz gem many of the best of which
come from Brazil, is a current day birthstone for this month

December

The vibrant turquoise was believed to be a defender against bad luck to

those that wore it. It has been said that cowboys always carry a blue
turquoise on their journey's so that they might be blessed with success.
A present day addition is the Zircon, whose naturally found brown
clear crystals are heated to turn into the beautiful blue gemstone

Cairns
In earlier times, throughout the world, people built mounds or piles of stones. These
were sometimes formed to mark the passage of travelers, or to commemorate some
historic even, but such cairns usually had ritual significance.
In magickal thought, cairns are places of power. They concentrate the energies of the
stones used to create them. Cairns are rooted in the Earth but lift upward to the sky,
symbolically representing the interconnectedness of the physical and spiritual realms.
During outdoor circles, a small cairn, composed of no more than nine or eleven rocks,
can be fashioned as each point of the Circle of Stones. This can be done prior to
creating the circle itself.
The next time you're in some wild, lonely place with a profusion of stones, clear a
place among them and sit. Visualize a magickal need. As you visualize, grasp a nearby stone. Feel the energy beating within it - the power of the Earth, the power of
nature. Place it on the cleared ground. Pick up another stone, still visualizing you
need, and set it next to the first.
Still visualizing, continue to add stones, building them into a small pile. Keep adding
stones until you feel them vibrating and pulsating before you. Place the last rock on
top of the cairn with firm ritual intent - affirm to yourself, to the cairn and the Earth
that with this final magickal act you're manifesting your need.
Place your hands on either side of the pile. Give it your energy through your
visualization. Nurse it. Feed it strength and see your need as being fulfilled.
Then leave the cairn alone to do its work.

Charging Crystals
Crystals, as many of you know, are extremely useful for practitioners of the Magickal
arts. They can be used to channel power, to store power, to heal, and many other
ways. Due to space considerations, I have chosen to limit myself to the charging
aspect in this article.
The first and most important part of charging a crystal is choosing the crystal itself.
For most general uses, Quartz is the best one. For specific use, there are many others.
I have found that Diamonds are useful in storing Good energy, and Zircons for Evil
energy. If you have a specific purpose in mind, please consult one of the many fine
tables of crystal affinities.
The next step, and also important, especially the first few times, is to prepare yourself
for the actual channeling of energy. In my case, music helps, as well as pranayama
and other forms of breath control. The first one I used is simple.
Pranayama, simply, is control of breath. Most forms amount to hyperventilation or
sub-ventilation. The one I used first, and still use, is this: take four quick inhalations,
filling the lungs. This should be over the space of about one and a half seconds. Then
exhale in four short bursts, again over one and a half seconds. Repeat as necessary.
The first few times this is done, I recommend you desist after about one minute. Over
the course of time, this can and should be increased, but until you are used to the
effect this gives, a shorter time is suggested.
Now that you're in the mood, take the crystal in your right-hand (left hand for those
of you who are lefties). Visualize a door within the heart of the crystal. Until this
visualization is firm and steady, wait. Then open the door. Behind it you should see a
store of diffuse energy, which varies with the type of the crystal. Some crystals,
usually the inferior ones, have little or nothing back here. These are generally not
good to use.
Close the door, but keep it in mind. That was just to check on its energy. Decide
which energy you wish it to house. Usually only one will be needed, such as for
talismans and storage of energy for later use, but in some cases, such as a divination
tool, more is suggested/required. Do not try this on your first attempt!
attempt You will fail!
The energy you will be handling is powerful, and trying to handle more than one
world at a time is strenuous. Trying to handle all three, plus personal and other
energies, is straining to the limit. As with all other bodily systems, an ability used
beyond its capacity will overload and break or refuse to perform, as with a man trying

to lift 300 lb barbells on his first try at weight lifting.

For general use, I find nature's energy is best for multipurpose storage. Those in the
Church of Set would probably find differently, as would those in the Church of
Christ. Use what you feel comfortable with. Now, the fun part. For the three major
energies, I find there are certain ways of drawing them tat are easiest on the
practitioner. For Good energy, try it like this: Form a cone with the base connecting
to your skull in the region just between and above your eyebrows. "suck" the energy
(visualize it as you will, I use a light, golden yellow) into the cone, then through a
tube into your brain. The visualization on this is a bit tricky, but it can be done.
For Nature's energy, visualize a "hose" going down into the Earth from the base of
your spine. This hose should ideally connect with the center of the Earth, but some
people simply cannot conceive the distance involved with that, and can therefore not
visualize it. Go as deep as you can, with time, you should improve. I "see" this energy
as a ruddy, glowing red, as with magma. Use what works. Draw this energy up the
tube, then through your spinal column into the brain.
Now, the Evil energy. This is tricky for me, but here's how I do it. Place the feet
together (if they already are, so much the better! It means this isn't uncomfortable for
you, as it is for me.) and visualize a siphon, with the hose connecting to a cone
connecting to your feet, about two inches in diameter, one inch on either foot. Then,
on the other end, a hose entering a black, inky void (or whatever color you perceive
evil energy to be). One last connection: another hose running from that area of your
feet to the previously mentioned area in the skull. This aligns nicely with the Chakra
theory, to which I subscribe, in that a Chakral spinal-type column connects all the
major power centers of ones body. If you know this system, so much the better! Draw
the energy through the siphon (some-times visualizing the bulb on the siphon
squeezing helps) into the feet, then into the skull, then into the brain.
Other objects you wish to draw energy from, use the door analogy/visualization given
above (for powerful things such as the Tarot, I see it as a gate more than a door.
Again, whatever works for you), and draw from your use hand. If you plan on using
that object again, take only a token amount of energy, and don't forget to close the
door!

Personal energy: This varies so much with the individual! Some people draw from
their auras, some from the Chakras, some from the Astral Body. Just use the method
you feel most comfortable with. For those of you who have no preference, or no
knowledge of such things, I use the Astral approach. I draw a bit of the substance of
the Astral body, generally the feet, into the brain. After I finish all else, I "spread out"

the Astral body to make up for this loss. Astral bodies do heal.
Well, that's most of it. Draw the energy you need, then draw from the crystal. Take it
in your use hand again, open that door, and take out the energy, and bring it to the
brain. Generally, I use the hose again, connecting to that spot in the skull, but this
one generally runs inside your body, such as along the arm bones, then up the neck
bone. Mix the energy up. If it helps, visualize a cosmic Cuisinart or whatever. If it
won't mix, like oil and water, you have failed. This crystal will not hold this energy.
Give up, put back the crystals power, ground yourself, and try again later with
another energy.
Once you've achieved the mix, refill the crystal. Sometimes, the energy won't go back
in. This usually means you've put too much of the energy you're using in, and not
enough of the crystal's own energy. Bring it back to the brain, and remix. How do
you refill the crystal, you ask? Switch hands on the crystal, then visualize that handy
hose again, but this time flow backwards, through the door.
There will come a point, especially early on in your practice, that the crystal is full
when you have energy left over. Slam that door and ground yourself (later), don't
overfill it! Doors have their bursting point, and that's a wonderful way to destroy a
good crystal.
OK, it's later. You've finished the job at hand but have all this energy left! There are
many ways of grounding energy, use the one you are comfortable with. The one I use
is simply grounding it. Take that handy-dandy all-purpose hose again, connect it to
the base of the spine, and thence into the Earth. Flip the switch to reverse, and push
that energy out! Be careful not to let out yourself as well!

Charging Stones for Magick and Ritual

Before you use your gems and stones for magick, you should charge them to match
your intent. Bless them with the four elements, then hold the gem or stone in your
hand. Rub the stone lightly between the fingers of your dominant hand, then place
the stone on your third-eye chakra (in the center of your forehead) while saying:

In the names of the Lord and Lady (or deity of your choice), I conjure thee, O stone
of earth, to assist me in my magickal working. By the moon and the stars, may you be
blessed and empowered to (name intent here).
So mote it be.

Choosing Your Crystals

All crystals and gemstones 'vibrate' on their own individual frequency. In that respect
they are similar to us human beings.
We have all had the experience of meeting a perfect stranger for the very first time
and either liking that person immediately or feeling an antipathy towards them without in any way being able to explain our feelings or emotions.
To fall in perfect love is a beautiful and wondrous experience - the coming together
of two minds, two spirits and two physical bodies, both 'vibrating' on the same
beautiful frequency!
Crystals and gemstones should be chosen in exactly the same way. It is so very
important that the stones which we choose and use should 'vibrate' on a frequency as
close as possible to our own.
Individual methods of choosing crystals and gemstones vary from person to person
but normally include:
1. Close your eyes and quietly meditate for a few moments. Then open your eyes
very quickly and pick up the very first stone to which your eye becomes naturally
drawn.
2. Run your hand (either your left or right hand depending upon which you prefer
to use) over all the stones available for selection. You will soon discover that one
stone will 'stick' to your hand as if it is 'tacky' or surrounded with glue. This is
your stone.
3. Intuitively you will instinctively 'know' which stone you should choose and
which is 'right' for you! You might feel as if the stone is jumping up and down
shouting, "Me! Me! Me! Choose Me!" Or you might sense or even 'see' a strong
crystalline white light radiating from the stone and attracting you like a magnet.
4. Should you happen to be a competent dowser then you should be able to select
the most appropriate stone by using your own individual dowsing techniques.
And sometimes you truly feel as if your stones are actually choosing you!
This has often happened to me. All my most powerful and energized quartz crystals
have all arrived on my doorstep (so to speak) for a particular purpose and have a
special reason for wanting me to work with them. Normally they have been either
absolutely free or have cost me very little money.

Should you wish to choose a quartz crystal or a gemstone for one of your friends who,
perhaps, lives some distance away from you, follow exactly the same principles as if
you were choosing a personal stone for yourself but on this occasion visualize, as
strongly as possible, a picture of your friend within your mind's eye. With a little
practice you will soon discover that it is very easy to select just the right quartz
crystal or gemstone for any of your friends who are unable to choose their stones in
person for themselves.
Although more and more retail outlets are now selling crystals and gemstones there
are still many towns and cities here in the United Kingdom where it is still extremely
difficult to purchase your own crystals and stones in person.
For many people, the only real opportunity they have to select a crystal or gemstone
personally is to attend one of the regular workshops and seminars that I run under
the auspices of 'Crystal 2000'. At all these workshops and seminars there are always a
large selection of crystals, gemstones and books available for purchase.
However, there are always a great many people, living in all parts of the United
Kingdom who, for one reason or another, are unable to participate in any of these
workshops and seminars and who rely on my personal intuition to select the most
appropriate crystal or gemstone on their behalf. In such cases I find that I am either
able to work on their name 'vibration' alone or on the 'vibrations' emanating from
their original letter. From all the feedback which I receive it would certainly appear
that this method works extremely well in most instances.
Cleansing
Cleansing Your Crystals
Having now chosen your crystal or gemstone (whichever method you may have used)
it is now very important that you 'cleanse' it.
Quartz crystals and gemstones easily attract all kinds of 'vibrations'; negative as well
as positive. The stones are always 'open' to receiving impressions from everyone and
everything around them!
Your stone, which you have just selected, may well have traveled many thousands of
miles before coming to you - and may well have acquired many negative energies and
' vibrations' in its long and arduous journey to find you!
Therefore before starting to use your stone for any purpose whatsoever it is very
important that you first remove any of these unwanted negative 'vibrations' and
disharmonious energies before you commence to use your stone. You must do
everything you possibly can to ensure that only the most natural - and purest -

energies remain within your stone.

