03 - Emergency Plan Development

An emergency incident management plan should address various emergency scenarios and outline specific response duties, responsibilities, and the person in charge. The plan needs to be tested regularly to identify strengths and weaknesses. An emergency plan is designed to protect personnel, the public, and environment from anticipated emergencies. It must identify all potential incidents and describe preparations, ensuring emergency resources, training, and contractor awareness. The incident command center coordinates the response and contains necessary documents and contact lists. Effective communication and assignment of responsibilities to personnel are also critical parts of an emergency plan.
