Year 4 Maths Workshop

Walton-le-Dale Primary School will hold a Maths Parent Workshop on November 30th for Year 4 parents about place value. The workshop will run from 5:30pm to 6:15pm and cover what place value concepts children learn in Year 4, how they are taught, and strategies parents can use at home. The hands-on workshop will give parents experience with place value activities. Additional Maths Calculation and Reading Comprehension workshops will be offered in the spring term.

Dear Year 4 Parents,


Next Wednesday (30th November) we will be running a Maths Parent Workshop for you on Place Value in
Year 4. It will begin at 5:30pm and should last approximately 45 minutes. It will cover what place value your
child will learn in Year 4, how they learn it and give you some ideas and strategies to support your child at
home. Place value is the foundation of everything else that comes in Maths.
The workshop will be just that, with as much hands on for yourselves as possible. Just be ready to pretend to
be an eight year old for a short while!
We will also be running a Maths Calculation Workshop and a Reading Comprehension Workshop in the
spring term.