The cleansing method which you use is always a matter of personal choice,
sometimes dependent upon the amount of time which you have readily available, but
I strongly recommend that you use one of the following cleansing methods which I
myself have found to be very successful:
1. Hold your stone in either your left or right hand (according to personal
preference) and say these words, "I will and command that this stone be selfcleansing". As you repeat these few words (whether mentally or orally) you
should visualize the negative energies falling away from your stone and only the
natural, and pure, energies remaining.
2. Water is a wonderful universal cleanser. Hold your stone under cold flowing
water from the tap (cold or luke-warm water only. Never use hot water!) and,
again, visualize all the negative energies and vibrations' being washed away and
only the natural, and pure, energies remaining. When drying your stone after
cleansing in water never attempt to dry your stone with a towel or cloth. Always
allow your stone to dry naturally - preferably from the rays of the sun! The sun, of
course, is also a very powerful energizer and should be used whenever possible. If,
however, as is so often the case with our own peculiar English climate, there is
little or no sun around, then you should allow your stone to dry as naturally as
possible in the warmth within your home.
3. Immerse your stone in salt water for several hours. Dry as in (2) above.
4. Bury the stone under the earth in your garden. Our planet Earth consists of at
least one third quartz and the very strong and powerful magnetic energy field in
the actual earth will 'cleanse' your stone of all its negativity very effectively. Note:
If you should own a dog - be very careful! Dogs find it great fun to dig up
crystals..........
5. Place your stone on a large quartz crystal cluster for a few hours. The very strong
crystalline energies present within the cluster will soon neutralize any negative
energies to be found within your stone.
Dedicating Your Crystals
As all quartz crystals and gemstones respond instantly to the 'intent of will' of the
person using them, there is always the very distinct possibility that, under certain
circumstances and conditions, crystalline energy may be misused, abused or, at the
very least, misdirected.
According to Edgar Cayce, the great American seer, the downfall of Atlantis - and its
eventual destruction - was caused through the gross misuse and abuse of all the sacred
knowledge and energies by certain evil priests, who only sought eternal power and
corruption.

These evil and corrupt priests experimented by 'inter-breeding' incompatible sources

of energy and power which resulted in the creation of 'new' vibrational frequencies
that they were able to place under their personal control. These 'new' vibrations were
then implanted within the cells of other living creatures; which led to terrible
physical and mental deformities.
The 'children' of many of these deformed creatures feature in many of the myths and
legends that have been perpetuated throughout the eons of time.
Monsters, some half-man, half-beast, demons, giants; all appear to have been
'liberated' throughout the world for many thousands of years.
In the end they all had to be spiritually destroyed before they could upset the
vibrational balances within the energies of Mother Earth.
As we have seen from the above, in the wrong hands crystalline energy may be used
for evil or negative purposes. It is therefore up to each and every one of us, in our
own way, to protect our personal quartz crystals and gemstones from all such
negativity, misuse or abuse.
Crystals will always attract inquisitive minds and hands (children and adults alike!)
and many of these hands do transmit negative or unhappy 'vibrations' which your
crystal is quite easily capable of picking up!
To comprehensively protect your crystals and gemstones from all potentially harmful
energies and 'vibrations', hold your stone in your hand and say the following few
words, "I will and command that this stone be only used for the highest benefit of
myself and the people with whom I shall be working".
Your stone has now been 'cleansed' and 'dedicated' and is ready for 'programming'.
Programming Your Crystals
All quartz crystals and gemstones will respond to the 'intent' of your own personal
will; whether in word or in thought.
By simply wishing - or visualizing - the crystalline energy to be used in a particular
way - it will be! It really is that simple.
Quartz crystals are usually 'programmed' for the following purposes:-



a) Meditation
b) Healing
c) Absent Healing
d) Manifesting

a) Meditation
Throughout the world - every day of the week, every minute of every day - countless
thousands of people practice their own form of meditation. Each person finds solace
and comfort in their own particular way.
By holding a quartz crystal or an amethyst in your hand whilst participating in
whichever type of meditation is appropriate to your own individual needs, you will
enhance and enrich the spiritual depths of your own meditative experience.
The quartz crystal or amethyst enables you to undertake a new and wondrous journey
within the inner recesses of your soul. Unknown pathways, hitherto previously
uncharted, will open up in front of you.
A new dimension of self-expression will rise to the surface and expand your inner
consciousness and awareness.
The amethyst, of course, is well known for being able to relieve mental and physical
stress and tension. It is the stone containing inner peace and tranquility; the stone of
sublime relaxation.
Every member of your meditation circle or group should have their very own piece of
quartz crystal or amethyst to hold throughout the meditation session. As time passes,
perhaps very slowly at first, each person will gradually become aware that their
breathing has become far deeper and far more rhythmical and they have now entered
a completely new world of inner peace and harmony.
All meditation rooms would greatly benefit from having large quartz crystals placed
at all four corners of the room with their single-terminated points directed towards
the center of the room. The crystals should be placed either on the floor or affixed to
the corners of the ceiling.
Each of the four quartz crystals in the meditation room should be 'programmed' to
project gentle, loving, relaxing, crystalline energy towards all those present within
the Meditation group. The quartz crystals will then generate a field of positive
crystalline energy surrounding everyone in the room.

In addition to every member of the meditation group holding their own individual
amethyst or quartz crystal, a large amethyst or quartz crystal cluster may be placed in
the middle of the group. This large cluster should then be 'programmed' to release
beautiful cosmic crystalline energies into every corner of the room.
It is very important that one member of the meditation group should be nominated to
look after the group's amethyst or quartz crystal cluster - and to make absolutely
certain that it is properly 'cleansed', 'dedicated' and 'programmed'.
Whilst holding your crystal or amethyst when meditating with music you will often
discover that some quite amazing effects are being produced. On some occasions you
might even be able to 'see' the music in terms of color and shape. Even should you be
just listening to a piece of music whilst holding your stone - and not even consciously
trying to meditate -you will find the depth of experience greatly enriched by the
presence of your crystal or amethyst.
Whenever harmonious music is being played in the presence of your crystal or
amethyst, the mood and thoughts of the composer become deeply embedded within
the very heart of the crystal and if you 'listen' to the crystal afterwards, with your
inner ear, you will often be able to pick up the esoteric meaning of the music itself.
You may use your crystal or amethyst in so very many ways when meditating. Do not
be afraid to experiment and try new methods. Listen to what your crystal is saying
and try to respond accordingly. You will find the results truly amazing and very
worth while.
b) Healing
Once you have chosen your quartz crystal - and 'cleansed' and 'dedicated' it - you are
ready to commence using it for healing purposes.
It is very important to note, however, that for best results your quartz crystal should
only be used for either healing or meditation. Not for both! The 'vibrations' and
'energies' used in healing and meditation are very different and to use the same
quartz crystal for both occasions would result in the dissipation of the crystal's unique
energies. Quartz crystals are, in all reality, only 'tools'. By themselves they can only
be described as passive; but when they become activated by the human mind they can
become extremely powerful indeed.
Each and every one of us, as beings of the human species, possess an inherent healing
energy. In the majority of people, of course, this healing ability lies totally dormant
and inactive.

But when we possess the knowledge to enable us to 'channel' our own healing energy
through our quartz crystal friends we are then able to amplify this healing power and
the resultant energy that we have ourselves created - ours, that is, in conjunction
with that of our crystal - may be used for many positive healing purposes.
Even though you may not wish to become a qualified crystal healing therapist
yourself there are still plenty of opportunities for you to use your quartz crystal to
heal your family and friends.
When my youngest child, Cameron, was only a few months old, I returned home one
day after having given a crystal healing workshop to discover that he was very ill. My
wife, Judith, had taken him to our local doctor who had told her that if he did not
improve within the next couple of days he would have to go into the hospital.
Obviously, I had to do something! When Cameron was ready for bed that evening I
cradled him in my arms and placed an electro-crystal therapy 'wand' on his stomach.
I also held my personal healing quartz crystal and directed its healing energy to
completely envelop Cameron's body. I gave him crystal healing for only thirty
minutes, at the end of which, my little Cameron was fast asleep.
The next morning, he was almost completely cured! And so there was no need for
Judith to take him back to the doctor or for him to go into hospital.
When treating a patient the following guide-lines may prove helpful:At the beginning of the healing session you should hold your quartz crystal in
whichever hand feels 'right' to you; and calmly attune yourself to the inner energies
of your quartz crystal. You will probably experience energies 'throbbing' within your
hand.
Now direct the single-terminated end of your healing quartz crystal towards your
patient and gently move the crystal around the perimeter of their whole body in a
clockwise direction. As you do this, at the same time visualize a blue-white
crystalline light emanating from the apex of the patient's body and flowing
towards the patient and surrounding him. Do this several times. This will help to
strengthen the electromagnetic field of energy around the physical body of the
patient.
The single-terminated end of the quartz crystal should then be directed towards that
part of the patient's body which you believe or 'sense' to be most in need of healing.

Visualize, as strongly as possible, a lovely blue-white light emanating from the apex
of your crystal once again and direct this light, like a laser beam, to that part of the
patient's body where you feel that the healing is most needed.
This lovely blue-white becomes stronger and stronger, brighter and brighter, and the
energy between the crystal and your patient slowly begins to intensify.
The crystal healing session itself may, in theory at any rate, last any length of time,
but intuitively you will become aware when the time is right to bring the session to
an end.
To finish the crystal healing treatment session you should visualize the blue-white
light gently flowing back into your quartz crystal. Once more you should direct and
project the healing energies around the perimeter of your patient's body in a
clockwise direction. Then allow your patient to relax for a few minutes.
Many of my own patients regularly fall fast asleep so it is very important that you
bring them back to the present in as relaxed manner as possible.
Whenever practical it is best for your patient not to have to drive a car for some time
after the crystal healing session as the patient often becomes so very 'de-stressed' and
almost 'spaced out' that it can take some considerable time to reorient themselves!
Whilst I quite often do discuss a patient's medical history with them before offering
any form of treatment, from my own personal experience I have found that it is not
always absolutely necessary to know, in advance, what is medically wrong with my
patient.
One lady whom I visited on one occasion whilst I was in London was keen for me to
demonstrate some of my crystal healing techniques upon her! I duly obliged by first
directing some crystalline healing energy towards her third eye chakra.
Immediately she told me that she had felt the crystal healing energy 'hit' her third
eye and then travel downwards through her body and into her stomach. Apparently,
so it transpired, she had had a serious operation on her stomach a couple of weeks
previously (which I had no way of knowing!) and, naturally, that was the part of her
body which most needed the crystal healing energies.
My own personal believe is that all disease occurs purely as a result of an imbalance of
our normal bodily 'vibrations'. Therefore, whatever health condition from which we

may suffer, however serious or however mild, whether it be cancer, multiple

sclerosis, tumors or simply a dose of influenza or the common cold, the basic
treatment remains much the same.
All that is really necessary is for the disharmonious or imbalanced 'vibrations' to be
re-harmonized, re-energized and re-balanced. This may, at first sight, appear to be an
over-simplification but years of experience has shown me that all too often we can
over-complicate our diagnoses.
The main difference between allopathic medicine and natural medicine is that
allopathic medicine treats symptoms whilst natural medicine concentrates upon
finding the root cause of the health problem.
Simply put - if we can discover the originating cause or 'imbalance' of any health
condition or disease then by using our crystal healing techniques to rebalance all the
'vibrations' which are out of alignment, we must be able to effect a cure or, at the
very least, a gradual improvement in the patient's overall health!
You may also, of course use your quartz crystal for self - healing purposes. All that
you have to do is to direct the single-terminated end of your crystal towards the
appropriate part of your own body and, as you did before when treating your patient,
visualize a lovely blue-white light radiating from the apex of your crystal, like a laser
beam, into your own body.
Crystal Healing is one of the most powerful - and successful - methods of rebalancing,
re-energizing and re-harmonizing every part of the physical and mental bodies of
either yourself or of your patient.
c) Absent - or Distant - Healing
Quartz crystals are often used very successfully in all forms of absent - or distant healing. Whether you are three miles, three hundred miles, three thousand miles or
thirteen thousand miles away from your patient, crystal healing can prove most
effective.
For best results it is recommended that the quartz crystals which you use for absent
healing purposes are used solely for absent healing and for no other purpose.
It is only really necessary to have the name of the person who wishes to receive
absent healing. Absent Healing, using the unique power of quartz crystals, can work
solely on the name 'vibration' alone.

