PROGRAMING AKUS-SD COMBI

To enter programming mode hold down left button 3 seconds. After entering menu left button
goes to previous parameter, right button goes to next parameter, Up/Down buttons changes
the values of parameters. To exit and save parameters go to the last parameter, on the LCD
Exit From Menu is written, and then press up button to exit.

PARAMETERS
1- Maximum Travel Time
2- Starting Delay
3- Stopping Delay
4- Floor signal
5- First Direction
6- Motor Drive Frequency.
7- Automatic Door Type
8- Automatic Door Opening time
9- Three Phase Door Frequency
10- Machine Type
11- Motor Torque
12- Door Power
13- Door motor torque
1- Maximum Travel Time: (10 200 seconds )
This parameter limits the leveling time. If floor signal is not seen till this time AKUS-SD
COMBI stops leveling. This parameter must be adjusted to maximum travel time from one
floor to next floor.
Time = (Max. distance between floor to floor) / ( leveling speed )
For example: The lift speed is 1 meter/sec at 50Hz with mains power, The adjusted leveling
frequency is 5Hz , max distance from floor to floor 3 meters. So leveling speed is (1 x 5)/50=
0.1 meter/sec. Travel time is = 3 / 0.1 =30 Seconds.
2- Starting Delay: (0 20 sec)
When the mains power fail the internal timer starts counting. After certain delay that adjusted
with this parameter, the emergency unit start to run. For example if there is a diesel generator
which takes 5 sec to source mains power, set this parameter to 8-10 seconds. So when the
mains power fail AKUS-SD COMBI waits for generator for 10 sec and then if there is still no
power or something wrong with generator AKUS-SD COMBI starts after this 10 seconds.
3- Stopping Delay: (0 9.0 sec)
Normally stopping signal is 3-10 cm before the exact floor level because of stopping curves of
VVVF drives, or braking distance of 2 speed machines. But in some cases it is early to stop
the battery leveling at this points because battery leveling may more slowly and no extra
stopping curves like VVVF drivers. One solution to stop car at exact floor level is putting
extra sensor for only AKUS-SD COMBI to stop car. Or using the existing one but delaying
signal few seconds to stop car.
4- Floor Signal: (Normaly open / close contact)
Exact floor stopping signal from sensor can be adjusted normally open or close contact.

ARKEL 2011

AKUS-SD COMBI

ARKEL Elektrik Elektronik Ltd. ti.

www.arkel.com.tr

5- First Direction: (Forward / Reverse)

The leveling is done to the easiest way. The AKUS-SD COMBI tries to run elevator for one
way and if it is possible to run elevator at this way until the leveling finished at that way. But
if it is not possible it changes the direction and tries again. This parameter sets the first trying
direction.
While the reverse direction is being tried during the leveling because of an unsuitable
first leveling direction, the elevator may move uncontrollably. If it happens, change this
parameter value.
6- Motor Drive Frequency: (3 10 Hz)
The leveling is done with the motor frequency that is adjusted with this parameter. If
parameter is set to automatic AKUS-SD COMBI adjust the frequency by it self.
7- Automatic Door Type: (Not installed / 3 Phase / 1 Phase / contact output only)

This parameter sets the automatic door type.

Not installed : AKUS-SD COMBI stops operating after leveling the car. Do notting for door.
3 Phase
: AKUS-SD COMBI generates 3 phase to open doors.
1 Phase
: AKUS-SD COMBI generates 1 phase to open doors.
Contact output: AKUS-SD COMBI only sets a relay contact for a certain time to open door.
This function can be use for self battery powered door operators.
8- Automatic Door Opening Time: (0 30 seconds)
After the levelling, AKUS-SD COMBI keeps supplying voltage to the motor or keeps
activating the relay contact to open the doors, during the period that is set in this parameter.
9- Three Phase Door Frequency: (5 50 Hz)
When the leveling finished AKUS-SD COMBI starts to generate 3 Phase for 3 phase door
motors. This parameter sets the frequency of door motor while operating with AKUS-SD
COMBI.
It is adviced to set this parameter to 50Hz and to use 50VA 30/220 transformer for each
motor phase to make sure that the doors will open after levelling.
10- Machine Type: (VVVF machine / 1 or 2 Speed machine)
When the AKUS-SD COMBI wants to change travel direction of car if the system is done
with 2 or 1 speed geared machine AKUS-SD COMBI does not change to phase order of its
inverter. It changes the way by the help of direction contactors. But if the system is done with
VVVF drives contactors dont changes the direction so AKUS-SD COMBI changes the
direction by changing its inverter phase order.
11- Motor Torque: (Standard / High Torque)
When AKUS-SD COMBI generates 3 phase for motor, its possible to boots up output voltage
to obtain more torque from motor. Normally this parameter must be in standard, but if the
motor torque is not enough to run the lift for both direction set this parameter to High Torque.
But keep in mind that battery will discharge more quickly in that case.

ARKEL 2011

AKUS-SD COMBI

ARKEL Elektrik Elektronik Ltd. ti.

www.arkel.com.tr

12- Door Power: (Only at level / Always)

Some door operators must be supplied during all travel to keep the locks close. In the
other hand they opens a little because of mechanical spring and its locks dont contacts the
safety chain. For these type of doors set this parameter to Always. For all other type of door
like three phase motored doors keep this parameter Only at level.
13- Door Motor Torque: (Standard / High Torque)
When AKUS-SD COMBI generates 3 phase for door motor, its possible to boots up
output voltage to obtain more torque from motor. Normally this parameter must be in
standard, but if the motor torque is not enough to open door set this parameter to High
Torque. But keep in mind that battery will discharge more quickly in that case.