All you have to do is to visualize the crystalline energy pulsating within your absent
healing quartz crystal being projected towards your patient, wherever he or she may
live. Your quartz crystal will then do the rest!
If, however, you should have in your possession an actual photograph of your patient
- or, if you have already met the person and therefore know what they look like - just
hold your crystal in your hands and visualize, as strongly as possible, the crystalline
energy totally surrounding the patient.
In addition it is very helpful after the absent healing session has been completed if
you were to place your absent healing quartz crystal on a photograph of your patient;
this assists the amplification of the crystalline energy which is being projected by the
crystal towards your patient.
In my own personal healing center I use a Master absent healing quartz crystal which
I use for all my absent healing treatments. Whenever I am asked for absent healing I
inscribe the patient's name and relevant details in my absent healing book and I then
place my Master absent healing quartz crystal on top of this book with the 'program'
that every name entered in the book will receive healing from the crystalline
energies; each according to his or her needs.
I ask that everyone tries to link up with my Master absent healing quartz crystal at
10pm every evening. Those of you reading these words and who may, for whatever
healing purpose, need my crystal healing, prayers, powers and energies, please try to
sit quietly by yourself at the hour of 10pm each evening, relax and visualize the
crystalline energies flowing into your crown chakra. Think of me and you will
receive crystal healing energy from the divine crystalline source.
d) Manifesting
Very simply, manifesting is a method of 'programming' your quartz crystal to help
your subconscious mind to create something tangible in your life that you may need.
Notice that I use the word need not want. There is a very big difference!
Before you proceed with any form of manifesting it is extremely important that you
examine your conscience and decide exactly what it is you wish to achieve. Decide,
in as much precise detail as possible, whatever it is you need to acquire.
In order to avoid dissipating the crystalline energies, as already stated previously, it is
most essential that you only use your chosen crystal for manifesting purposes only!
Let me repeat once again. Need, not want, should be your main criteria! For example,

we might all say that we want to win a first dividend on the football pools of
$2,000,000. But that is most definitely a want - not a need!
So be warned.
Now, make yourself comfortable in an easy chair and let us begin to start manifesting
your innermost needs.
First, hold your quartz crystal in front of you, with both hands. Stare at it intently
and visualize yourself entering into the crystal through a door cut into the crystal.
Once through this door you will find yourself in a long narrow hall. At the end of
this hall is a green door inscribed with the words 'Manifesting
Manifesting Room'
Room written upon it.
Open the door of this 'Manifesting Room' and step inside and look around. The walls
are solid gold; the floor is green; the ceiling is studded with millions of precious
gemstones, sparkling with all the colors of the rainbow. The room is filled with a
warm, rich feeling of prosperity.
Bring into your mind a complete and exact image of whatever it is you wish to
manifest. Visualize as much detail as possible; concentrate as hard as you possibly can
and imagine that you actually possess whatever it is you are manifesting. You are
extremely happy and relaxed, secure in the knowledge that your need has been met.
Take your time; 5, 10 or even 15 minutes, it doesn't matter. Then, when you have
finished, slowly walk back out of the manifesting room, closing the door firmly shut
behind you.
Walk back along the hall and step outside of the crystal. Take a large deep breath,
relax your body and when you feel comfortable, open your eyes.
Do your manifesting at least twice per day (morning and evening) until your need has
been fulfilled.

Cleansing and Preparing Stones

Whether you have discovered your gem or stone on the beach or found it at your
favorite magickal store, stones should be cleansed in preparation for magick and
ritual. There are quite a few ways to purify them. They can be washed in spring water
or the running water of a creek, river, or stream, then allowed to dry in direct
sunlight or moonlight. If you think the stone has been in unfortunate circumstances,
you might leave it to sit in the light for up to a week. This is especially true of gems
set in jewelry where you didnt know the previous owner, or unfortunate
circumstances surrounded that person. If you are wary of where the gem or stone has
been, a good dunking in vinegar helps to remove negativity. Other magickal people
have been known to bury gems and stones in the ground for at least twenty-four
hours before initial cleansing, asking the Earth to absorb any negativity and return
the gem or stone to its natural energy state.

Crystal Magick
Crystals and stones are gifts of the Goddess and God. They are sacred, magickal tools
which can be used to enhance ritual and magick. Here are some of the ways of Earth
magick.
Preparing the Circle
The magick circle can be laid out with crystals and stones, if desired, rather than with
herbs.
Beginning and ending in the North, lay 7, 9, 21 or 40 quarts crystals of any size
around the circle, either inside the cord or in place of it. If the ritual to be conducted
within the circle is of a usual spiritual or magickal nature, place the quartz crystals
with points outward. If of a protective nature, place with points facing inward.
If you use candles to mark the four quarters of the magick circle rather than large
stones, ring each candle with any or all of the following stones:
North: Moss Agate, Emerald, Jet, Olivine, Salt, Black Tourmaline
East: Imperial Topaz, Citrine, Mica, Pumice
South: Amber, Obsidian, Rhodochrosite, Ruby, Lava, Garnet
West: Aquamarine, Chalcedony, Jade, Lapis Lazuli, Moonstone, Sugilite
A Stone Altar
To make this altar, search through dry riverbeds and seashores for a variety of
smoothly-shaped stones. Or check rock shops for appropriate pieces.
Create the altar itself of three large stones. Two smaller ones of even size are used as
the base, while a longer, flat stone is placed on top of these to form the altar itself. On
this place one stone to the left of the altar to represent the Goddess. This might be a
natural, river-rounded stone, a holed stone, a quartz crystal sphere, or any of the
stones related to the Goddess which are listed below.
To the right of the altar, place a stone to represent the God. This might be a piece of
lava, a quartz crystal point, a long, thin or club-shaped rock or a God-symbolic stone
such as those presented below.
Between these two stones place a smaller stone with a red candle affixed to it to
represent the divine energy of the Goddess and God as well as the element of Fire.
Before this, place a flat stone to receive offerings of wine, honey, cakes, semi-precious

stones, flowers and fruit.

A small, cupped stone (if one can be found) should be set to the left of the offering
stone. Fill this with water to represent that element.
To the right of the offering stone place a flat rock. Pour salt upon this to symbolize
the element of Earth.
Additionally, another flat stone can be placed before the offering stone to serve as an
incense burner.
Use along, thin, terminated quarts crystal as a wand and a flint or obsidian arrowhead
for the Athame.
Any other tools which are needed can simply be placed on the altar. Or, try to find
stone alternatives to them.
This can be used for all types of Craft rituals.

Crystal Wands
Crystal Wands are one of the most powerful forms of 'light tools' presently known to
mankind.
The wand itself consists of a hollow copper tube of about one foot in length. The
copper tube should be around three-quarters of an inch in diameter.
A quartz crystal of at least three inches in length and around three-quarter of an inch
wide, clear and with reasonably unchipped facets, should be affixed to one end of the
copper tube. At the other end of the copper tube is either a copper cap or another
quartz crystal.
Either single - or double terminated quartz crystals may be used. The whole copper
tube is insulated by a leather strip wound completely around the wand.
The very best way to discover exactly how a crystal wand functions - and its
tremendous potentialities as an 'energizer' - is to make one for yourself. By
constructing your very own crystal wand you will soon find that it then becomes
much easier to merge your own vibrations with that of your wand.
To make your own personal crystal wand first take your hollow copper tube and,
with a hacksaw, cut two lengthwise strips at one end of the tube, about three inches
deep. Then, with a pair of pliers, bend the sides outwards so as to allow your quartz
crystal to slide into place.
Before doing so, however, you must glue the sides of your quartz crystal and then
gently slide the crystal into its place within the copper tube. You must now bend the
sides back into place and ensure that at least one inch of your crystal protrudes at the
end.
At the other end of the copper tube, either glue the copper cap into position or affix
another quartz crystal.
Finally, take your leather strip (any color will do) which needs to be about three feet
in length and place a small amount of glue at intervals along one side. Then tightly
wrap the leather, in spiral fashion, around the copper tubing. Your crystal wand is
now ready to be used!
When your crystal wand is lying by itself without you holding it, it is in what I

would describe as the 'passive' mode but as soon as you pick up your crystal wand it
becomes operational and is in an 'active' mode.
Crystal wands are extremely simple to operate. All that you need to do is to pick up
your wand, focus the crystalline energy by visualizing a blue/white light of energy
radiating from the apex of the quartz crystal in your wand, and you have now created
your own powerful ray of energy and power.
You must, however, be very sure that you use your new 'tool' and crystal friend very
wisely!
At my very first crystal healing workshop, when I had only just constructed my very
first crystal wand, I was holding my wand in my right hand whilst I was talking and,
without thinking, I must have directed the wand at the third eye chakra of one of the
students present.
With a 'yell' the student nearly toppled back on his chair. Apparently he had
experienced a tremendous burst of energy and power emanating from my wand
which had almost thrown him back into his seat!
It is therefore very important that you are extremely careful where you point your
crystal wand when you are holding it.
For ordinary crystal healing purposes I use my wand in much the same way as if I
were using a normal quartz crystal. I take my wand in my right hand and I move the
wand around the perimeter of the patient's body, in a clock-wise direction - for a few
moments.
I then focus the crystalline energies of my wand through the apex of the quartz
crystal and direct these energies into the body of the person whom I am treating. I
find that about fifteen minutes is sufficient at any one treatment session.
After directing the crystal healing energy into the patient I finish the treatment
session by once again moving the wand around the perimeter of the patient's body,
again in a clock-wise direction, for a few moments.
Using this technique the patient's body becomes surrounded by a 'sea' of crystalline
energy and this energy penetrates every fiber of the patient's inner and outer being;
and, in most cases, deep, lasting, healing occurs.
As soon as I pick up my crystal wand I can feel the whole wand begin to vibrate and

pulsate. My hands start to tingle and I feel alive with crystalline energy and power. I
channel my own healing energies into the wand which then becomes even more
powerful and thus by the time the healing rays are projected through the quartz
crystal at the end of the wand I can sense that I have managed to create a wonderful
source of power and energy.
I am often asked at my workshops and seminars why it is necessary to insulate the
wand with leather. Insulation is essential for your own personal protection as I have
found out myself from painful experience.
When you are working with your crystal wand for any length of time a great many
subatomic particles accumulate within the copper tube and, on occasions, if you were
to touch the actual copper you may receive an electrical type shock. This has
happened to me on more than one occasion in my experimental work. So be warned!
The results that you are able to obtain by using a crystal wand depend very much
upon your own ability in being able to attune yourself at a high enough level with all
the vibrational energies at your disposal. Like everything else in our earthly life, the
more you practice, the more you achieve!
As your energies become stronger, your wand will grow more potent too! Crystal
wands never ever breakdown, never need an external power source (eg batteries or
electricity) and may be used twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
The possibilities are unlimited. Experiment with your crystal wand. Stretch your
imagination and inventiveness beyond their normal range. Allow yourself to become
at one with your crystal wand. Establish a complete rapport and empathy with it.
Crystal wands may, from time to time, be used for purposes other than for healing.
For example, one evening I had to give a talk at a town some 50 miles from where I
live. I was running late!! I had been unavoidably delayed and I knew that time was
short. I came off the motorway and found myself engulfed in traffic being delayed by
a continuous stream of red traffic lights.
By a strange coincidence my crystal wand was lying on the front passenger seat next
to me. Without really thinking about what I was doing I idly picked the wand up
with my left hand and focused it on the next red traffic light that I came across. It
turned to green immediately!
And so it went on. Every red traffic light, virtually instantaneously, turned to green
as soon as I directed the crystal wand in its direction. I thus managed to arrive at my

meeting dead on time. Strange, but true!

Crystals and Gems

First off, let it be known I am no expert at this. This is just a listing of
Crystals/Gemstones that can be used to heal, draw energy from etc. I will list those off
first then discuss their uses.
Now a bit of history on gems/stones.
Gems and stones carry the living force, or energy, just as you do. For centuries,
various religions have integrated use of them into their practices. Many believe that
the amethyst brought forth visions and revelations. Often, gems and stones would be
placed on tools of war for protection - such as an arm
band.
The differences between stones, gems, and crystals:
Gems and crystals are the same thing. I use them differently because most people
think of them as one or the other. I simply took the most common theme. Crystals are
those substances which for a geometric crystalline structure, usually the clear faceted
ones. Stones tend to be opaque or translucent at the most. They are usually common.
Crystals are (on the average) much more rare than stones, and thus, much more
expensive. Just wanted to clear that up first.
In Native American practices, gems and stones were collected and utilized for their
healing, protective, and scrying properties. Gem power was, and still is, an actual
belief and not a legend or story to them. Gems and stones were also revered for their
spiritual properties and considered as aids in enhancement and growth. Stones are
commonly classed as "precious" and "semi-precious". Precious stones are those that
get are hard to get, such as rubies, diamonds, emeralds, and sapphires. All other stones
are considered semi-precious. For example, if the world's supply of quartz crystals
suddenly became difficult to obtain, clear quartz would then become a precious stone.

Agate- Good for transmutation, helps with the emotion of acceptance, gives a
mellow, blended aspect, beneficial in stomach area. Colors vary.
Agate/Botswana - Use with high-pressure oxygen therapy, smoke inhalation.
Typically white with green.
Agate/Fire - Master healer with color therapy, enhances all essences, grounds and

balances, sexual & heart chakra binder, burns energy. Typically white with red.
Agate/Moss - Emotional priorities, mental priorities, colon, circulatory, pancreas &

healing, inner peace, psychic insight, stimulates third eye, aid for meditation, spiritual
opening & internal surrender. Typically transparent or purple.
Aquamarine - Fluid retention, coughs, fear, thymus gland, calms nerves, problems
with eyes, ears, jaw, neck, stomach, teeth, mental clarity, meditation.
Atacamite - Genitals, VD, thyroid, parasympathetic ganglia.
Aventurine - Eliminates psychosomatic ills, fear, skin diseases, nearsightedness,
promotes positive attitude, creative insight. Typically green.
Azurite - Arthritis & joints, surfaces psychic blocks that form physical blocks, helps
one let go of old belief systems, dissolves fear & helps transform it into understanding.
Azurite-Malachite - Skin diseases, anorexia, calms anxiety, lack of discipline,
powerful healing force to physical body, emotional release. Azurite-malachite is blue
and green
Beryl - Laziness, hiccoughs, swollen glands, eye diseases, bowel cancer.
Bloodstone/Heliotrope - Circulation, all purpose healer & cleanser, stomach & bowel
pain, purifies bloodstream, bladder, strengthens blood purifying organs. Typically
very dark green with red and orange streaks.
Carnelian - Grounding, stimulates curiosity & initiative, focuses attention to the

present moment, use with citrine on lower three chakras, digestion. Typically
translucent red or orange.
Chalcedony - Touchiness, melancholy, fever, gallstones, leukemia, eye problems,
stimulates maternal feelings & creativity. release. Typically a reddish color.
Chrysocolla - Emotional balancer & comforter, alleviates fear, guilt & nervous
tension, facilitates clairvoyance arthritis, feminine disorders, eases labor & births,
thought amplifier.
Chrysolite - Inspiration, prophecy, toxemia, viruses, appendicitis.
Chrysoprase - Gout, eye problems, alleviates greed, hysteria & selfishness, VD,
depression, promotes sexual organ strength.
WonkoSane- azurite and malachite are almost the same stone, not quite. So they're
often found together They're the "stone" you get when you happen to find them I the
same place, it's a mixture of the two.
Dart- it's not the same stone, and if you've ever seen it, you .can. tell the difference.
Citrine Quartz - Heart, kidney, liver & muscle healer, appendicitis, gangrene, red &
white corpuscles, digestive tract, cleanses vibrations in the atmosphere, creativity,
helps personal clarity, will bring out problems in the solar plexus & the heart,
eliminates self-destructive tendencies. Typically a reddish yellow.
Clear Quartz - Transmitter & amplifier of healing energy & clarity, balancer,
channeler of universal energy & unconditional love, all purpose healer,
programmable.
Diamond - All brain diseases, pituitary & pineal glands, draws out toxins, poison
remedy. Clear or milky white.
Diopsite & Enstatiate - Organ rejection, heart, lung & kidney stimulation, self-esteem.
Eliat Stone - Tissue & skeletal regeneration, detoxification, antidepressant, karmic life
acceptance.
Emerald - Radiation toxicity, all mental illness, circulatory & neurological disorders,
transmits balance, healing & patience, increases psychic & clairvoyant abilities,
meditation, keener insight into dreams. Dark green.

Flourite - Bone disorders, anesthetic, hyperkenesis, ability to concentrate, balances

polarities, 3rd eye center, mental capacity & intellect. Varied, green, blue, purple, or
blue-green.
Garnet/Rhodolite - Capillaries, skin elasticity, protection from pre- cancerous
conditions. Red.
Garnet/Spessartine - Bad dreams, depression, anger, low self esteem hemorrhages,
hormone imbalances, inflammations, sexual disease. Red.
Hematite - Blood cleanser & purifier, low self esteem, augments meridian flows, aids
in astral projection. Typically Silver.
Herkimer Diamond - Enhances dream state, helps alleviate stress, draws toxicity from
physical form, balances polarities, increases healing ability, develops ability to "give".

Dart- hematite, which is an iron ore, is the grounding stone, and will rarely help with
projection..

Jasper/Green - Constipation, ulcers, intestinal spasms, bladder, gall bladder & general
healer, clairvoyance, balances healer's auric field.
Jasper/Picture - Skin, kidneys, thymus & their neurological tissues, betters the
immune system, past life recall, over activity in dream state & hallucinations show a

Gem Energy
The energy force of gems and stones can be absorbed into the human body. They can
be used in spells and hands-on healing, or they can enhance you personally, i.e.,
taken with you on a trip in a pocket. They can also assist in meditation. Since we
absorb the energy of gems and stones an overload can occur. If you begin to feel
uncomfortable with any gem or stone, cease use and experimentation for a moment.
Later, you can try to determine if it was the gem/stone or another factor. Although
gems and stones have overall properties and meanings amassed through the years,
each person interacts differently with them due to individual spiritual and physical
chemistry. You will find special stones that just seem to "feel" right for you, these are

Color should be an important factor when using gems with stones. For example, the
color pink is for loving, healing, and soft emotions. Therefore, we know this stone has

Using Gems and Stones
All gems and stones should be cleansed and empowered. note: empowered simply
means to instill some of your own energy into the stone. This means sit with it in
your hand and envision what you wish from the stone or what you will use the stone
for at some point.
To cleanse the stone it is best to either place the stone in a stream of natural water
from a lake or simply hold them under a faucet. Moonlight and sunlight are the best
cleansers.
Wear gems and stones as close to the body as possible. Place them in a pocket or wear
them on a string around your neck close to your heart. Always remember the size of
the stone is not important.
Gems and stones can also be placed on magickal tools, as well, with glue or wire.
Some beautiful pieces can be made such as goblets, Tarot boxes, wands, baskets, and
herb containers.

I use crystals in magick workings, which is why they are last. when you pick up a
crystal imagine that you are plugging in into your energy system, much like plugging
in a television. Crystals have a variety of uses. They can enhance psychic powers, aid
in vision quests, and be worn as protective shields. They are used for prophecy,
energizing, and thought storage retrieval. They are excellent projectors.
Crystals are unique in that they can be programmed by yourself. This is done by
holding the crystal and using your third eyes, as mentioned earlier. A crystals power

Crystals and Headaches

Headaches are amongst the most common causes of discomfort that exist today. Few
of us can boast that we are not susceptible to headaches or migraine from time to
time.
Frequently people complain of having acquired a headache whilst participating in
one of my crystal healing workshops or seminars, which is not really that surprising.
At all my workshops and seminars I bring along with me some very powerful crystals
and gemstones, creating between them a tremendous amount of energy. The average
person is simply not able to cope with this sudden overload of energy to their bodily
system - with the result that they suffer from severe headaches.
When suffering from headaches or migraines try to avoid - if at all possible - taking
pain-killers in the form of aspirin or paracetamol. Pain-killers can actually interfere
with the healing process by blocking the nerve endings so that the signal from the
cells never gets to the brain. Since the brain does not know the cells are in trouble, it
does not send the energy needed and the condition of the cells may worsen.
With our quartz crystals we can feed energy to the cells instead of blocking the pain
signal so that the cells can repair themselves. This is the natural way of healing with
crystals.
Energy flows in and out of the head all the time through the crown and third eye
chakras. When a blockage, usually emotional or stressful, occurs at the mouth of the
chakra, it builds up pressure. The excess pressure causes the cells to signal the brain
with pain.
To treat a headache caused by stress, place your healing crystal in your right hand.
Put your left hand over the site of the pain and the right hand over the solar plexus.
Using the drawing ability of your left hand, amplified by the crystal in your right
hand, now transfer the excess energy from your head to your solar plexus, where it
can be distributed throughout the body. This may take up to 30 minutes to achieve.
However, if you wish to speed up the healing process, close your eyes and picture the
headache as a dark cloud of excess energy. Your left hand is a giant vacuum cleaner;
watch it suck the cloud away. Watch closely until the cloud has all gone and then
open your eyes. Put your hands down and stand up. Take a couple of deep breaths,
walk around and wonder where your headache has gone.

At my workshops and seminars I can usually remove a headache by picking up my

personal quartz crystal, directing the single-terminated end towards the person's head
and slowly moving the crystal in a clockwise direction around the perimeter of the
head. This can remove the headache completely within just a couple of minutes.

Finding the Right Crystal

Special care should be taken when selecting a personal crystal. Try and obtain a single
point with an intact point and all six facets visible on its surface. If the point is
chipped, the energy emitted will not be as focused. It should also be small enough to
hold in one hand. The suggested sizes can range from less than two inches to five
inches in height and diameter. If you are right-hand dominant, the quartz's vibrations
can be tested by holding the crystal point up toward the head in your left hand.
The Point is placed up rather than down in order to direct the energies into your
brain. The left hand is preferred as it is connected to the opposite side of the brain.
This is the right hemisphere, the intuitive portion of our mind. For those people who
are left-handed dominant, the holding process should be reversed.
After holding the stone for a few minutes some people may experience energy
vibrations in the form of body temperature changes, colors flashing through the
mind, or a feeling of peaceful compatibility. If any uncomfortable sensations are
experienced, choose another crystal and repeat the same process. It is important that
you synchronize with its energies.
Often a stone will choose us by projecting strong vibration. It is not uncommon to
walk away from such a crystal only to discover a compulsion to return and purchase
it.
The most aesthetically pleasing is not necessarily the correct crystal.

Gemstone Folk Lore

Opals - the "old wives tale" dates only to the late 1800's to a popular book in Victorian
England wherein the heroine purchases a cursed opal and later commits suicide.
Current folklore says someone not born in October (Birthstone is opal), wearing it has
bad luck. Opals are very soft and tend to crack and scratch easily.
Sapphires - Are said to dull if your lover is cheating on your and are more intense in
color when given by your true love.
Aquamarines - Said to be made from Sea water by Fairies. Worn for good luck by
sailors.
Alexandrite - Supposedly discovered on the coronation day of Alexander II. A very
expensive and rare stone, it changes color with different light sources, most dramatic
change can be seen under black light as it goes from a purple-gray to a light green.
Supposed to bring good fortune during the day, and increase amorous feelings at
night.
Amber - Greek legend holds that two sisters convinced their brother, a Greek god, to
race in a chariot ride that proved fatal. As punishment they were turned to trees and
amber is their tears, hardened by the sun. Thought to bring cure to soar throats, and
save the wearer from being poisoned.
Amethyst - Greeks believed drinking out of a cup with amethysts on it would keep
you from getting drunk. Also said to protect you from overeating. Used to symbolize
protection of the family, as well as humility and sincerity. It protects the wearer from
reason and lies, prevents baldness, and keeps away nightmares.
Aquamarines - Greeks thought it was made from sea water and water nymph tears.
Sailors kept them to keep the seas calm during travels. Romans thought aquamarines
aided in ending wars, and carved frogs out of the stone, believing the talisman would
make their enemies friends. Christian myth has it that it gives you power over the
devil, and if you put the stone in your mouth, you cannot be lied to. Said to keep
marriage happy, and if you break up with your mate, will help to reconcile you. Used
to be put in a crib to keep babies safe.
Citrine - Protects the bearer from plague, acne, and wards of snakes.
Coral - Egyptians believed it warded off the "Evil Eye", and was kept men safe from

falling to the ways of witches, and women free from the evils of warlocks. Romans
made their children wear coral necklaces to keep them safe from evil. Believed to aid
women wanting to get pregnant.
Emeralds - Christian myth says that when Lucifer was cast from heaven an emerald
fell from his crown and was later carved into the Holy Grail. Believed to aid vision,
people with eye problems were advised to stare into emeralds to rest their eyesight
and improve vision. Believed to improve memory and prevent diabetes. If kept under
a pillow, you would dream about the future. Makes the wearer more honest
Garnet - In my first post, I said that Ruby was usually associated with "Christ's Blood"
legends, but I was mistaken. Its the red garnet that is associated with them, since its
brownish hue makes it look like dried blood. Hebrew legends said Aaron's breastplate
was made from garnets and the Koran says that garnets are used to illuminate the
Forth Heaven. Garnet was believed to let travelers at night see and ward off
nightmares and poison.
Jade - Used by religions all over the world for carving religious statues and figures,
and ceremonial items like knives were carved from it by pagans. Bearer is gifted with
pure thoughts and long life.
Opal - The story about opals that gave it the bad rep is Sir Walter Scott's "Ann of
Geirstein" where the heroine buys a cursed opal and later dies. Before that, blond
women used to buy the opal since it was believed to keep their hair from getting
dark. Also believed to allow the wearer to be invisible.
Peridot - Said to ward off evil, terrors of the night, and bad dreams. The best way to
ward off evil though, was to string peridot on the hair of a mule and wear it on your
right sleeve. Said to cure sinus infections.
Ruby - (Just a side note, a Ruby is a red sapphire. Sapphires come in all colors.)
Believed to be magical if flawless. In India it was believed that offering flawless rubies
to Krishna guaranteed the person to be reincarnated as an emperor. Rubies should
always be admired when seen, because it was believed that if you ignored a ruby, it
dulled in color. Russians believed it cured diseases of the blood.
Sapphire - Legend is that the Ten commandments were engraved on Sapphire.
Wearing a sapphire acted as an antidote against poisoning and if rubbed on a wound
would stop bleeding. If given to a mate it would dull if you were ever unfaithful. If a
wicked person wore it, it wouldn't shine and would crack.

Spinel - It was used in the 18th century to find out if someone had "supernatural"
powers. If you approach a witch with it, she would start to shake - thereby revealing
her.
Topaz - Egyptians thought they were made by Ra the sun god. St. Hidegard
prescribed putting topaz in wine and then drinking the wine to cure eye problems.
Zircon - protects travelers from harm and stops wounds from getting infected. Gave
wisdom in financial matters to make you richer. If you wanted to counter a spell cast
on you, you were to bake bread, then rub the zircon on the top of the bread and eat it.

Gemstone Healing
I have received numerous requests to include a listing of the individual gemstones
which may be used in the treatment of a wide variety of illnesses and ailments (both
physical and emotional)
Although, quite obviously, no guarantee of any permanent cure or even improvement
can ever be given, there have been many occasions when the stones referred to in this
text file have considerably helped to bring about a positive improvement in many
different diseases and health conditions.
From my own personal experience - and in talking with hundreds of people who
have successfully received healing from their gemstones - I have found that the most
effective way to use any gemstone for healing purposes is to wear it as close to the
skin as possible.
Some ladies like to 'hide' their gemstones within the deep inner recesses of their bras
but the vast majority of people prefer to wear their chosen gemstone around their
neck on a silver or gold plated chain. Gemstones may, if so desired, be held in the
hand whilst you are watching television during the evening or whilst you are reading
a favorite book or magazine. The healing energies of your chosen gemstone(s) will
then be gently absorbed into your physical and mental bodies whilst you are relaxing.
You may also like to place your gemstone under your pillow at night whilst you are
asleep; thus allowing the energies of the stone to gently penetrate your subtle body
whilst you are in a deep state of sleep.
Certain stones can help you to develop your spiritual abilities and gifts.
Use an amethyst, for example, in developing your intuitive awareness; a lapis lazuli
for acquiring wisdom and truth and a moonstone for obtaining humanitarian love and
sensitivity. Use your gemstones wisely in the pursuit of all your ambitions and needs.
Be aware, however, that your gemstones can never become miracle workers!
They need your loving care and attention, your mental attunement with their unique
properties and energies, before they are able to truly help you!

Hagstones
Hagstones are stones that have a hole running all the way through them, and are
usually found in streams or rivers, and at the seashore, where running water has
created the hole in the stone.
This may be one of the reasons why they are considered so powerful, as it is a
common belief that magick cannot work on running water, and these stones have
been holed by running water and so retain that influence of protecting from magick.
A Hagstone Hagstones are also known as Holy Stones, Holey Stones, Ephialtes Stones,
Wish Stones, Nightmare Stones and Witch Riding Stones.
They were ascribed with the power of protecting people and animals from the powers
of evil spirits and witches, and were often worn around the neck, or hung on the key
or door to the cattle stalls or stables. Hagstones were also thought to have the
property of preventing milk curdling during a thunderstorm, when evil spirits were
most active. This practice continues today in parts of Britain and Europe. In some
parts of Europe farmers milked their cows so that the milk passed through a hagstone.
A range of disorders were thought to be cured by hagstones, placing them under the
bed was thought to relieve cramp and rheumatism, and they could prevent stomach
disorders caused by Hags sitting on the stomach during the night.
In Brand's Antiquities, we find the following quote: "A stone with a hole in it hung at
the bed's head will prevent the nightmare. It is therefore called a Hag Stone from that
disorder which is occasioned by a Hag or Witch sitting on the stomach of the party
afflicted. It also prevents witches riding horses, for which purpose it is often tied to a
stable key."
In parts of Scandinavia large quantities of ale poured through a hag stone was given to
an expectant mother to ease birth pains.
An Arabic custom was to tie a hagstone around the neck of young camels to protect
them from evil spirits and the evil eye.
In some parts of Britain hagstones were fastened to the bows of boats to keep them
safe when at sea.
An interesting custom was the use of hagstones as pledge stones, being held to ensure
a person was telling the truth.

Perhaps the most interesting properties a hagstone was thought to possess were the
ability to enable the bearer to see the faerie folk, and be warded from their
enchantments. Hagstones found at mounds or other such sites were considered
especially powerful. For a hagstone to keep its full power it was supposed to be found
by the bearer or given in love.
Larger hagstones were used for weather magick, having a cord threaded through the
hole and tied, and then being swirled vigorously around the head at arms length for
dispelling winds and rain clouds.
As wish stones, they were held in the palm of the left hand, and rubbed with the
thumb in a deosil (clockwise) manner whilst concentrating on the intent of the wish
(this technique was also used with pieces of amber). We can see this as a technique of
creative visualization, using the repetitive rubbing to focus the mind and then
concentrating on the desired result (the "wish").
It is interesting to note that although the left hand is used to hold, this was probably
not for its "sinister" aspect, but rather so that the rubbing could be done with the
dominant (for most people), more "positively aspected" right hand. This is reinforced
by the fact that the rubbing is done deosil, i.e. sun wise, in an invoking manner to
invoke the desired result.
Holed stones with multiple holes in were used as spell casting stones by medieval
witches. The holes would be made in a stone, equidistant and in multiples of three. A
cord or pebble would be passed through the holes in patterns of three, whilst the
intent of the spell was repeated, usually in multiples of three. This type of spell
emphasis a belief in the power of repetition to achieve a desired result.

How to Grow Crystals

You need an absolutely clean container. Baby food jars will work, but they are
awfully small for growing decent sized crystals. Smallish glass baking dishes, say 5"x5"
are much better. I use a 250 ml or 500 ml beaker, covered with parafilm (or Saran
wrap), so something about the same size (like a Mason or fruit jar) is ideal.
You need a place to grow the crystals that is not disturbed by pets, younger children,
or parents. This place should have as constant a temperature as possible - meaning
that window sills are pretty much out. I use the top of a cabinet or closet shelf, or
sometimes the refrigerator (in the lab, of course). You will need a small plastic spoon,
one small enough to reach into whatever kind of container you are planning to use to
grow the crystals. And finally, you will need a couple of 1-liter bottles to hold the
solutions. I use plastic soda bottles, but unless you have a child-free place to keep
them, I'd use something else. A liter of even a non-toxic chemical can make a young
child quite sick.
The first order of business is to understand clean.
clean Everything you use to grow crystals
has to be clean, clean, clean.
clean That means, no lint, no fingerprints, no water spots, just
sparkly spotless squeaky clean! The best home technique is to wash the containers
with liquid detergent and a brush, then rinse them out with hot water until the soap
is entirely gone, then rinse them twice with a small amount of distilled water and
turn them upside down on a paper towel to dry. Be sure to clean the tops the same
way.
Make a saturated stock solution in the following manner: Put 800 ml of hot (not
boiling, about 120 to 140 degrees) distilled water in one of the 1 liter bottles, and
slowly add the crystal chemical to it with stirring or shaking. When no more of the
chemical will dissolve, leave the bottle undisturbed for one hour, then pour off the
solution from the first bottle into the second bottle. Try hard not to get any of the
undissolved chemical into the second bottle. Then, add 50 ml of additional distilled
water to the bottle. This is your crystal growing stock solution.
Make doubly sure that your crystal growing container is clean.
clean Then, pour in the
(still warm) stock solution to a depth of 2-3 cm. Cover the container loosely with
aluminum foil, and set it aside to start to crystallize as the solution cools. You may
want to check it two or three times each day. Do not stir, shake, bump, or get dust in
the container. Usually after 2-3 days there will be small crystals forming in the
bottom of the container. Let them grow in the original container until some of them
are 5-10 mm long. You may have to slowly
slowly add some additional stock solution to the

container. For the best results and the biggest crystals, try to disturb the crystals as
little as possible. Put them on a back shelf, hang out a do not disturb sign, and leave
them alone for several days.
Once you get some nice small crystals, pour the solution in the crystal growing
container back into the first bottle, and dump the crystals out onto a paper towel.
Select a few of the nicest looking crystals as seeds to start the second part of the
process, and put the rest back into the first bottle. Now clean, and I mean clean out
the crystal growing dish (or jar), rinse it twice with distilled water, and fill it with
stock solution to a depth of 2-3 cm (just like before). Now, use the plastic spoon to
gently lower just one of the seed crystals into the solution. Cover the container
loosely with aluminum foil or Saran wrap and set it aside for the crystal to grow. I
usually start five or six containers on this second phase.
Now, once per day, uncover the growing container and use the plastic spoon to
gently turn over the growing crystal. Replenish the level of stock solution in the
growing jar, but take care not to pour new solution in so quickly that you disturb the
growing crystal. Keep this up as long as the crystal continues to grow true. If
additional crystals start to form, then use the spoon to fish out the big crystal, and
dump the solution and the little crystals back into the first bottle, clean the dish, and
start over with the big crystal as a seed.
You can go through a lot of stock solution this way. If you run out, then just fill up
the first bottle (with the crystals in it) to 800 ml with distilled water, dissolve more
new chemical mixture, and do like before to make new stock solution.
There are two keys to growing big, beautiful crystals this way. The first key is
cleanliness.
cleanliness Dust is your enemy, big time. The second key is patience,
patience crystals grow
as fast as they want to, not as fast as you want them to grow. This is not a short-term,
overnight or even over-the-weekend project! Still, I have grown crystals 3-4 cm long
in 4 weeks, and I have grown some 10 cm crystals (over a pound!) in six months.
When the crystal is as big as you want it to be, take it out and dry it. If you want to,
you can spray it with clear lacquer to keep it permanently.
Now, chemicals. I put this off to last, because what you use depends a lot on how
much you can be trusted with chemicals or the likelihood of little kids messing with
your crystal factory and makin's. I have listed some recommendations below, along
with how toxic the stuff is.
All of these crystals are sufficiently non-toxic that the dried crystals can be handled
with bare hands. Needless to say, you shouldn't eat them!

These are my recommendations for chemicals to use to grow crystals:

1. Aluminum Potassium Sulfate (Alum) - non-toxic, cheap. Grows clear, colorless
octahedra. Fairly fast growing, easy to succeed.
2. Aluminum Potassium Sulfate 25% Chromium Potassium Sulfate. non-toxic,
inexpensive. Grows beautiful purple crystals. Fast growing, easy to accomplish
good results. My second favorite combination. You can grow chromium potassium
sulfate by itself, but the crystals are so dark you can't see through them.
3. Sodium sulfate. non-toxic, cheap. Grows clear triclinic blades. Non-toxic, fast
growing. Medium-difficult to get well shaped crystals.
4. Ferric Ammonium Sulfate. non-toxic, inexpensive. Grows pale lavender crystals,
nearly always twinned. Slow growing, Medium-easy to get good results.
5. Copper Sulfate - toxic if ingested. Grows bright blue triclinic crystals. Fast
growing. Medium-easy to get good results. Except for not being non-toxic,
probably my first recommendation.
6. Potassium ferricyanide. toxic if ingested. Grows bright orange isometric crystals.
Slow growing, easy to get good results if you have enough time.
7. Copper (II) Acetate. toxic if ingested. Grows deep forest green rhombic crystals.
Slow growing, difficult to get well formed crystals. But the results can be really
beautiful, and worth the trouble.
8. Sodium chloride (table salt). non-toxic. Grows clear cubes. Slow growing, difficult
to obtain well-formed crystals. Very sensitive to changes in temperature or
humidity. Transparent cubes are obtainable, but a lot of effort and care is
required.
9. Potassium chromate (not dichromate). You will probably have to make this by
reducing Potassium Dichromate with Potassium hydroxide. Dissolve the
dichromate, and then add potassium hydroxide slowly until the color just changes
to bright yellow. Toxic if ingested, the dichromate is listed as a carcinogen (also if
ingested). Grows bright lemon yellow monoclinic crystals, just beautiful. Medium
fast growing, medium easy to grow good crystals. Gorgeous.
10. Lactose. non-toxic (edible!). Medium-slow growing, easy to get good looking clear
to white crystals. Changing containers often is necessary because the lactose tends
to want to grow mold.
11. Ferrous Sulfate (coppereas). Mostly non-toxic, grows pale green rhombic crystals.
Fast growing, cheap. Medium difficult due to air oxidation of solution - requires
really good cleanliness. The crystals can be transparent and grow to large size.
12. Cobalt Chloride. toxic if ingested. Fairly expensive, medium slow growth. Crystals
are deep red. Medium difficult to get good results.
Crystal gardens are nice, too. I use a mixture of ammonium and sodium sulfate
because it grows really nice long blades and effloresces if the humidity is not too

high. You can color the gardens with soluble Prussian blue (Mrs. Somebody's blueing)
if you want to. You know this trick, right? It's the one where you pour the salt
solution over charcoal briquettes in a pie plate. You can do the same thing if you
make an absorbent tree out of paper (use a paper clip to stiffen it, it gets soft when it
gets soggy) and add green food color to the solution.
Here's an alternate method that gave somewhat quicker results. Choose a chemical
that is soluble in alcohol, but less soluble in water. Dissolve it in alcohol to make a
saturated solution like above, put it in a small jar covered with a osmotic membrane
(you can use filter paper, even) then sink it in a larger jar of water. As the water
diffuses in and the alcohol diffuses out, the chemical crystallizes. As I recall, copper
sulfate was used, but this was years ago.
I think Alum is the cheapest chemical, and you can get it in grocery stores for 39
cents/pound - add this to your chemical list. It's sometimes sold under the name
"pickling salt".

If You Loose Your Gems or Stones

Dont sweat it -- they had someplace to go. Its not as if they dont like you anymore,
but perhaps they are needed elsewhere. When one of my stones does a disappearing
act, I often think of the gnomes scurrying through the house, picking them up, and
delivering them to the next owner (or perhaps back to the ground where they can
rest and recuperate). Although whimsical, the thought makes me feel better.

Pick the stones you feel most comfortable with. They can be used in spell work or
carried on your person. I have found either way effective. You don't need to be rich
and to buy emeralds, rubies or sapphires to use in spell work. You don't need to have
the most expensive or largest stones to work with; in fact the ruby, emerald and
sapphire I work with are not polished or cut. I think the most I paid for them was a
few dollars each. They all work wonderfully! One more stone I use regularly is rose
quartz. It is terrific for healing, finding love and keeping the peace (all three of my
children have one). It is a good stone for finding comfort and peace of mind. I keep
extra rose quartz on hand to give to friends and family when they are in need.

negativity is not within yourself).

Method for Infusing Crystals for Any Occasion

Cleanse the crystal (running water for 20 min, or left out in sunlight or moonlight for
a period of time) to remove any negative energy. Hold the crystal between your
hands and concentrate on the feelings that you wish the crystal to retain. Do this for
about 20-30 min or until you feel that you have drawn enough energy into the
project. Project these feelings into the crystals. You should feel a faint hum from the
crystal while you are doing this. When you are finished ground yourself to remove
any excess energy that may remain afterwards. The crystal should now be charged
with the energy that you wish.

On Pearls and Coral

Pearl and coral have been mentioned in these lists as "stones" because they were
anciently thought to be such. Our knowledge of them as products of living creatures
leaves us with the ethical question of whether or not to use them in ritual. This must
be a personal decision. Beach gathered coral and shells (mother of pearl is from shells)
can be used without conflicting with the above statement because the creature has
already died by the time the item was found. If you decide not to use them, just
remember leather is also a product of a living creature.

Preparing Crystals for Magickal Use

Dedication - Upon receiving a "new" crystal, a dedication is always recommended.
This may be accomplished by holding the crystal while consciously "willing" that the
crystal be used only in love, in light, and for good of all.
Cleansing
Here are a few methods for crystal cleansing.

Take the crystal to the sea, cleanse in sea water (allowing the water to "wash" over
it), and energize in the sun.
Smudge the crystal (with sweetgrass, cedar, sage, incense, etc.). This method has
been used for centuries by Native Americans and Native African tribal cultures.
Soak the crystal in sea salt for 7-24 hours, rinse with pure water, and energize in
the sun.
Soak the crystal in saltwater for a duration of from one to seven days; this method
uses approximately three tablespoons of salt to a cup of water (water must cover
stones) in a glass container with the water and crystals in a location which will
receive sunlight.
Soak the crystals in brown rice for twenty-four hours; the rice balances and
centers the energy, removing the negativity, while dissipating and transforming
the negative to the positive. (Upon completion of the "soak" the rice is purified
and energized and is quite wonderful to eat).

Awakening
Crystals can be awakened by:

Impacting the crystal upon the energized sand of the ocean beaches and/or sand
dunes.

Sounding a meditative gong in proximity to the crystal (this method stimulates
the activation of the resonance of the crystal).

Gently sounding Tibetan prayer bells (or other bells) in proximity to the crystal
(this method aligns the energy of the crystal structure so that it can be efficiently
directed).
Charging

Place the crystal on a large crystal cluster.

Place the crystal in the center of a circle, where the circle is comprised of other
crystals whose terminations are pointing toward the center.

Place the crystal in sunlight and/or in the light of the moon; the days related to
the summer and winter solstice. the vernal equinox, the autumnal equinox, the

full moon, and the new moon are more heavily charged.
PrePre-Programming
Prior to any specialized crystal programming, the following pre-programming is
recommended:

Program the crystal to receive Divine will so that the results will reflect
actualization for the good of all.

Program the crystal for protection in the light.
Programming
Programming is the process of instructing the energies of the crystal in the method in
which to use its qualities of transformation, stability, and attunement. Precise
directions are required, or the response will be less than that which is intended.
The act of holding the crystal and intending to use it for a specific purpose is the
simplest form of programming. Another method, primarily relevant to the
programming of thoughts, and universal energies which are inherent to the
mineralogical formation, involves the following:

Formulate a precise phrase which accurately describes the nature of the
programming (i.e., other worldly communication, harmony, balance, love, special
healing or protection for someone, etc.)

Hold the crystal in the left hand (if left-handed hold the crystal in the right
hand), relax for several minutes, initiate circular breathing, and center the
consciousness. Consciously align the personal conscious awareness with the
higher-self and/or other appropriate other-worldly beings.

Ask for guidance, protection, and assistance in the programming process. Open
the center of consciousness and allow receptivity to flow through to the inner
being.

Repeat the formulated phrase 20-30 times in succession while visualizing and
feeling the desired effect of the program. (Be open to higher assistance during this
process). As the phrase is repeated, and energy field will build and culminate in
the energy pattern necessary to represent the desired program.

While maintaining full awareness of the energy field, bring total awareness and
consciousness to the area of the third-eye or the heart chakra. Place the crystal in
front of the area of the third-eye or heart chakra and allow the self to feel the
connection with it.

Direct the energy field into the crystal for 30-60 seconds and allow the program to
be transferred to within the crystal. Intuitive recognition will signal when the
transmittal is complete.

Detach consciousness from the crystal and allow the universal energies to act.

Quartz Crystal and Its Uses

Quartz crystal is one of nature's miracles. Silicon dioxide (SiO2) in crystalline form
possesses a quality known as peizoelectricity. When squeezed and released, there is
created an oscillating frequency which recurs at a precise rate. It is this quality of
oscillation that has made possible a great deal of modern technology. Quartz crystals
are used in all telephone, radio, spacecraft guidance, satellite communications and
computer systems. Simply speaking, the crystal is capable of receiving, sending and
holding energy. It is uniquely a tool of communication, and as our age is an age of
communication, it might, in fact, be called the "Age of Crystal".
In psychic terms, quartz crystal expresses identical properties, being used as a psychic
sender, receiver, and holder of various types of energy. The crystal is usually placed
in the left hand for receiving, the right hand for sending, and either hand for holding.
The mind is focused, as in any state of deep meditation, and mental energy is directed
into or through the crystal. Quartz crystal has been used since ancient times and in
nearly all human cultures as a psychic tool. Its particular focus of usefulness has been
as an amplifier of energy in the work of psychic healing. Crystals have also been used
as explorative tools, held while meditating, or placed beside the bed or under the
pillow while sleeping. Many people report increased remembrance of dreams, a
sharpening of inner vision, greater groundedness, and enhanced self-awareness by
using crystals in this way.
Crystals have traditionally been worn for any or all of the above mentioned reasons,
but, perhaps the foremost reason is simply that of beauty. Perhaps no other stone so
expresses not only the perfection of the mineral world and mother earth, but the
potential perfection of human consciousness.

Sensing the Vibrations of Stones

How do you know if a particular stone is right for you? Go with your gut. If the stone
attract you and you feel good about it, most likely that stone is meant to work with
you. If theres just something about it that bothers you, find a different stone. You
can also test a stone by placing it in your receptive hand (if you are right-handed, this
would be your left hand, as your right hand is considered dominant. If you are lefthanded, then your receptive hand would be your right one). It doesnt take long to
feel the vibrations of any stone or gem, even if you have never done it before. Just
close your eyes and push away all events of the day, then allow the stone to talk to
you through touch. Is it hot? Does it tingle? These are usually good signs. How do you
feel when holding the stone? Good feelings mean the stone is right for you; bad
feelings tell you that you should choose a different stone.

Star Stones
Greetings from the mineral world!
In this article, I want to introduce you to the world of gemstones and metals used for
adornment and healing since pre-history. Just as a guitar string will sympathetically
vibrate when a tuning fork is held next to it, so does our body field become affected
by crystalline structures held within its boundaries. Many of us have heard of the old
crystal diode radio that operated without batteries, picking up radio signals through
"sympathetic response" alone. Our bodies react similarly.
As far as metals go, I'm sure you're aware of the popularity of gold throughout the
centuries as a symbol of power and wealth. In its pure form (24k) it can be drawn out
in a strand as thin as a human hair that could stretch for hundreds of feet without
breaking; it conducts electricity without corrosion; and it has been used to color glass
ruby red.
Copper has been known for years as a healing metal, lately for arthritic ailments. It is
believed to have been first discovered through the melting of copper containing ore
such as malachite, a beautiful green gemstone.
Silver could be considered a moon metal in balance to gold as a sun metal. It is a
"cool" metal and works well with balancing, peaceful stones (i.e. the turquoise and
silver jewelry of the Southwest).
Platinum, considered by some to be the highest power metal above gold, silver and
copper in that order, is a relatively new metal in that it has been worn only recently
in comparison to gold or silver.
Stones worn on different body areas alter the effects more precisely. Accepting that
the left side of the body is receiving and the right side sending, it is worth while to
decide what responses you desire from each stone you choose to wear before you

With the resurgence of a desire to return to a simpler and more natural way of life
there has been a great interest in also getting back to a more natural way of healing
ourselves. The 60's saw a real push to return to nature, while the 70's was more the
plastic decade (plastic furniture, plastic clothing and lots of flashing neon). In the 80's
we were inundated with technological advances that were beyond what our
forefathers could ever have imagined. The 90's seems like a strange mixture of the
past three decades; we have nightclubs filled with flashing neon, computers in almost
every home and office and yet we see more people seeking out the serenity of nature,
wearing clothes made of natural fibers like cotton and silk, naturopathic medicine,
foods without all the additives that we thought were necessary and a more natural
way to maintain good health. We car coming to the realization that we can do a lot to
aid in the healing of our own bodies and minds.
Along with all this there is now almost a reverence for the "Old Ways". We are using
a lot more herbs to feel better and accept that we are more a part of nature then we
ever realized before. This is evidenced today by the amazing number of people who
are buying and using different stones and crystals in their daily life. There are as
many reasons to buy and wear stones as there are people in this world.
Crystals and gem stones have been in use for centuries. They are everywhere in
history and mythology. They adorn the crowns of royalty, the swords of warriors, the
garments of the aristocracy and the bodies of almost everyone. Certain properties
have been associated with different stones (protection, wealth, healing, etc.) Each
stone or crystal sends out vibrations at different frequencies which are in turn
received and processed by different centers in our brains and bodies. Stones and
crystals are not, by any means, meant to replace medical advice or treatment. If you
are not comfortable with a conventional doctor, try seeing a Naturopath, but if there
is a serious medical problem please seek out competent medical care.
During the course of these articles there will be some references to Chakras, so I will
give you a very basic outline of where they are, what organs they correspond with,
and their principle aspects regarding mental and spiritual development.
Different stones vibrate at different frequencies and these in turn activate the
different areas of the body, which in turn activate or stimulate different organs and
glands. This can be very beneficial for healing. There are 7 main "receptive" centers in
our bodies called Chakras. This is a very short and condensed description of the
Chakras, their locations and what aspects of life each one deals with:

The following are some terms that I use fairly often that are not commonly used in
most people's everyday lives.
Aura A low energy field that surrounds the body. It gives off a dim glow that is
often a single color from the spectrum. This field is not visible to the average person
but some of it's effects can be recorded with Kirillian photography.
Balance the evening out of the positive and the negative forces within ourselves;
the balancing of the physical and the spiritual aspects of our existence; keeping your
perspective and not letting one thing take over and control your energy expenditure.
Cleansing Ridding your crystal of unwanted energy; should always be done when
you 1st buy it.
Centering Developing a sense of security; the ability to feel comfortable about
people and situations that surround you; getting in touch with your origins rooted
deeply in the earth; attuning yourself with the forces of nature.

Talisman Something worn or carried (usually hand crafted piece of jewelry, i.e.
ring, bracelet or pendant) to ward off negative influences or to attract positive
influences. Often called a "Good Luck Charm".
We will start out with the most commonly work and used stone; the Quartz Crystal.
Most shops carry them in one form or anotherthey are sold as pendants, earrings,
rings, carved figures, spheres and key-chains. I have seen them mounted on letter
openers, bookmarks and window hangings. They can be found raw or polished and
shaped; singly or in clusters; large or small. Prices range from $.50 to $2500.00 or
more. Because of the popularity of crystals today, most of them are drastically overpriced. They are sold as "Personal Power Crystals" at grossly inflated prices, to cash in
on the sudden popularity of these natural formations. I, myself, refuse to pay more
then about $10.00 for a large Quartz crystal.
The best place to buy your stones is at a reliable lapidary shop. Raw or unpolished
Quartz crystals are usually priced at around $.50 for small ones and about $1.50 to
$5.00 to medium to fairly large ones. These are perfect for caging and wearing as
pendants. You can purchase Quartz clusters in varying sizes anywhere from $4.00 to
$25.00. There are wonderful as decorations around the house or for using as a focal
point for meditation.
Buying a crystal isn't as difficult as many would have you believe. It does not have to
be a mystical experience. When you get to the shop where you intend to purchase
your Quartz crystal, wander around and get the feel of the place. You should feel
relaxed in there and not feel pressured to buy something you don't want or need or
cannot afford. First decide on the size of the crystal that you need and for what
purpose it will be used; then pick out about 10-12 that meet your criteria. Take each
one in your hand and turn it over a few times, getting the feel of it. You will find that
one or two seem to feel "right" in your hands. Sometimes one will catch your eye and
you will feel that you must have it. Go with your instincts. If it feels comfortable to
you then by all means purchase it. It will be the right one for your purpose at that
time.
There are so many different types of Quartz that it would take a whole book just to
describe them, but I just want to go into the most commonly used ones.
The most common is the Clear Quartz. It is a wonderful general use stone. Wearing a
clear Quartz will help keep you balanced and provides and excellent grounding effect
and a link with the oneness of nature. It is a good focus for meditation and aids in our
physical and emotional well-being. Stimulate the 7th Chakra.

Rose Quartz is an excellent choice for use in balancing the emotions. It helps the
mind get rid of negative influences and uncomfortable memories. It is wonderful for
lonely people and children. When feeling really stressed out it is soothing to run a
warm bath and soak in the tub with a piece of Rose Quartz in the water. Stimulates
the 4th Chakra.
Smokey Quartz, while not that prevalent, has its won uses. It is good for grounding
energy for successful action and is best used in brining white light down to the base
of the spine. It increases your understanding of nature, neutralizes negative
influences and is very useful to bring about gradual change. Stimulates the 1st
Chakra.
Carnelian, a type of Quartz, comes in a variety of colors ranging from red to orange
and, in some cases, even to dark brown. It soothes depression and supports mental
balance, reduces negativity and nightmares. It improves the sense of touch and may
help some with asthma. It stimulates the 2nd Chakra.
Amazonite is a pale turquoise colored stone (mineral). It is very soothing to the brain
and nervous system. It stimulates your natural intuition and aids in finding the most
effective method of expression. It enhances masculine qualities and is an excellent
stone for anyone involved in the Arts. It stimulates the 5th Chakra.
Amber is composed of fossilized resin formed millions of years ago from the sap of
trees. It may contain mummified insects or plant matter which only strengthens its
ability as a grounding stone. Amber eases stress and strengthens the memory and
helps the body by absorbing negative energy. Because of this it should be cleansed
regularly with water and an air bath. Stimulates the 2nd Chakra.
COMMON BERYL can be either white, gray or pale blue and is opaque. It helps to
overcome stress and strengthens mental balance giving the wearer a good grounding,
and can also be sued to aid in lower digestive track disorders. Stimulates the 1st
Chakra.
DIAMOND clears the crown Chakra of both mental and physical blockages. It is a
great aid to further developing your spirituality as well as guarding against envy and
relieving insecurity. It is also wonderful for dispelling distress and increasing selfesteem and clarity of thought. Stimulates the 7th Chakra.
LAPIS LAZULI is a beautiful deep blue stone, sometimes with flecks of pyrite
running through it. It improves and eases stress, and provides mental calming while

providing strengthening of the will. Lapis should be worn as close to the throat as
possible but can be successfully carries in a stone pouch. Stimulates the 6th Chakra.
ROSE QUARTZ is fantastic for keeping you in a mentally relaxed state which always
aids the learning process. It increases confidence and heightens personal expression,
creativity and comfort. Stimulates the 4th Chakra.
OBSIDIAN wards off negativity and protects the wearer from becoming over
sensitive. It helps you let go of the old ways and feelings in order to make room for
new experiences and emotion. Stimulates the 1st Chakra.
RUBY increases flexibility, vitality and develops leadership skills by reinforcing self
confidence. It strengthens the heart (emotionally) and focuses the ability to love. The
deep red color of the Ruby provides an energy boost and increases personal courage.
It is a wonderful stabilizer both emotionally and physically. Stimulates the 1st
Chakra.
CHALCEDONY increases both mental clarity and balance. It heightens dreams,
soothes depression, helps to dispel nightmares and brings about a general feeling of
joy and happiness. Chalcedony also brings out the maternal instinct and is helpful in
dealing with disturbances regarding ones sexuality that are creating conflict within
oneself. Stimulates the 4th Chakra.
CORAL is wonderful for providing a good balance between the mental and physical
selves and attuning oneself with the earths energy. It aids in banishing nightmares,
easing depression and developing the imagination. Stimulates the 1st, 7th and higher
Chakras.
HEMATITE is one of the best stones for seeing yourself as you really are. It is
extremely beneficial in developing self-esteem and knowledge and understanding of
your inner self. It is a great stone for people who are just learning to live with
themselves (either on their own for the first time or as the result of a
relationship ending). Stimulates the 7th and higher Chakras.
MOSS AGATE is one of the better stones for maintaining emotional and mental
balance. It creates a feeling of total harmony with yourself and your surroundings.
The green streaks in it are found to form a link between nature and your
subconscious. Stimulates the 4th Chakra.
AMAZONITE activates thought energies for completely balanced expression. It calms
the brain and helps filter information and combine it with natural intuition.

Stimulates the 5th Chakra.

JADE comes in many different colors but is commonly found in various shades of
green. It brings the wearer peace and is generally calming. It projects universal love
and intensifies your expressive ability. Stimulates primarily the 4th-6th Chakras.
TOPAZ can be found in yellowish-orange, green, blue and brown. They all aid in
soothing the digestive system and help the body assimilate nutrients and energy. As
well, it works on the direct will center of the brain and this facilitates the intuitive
ability of correct action. Topaz assists in the development of problem solving abilities
and is used widely by those involved in the arts and sciences. Wearing a topaz ring or
pendant will keep you feeling relaxed and at peace with yourself. Stimulates the 3rd
and 7th Chakras.

Stones of the God

Generally, all orange and red stones; stones related to the Sun and Mars; Fire and Airruled stones, such as carnelian, ruby, garnet, orange calcite, diamond, tiger's eye,
topaz, sunstone, bloodstone and tourmaline. Stones which are related to specific
deities follow.

The 4 Directions Energy Layout

You need four large quartz crystals.
This layout is used for meditations and for 'charging' objects.
First, locate the true directions of the North, South, East and West (using a compass if
necessary).
Place one crystal representing north, one crystal representing south, one crystal
representing east and one crystal representing the west. The single-terminated ends
of each quartz crystal should be pointing towards the center.
Sit in the center of the four quartz crystals. Relax and feel all your stress and tension
evaporating away from your body.
Sit in this crystal energy layout for between 15-20 minutes. If you feel it appropriate
you might like to hold a crystal cluster in your hands.
Sit in the direction you feel guided to face. Many people like to sit facing the East.
If you decide to lie down in this energy pattern, you should have your head facing
North. Your feet should face South. This flows with the polarities of the earth.
You can 'charge' crystals, water or other objects within this energy pattern. If you
place objects for charging inside a pyramid which is itself within the four direction
layout the whole process will be greatly amplified.

The Care and Feeding of Crystals

Crystals have been in the lime-light ever since celebrities such as Shirley Mcleane
and Cher have come out of the closet and admitted they were "New-Agers".
However, along with this public scrutiny, has also been a whole bunch of
misconceptions. The most common of which is that a person just wears a crystal like
jewelry or carries it and it works like some kind of instant stage-magic or
prestidigitation. This, of course, is not the case. To get the full effect of "Crystal
Power" in your life means, as with so much else, that you must put into it what you
take out of it. So here are a few simple guidelines for those of you who plan on taking
this subject seriously.
1. Selecting your Crystal
To select a Crystal is not all that much different from selecting a pet or a work of art.
When you go into the store to purchase your crystal - or any other stone used in
healing or Psychic work - just pick the one that "calls" to you. Handle the various
stones and place them, one by one, in your receptive hand, (the one that is not your
dominant hand; if you are right-handed or ambidextrous, your receptive hand is your
left. If you are completely left-handed your receptive hand is your right.) The stone
that is right for you will "pull" you to it. This may not be the stone that looks the
clearest or the most impressive, either. Our societies materialistic values and our
conditioning to accept them must not enter into our decision, which is very hard for
most of us at first. Our first tendency is to judge the stone -as we always judge
ourselves and everything else in a constant stream of thoughts- by what we have been
conditioned to believe is "good" or "bad".
If the piece you are choosing is for a specific purpose; i.e. for healing, or to enhance
your psychic abilities, or for meditation; it will help if you keep that purpose in mind
while you are selecting the stone. An interesting phenomena often happens to people
who are just going into the gem and mineral healing or psychic work. Most people
start off with clear quartz, because it has the most applications. They go into a store or
a gem show to purchase a clear quartz and find themselves drawn to all kinds of other
"rocks" (as the collectors call them) too. Many times they bring a bag of various
mineral specimens home with them. Later they look up the stones in one of the many
reference books on this subject, only to find the stones they were drawn to are
exactly the ones they need to deal with issues or illnesses that they need to work on.
The very first thing you need to do when you first get a crystal is to "clear it" from the
imbalanced energies of anyone else who has touched it. Crystals "work" because of
their piezoelectrical field. Researchers in Kirlian photography and other subjects have

long shown us that the body is surrounded by a field of electromagnetic energies,

which psychics call the aura.
aura People who have studied this subject tell us that
Crystals help us by attuning their piezoelectrical charge to the charge of our auras. So
we must first remove the charges from the stone that come from other's handling of
it. This is done by leaving the stone in sea-salt (available at almost any health-food
store) for 3 days. The only time you will have to use this technique - which is drastic
- to cleanse the stone is when you first buy it. The reason I say the technique is
drastic is because it erases all of your energy from the stone too, so the stone has to be
rebonded. (explained later) This piezoelectrical effect of the stone is the same reason
that quartz is useful in making computers, telephones, watches, and in other
electronic devices.
2. The regular maintenance of your stone
The regular care and maintenance of your stone is really quite simple. First of all a
gentler method of clearing the piece should be used at least once a week and after any
uses in either physical or inner (mental/emotional/spiritual) healing work. This can
be done in several ways. First of all, you can run it under cool - no extremes of
temperature please - water in your sink for several minutes, while visualizing
(intensely imagining in vivid detail, from a meditative or extremely relaxed state) all
imbalanced energies leaving it. You can also leave it in mugwort (an herb) for 2-3
days buried it in carefully. You can also place it in a flowerpot with an African violet
plant, but you should know that if it has been used to heal any severe conditions, the
plant will die. The stones should also be re-charged about once a month or after every
use. For other stones, direct sunlight is not such a good idea as it can fade the colors.
You can get the reflected energy of the sun by placing them in the moonlight during
the waxing of the moon. (from one day after the new moon through the night of the
full moon) They can also be charged by surrounding them in a circle of quartz points
that have been charged by the sun, with the points of the crystals facing inward
toward the stones being charged. Another method is to purchase an amethyst or
quartz cluster and place the stones on it. A cluster is a specimen with several
individual crystals on it. Oh, and if you charge the stone by a circle of crystals, be
sure they have been cleared and charged themselves before using them to charge
anything else. The circle should consist of at least four points, but eight is best. These
stones used for charging do not have to be large at all.
3. Using your stones
Stones are tools in our psychic work and, as in any other object used, work by
focusing the mind's powers. To get the best use out of them, more than just wearing
them or carrying them is required. They should be used from a state of meditation,
while visualizing the goals we wish to accomplish with them - such as healing,
increased Psychic perception, etc. A good way to do this for to help you focus and a

self-hypnosis tape that relates to your goals and use it. And if you are using the
crystals in healing, be aware that they are not meant to replace the care of a
competent health professional - but many people find them a useful adjunct to it.

The Healing Properties of Gemstones

Although, quite obviously, no guarantee of any permanent cure or even improvement
can ever be given, there have been many occasions when the stones referred to in this
text file have considerably helped to bring about a positive improvement in many
different diseases and health conditions.
As the former director of The Crystal Research Foundation and currently as the
Director of CRYSTAL 2000, over the years I have been personally responsible for
sending out hundreds of gemstones - the vast majority in the form of gemstone
pendants - to many people throughout the World. From some of the letters which I
have received in reply I do know that many of these gemstones have had a positive
effect upon the recipients!
From my own personal experience - and in talking with hundreds of people who
have successfully received healing from their gemstones - I have found that the most
effective way to use any gemstone for healing purposes is to wear it as close to the
skin as possible.
Some ladies seem to 'hide' their gemstones within the deep inner recesses of their
bras but the vast majority of people prefer to wear their chosen gemstone around
their neck on a silver or gold plated chain.
In addition to the healing energies of the gemstone being able to penetrate the subtle
body more easily, the gemstone pendant is a beautiful piece of jewelry - and is always
aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
Remember - a stone of beauty is a joy forever!
Gemstones may, if so desired, be held in the hand whilst you are watching television
during the evening, or whilst you are reading a favorite book or magazine.
You may also place your gemstone under your pillow at night whilst you are asleep;
thus allowing the energies of the stone to gently penetrate your subtle body
throughout the course of the night.
The healing - and therapeutic - power of crystals and gemstones has even reached
boardroom level!
In recent natural health exhibitions, for example, I have sold some fairly large

amethyst clusters to Managing Directors, Sales Directors etc. who have acquired these
big clusters to place on their office desks - or within their boardroom!
Amethyst or quartz crystal clusters are now the 'in' executive toy.
Certain stones can help you to develop your spiritual abilities and gifts. Use an
amethyst for developing your intuitive awareness; a lapis lazuli for acquiring wisdom
and truth; a moonstone for obtaining humanitarian love and sensitivity.
Use your gemstones wisely in the pursuit of all your ambitions and needs.
Be aware, however, that your gemstones can never become miracle workers. They
need your loving care and attention, your mental attunement with their unique
properties and energies, before they are able to truly help you!

expanded my own knowledge and understanding and therefore I have now added a
considerable number of 'additional' stones to this list.
ABALONE
A stone for strengthening the muscular tissue, especially around the heart. Very good
in the treatment of spinal degeneration diseases.
AGATE
Semi-precious stone, the Agate is said to improve natural vitality and energy and to
increase the self-confidence of the person using it. It is believed to be of special
benefit to athletes and to those taking any kind of examination or test - or anyone
else who has to call upon instant bursts of energy whether mental or physical.
Balances the emotions and calms the body, mind and feelings.
General healing, reduces fever, hardens tender gums, gives courage and banishes fear,
also assists the wearer to express thoughts into spoken words. Helps to develop
powers of eloquence.
Stone of health and good fortune.
ALBITE
A stone which strengthens the lungs, spleen and thymus.

ALEXANDRITE
Helps the nervous system, spleen, pancreas and testicles. May be used to amplify color
therapy.
AMAZONITE
Generally used to help soothe the nervous system and to give some relief to those
who are suffering from emotional disturbances.
Also helps with one's metabolism and growth. Useful when trying to express oneself
more clearly.
Regulates and improves thinking abilities.
AMBER
Although it may look like one, Amber is not really a stone but the yellow-brown
fossilized resin of trees.
It is claimed that Amber is used to best effect by those who suffer from throat
infections, those who have bronchial disorders or those who are prone to asthma or
convulsions, also rheumatism, intestinal disorders, earache, bladder trouble, nerves or
bone-marrow deficiencies.
Calming, can absorb negative energy and helps the body to heal itself.
Used for making and breaking spells.
Helps with depression and suicidal tendencies.
AMETHYST
A purple-colored quartz used as a semi-precious stone; the Amethyst is known as a
spiritual stone and is used for general healing and for meditation.
It is said that sleeping with a piece of amethyst beneath one's pillow promotes
intuitive dreams and inspired thought.
Many healers also consider it useful in the relief of insomnia and to bring serenity in
times of grief.
The Amethyst clears, purifies and helps with any addictions or stress or tension.

Also protects against blood disease, toxic effects of substance use, acne, neuralgia and
fits.
Soothes and calms the mind, raises the spirit, rebalances and increases intuitive
awareness, protects from negative vibrations.
It is a very good idea to have an Amethyst cluster in your room because of the
cleansing and energizing properties associated with it.
Traditionally believed to protect from drunkenness.
ANHYDRITE
This stone strengthens the kidneys and ovaries.
APACHE TEAR
Used in 'grounding' one's energies. Also helps soul reflection.
APATITE
Strengthens muscle tissue, aids in coordinating basic motor responses.
Assists people suffering from stuttering and used in the treatment of hypertension.
AQUAAQUA-AURA
Improves heart, lungs, throat, and thymus.
Good for people suffering from emotional traumas. Aids release of inner emotional
tension from deep within the body.
Helps meditation.
AQUAMARINE
Bluish-green transparent Beryl; the Aquamarine is supposed to be most useful when
dealing with the problems of the eyes, liver, throat, stomach, nerves, and glands.
Relieves toothache, improves sight.
Preserves innocence. Quickens intellect, increases self-knowledge.
It is also reputed to promote clear and logical thinking and for that reason is often
carried as a 'good luck' charm by those who are taking examinations or being
interviewed for a job.

Brings inspiration and new ideas.

ATACAMITE
This stone strengthens the genitals, thyroid and the nervous system.
Used in the treatment of venereal diseases, including herpes.
AURICALCITE
Similar to Smithsonite.
AVENTURINE
Aventurine is said to be useful in relieving migraine and in soothing the eyes.
A traditional method of using this stone is to leave it in water overnight and to use
the water the following day to bathe eyes.
Aventurine water - made in the same way can also be used for bathing irritations of
the skin.
Aventurine is a soother and helps relax one for a better night's sleep!
It also relieves tension and shock. Improves vitality, equalizes blood pressure.
Encourages creativity, gives the wearer courage, independence, calmness and
serenity.
Gives adventure and luck in love and sport.
AZURITE
A natural blue copper carbonate.
The Azurite is said to be an aid to psychic development and is a very powerful stone.
Also aids meditation.
Relates to penetrating through your deepest fear in the subconscious.
It is used as a general healing stone. Relieves arthritis and joint disabilities. Reduces
hip joint pain.
BERYL

Helps heart problems, liver trouble, mouth, stomach and throat infections.
Improves intellect, strengthens will-power, guards against stupidity and mental
disorders.
BLOODSTONE
Deep-green precious stone flecked with red; it is believed that the Bloodstone will
help to overcome depression and melancholia - especially if it is worn by the sufferer.
It is also said to help those who suffer from psychosomatic illness and pains which
have an emotional rather than a physical cause.
Bloodstone is also a purifier of the blood and a general detoxification of organs,
particularly the liver, kidneys and spleen.
It helps to allow light into the body. Provides vitality, strengthens idealism and the
will to do good - especially for charity.
Increases one's talent, stimulates the kundalini and balances all of the chakras.
BLUEBLUE-LACE AGATE
Blue-lace agate is a very calming stone. It is helpful for freely expressing oneself and
how one feels and thinks.
Provides cool and soothing energy which is good for neutralizing red energies such as
anger, infections, inflammations, fevers etc.
Helps to open the throat chakra.
BLUE QUARTZ
Helps improve heart, lungs, throat and thymus.
Good for people suffering from emotional traumas.
Aids the release of inner emotional tension from deep within the body.
BOJI STONE
Has general healing qualities and assists tissue regeneration.
Strengthens all the chakras and meridians.

CALCITE (gold)
Carries the golden healing ray. Gives comfort, helps cheer depression. Good for most
of what ails you!
CALCITE (green)
Helps kidneys, spleen and the pancreas. Removes toxins from the body and alleviates
mental fear. Aids mental clarity, soothes anxiety, calms turbulent energies.
Expands awareness, aids intuition, links parallel realities.
Good when undertaking mental change.
CALCITE
CALCITE (orange)
Helps gall bladder, improves physical energy, also expands awareness etc as above.
CALCITE (optical)
Improves eyesight. Brings spiritual understanding into challenging circumstances and
situations. Helps when doing regression.
CARNELIAN
Semi-precious stone, a reddish variety of chalcedony.
This stone is useful for understanding one's rhythms and cycles and it is said that if it
is worn in a pouch around the neck by a women during menstrual periods - it will
help to ease the stomach cramps felt at that time.
Strengthens voice; helps rheumatism and arthritis, depression, neuralgia; aids the
sense of touch.
Used for infertility and impotence. Alleviates blood poisoning, fever, infection and

stone was to be worn daily for protection and luck, and another for creating more
potent amulets. All of these associations can be used to further accentuate your ritual
