protective covers are on the product before use.
! WARNING Do not touch the inside of AKUS-SD COMBI. Doing so may result in electrical
shock.
! WARNING AKUS-SD COMBI starts to operate immediately after turning OFF the mains
power. Turn OFF procedure order must be start by turning OFF the battery supply first and
then turning OFF the mains power. Not doing so may result in injury.
! WARNING Operation, maintenance, or inspection must be performed after turning OFF
the power supply and battery, confirming that all indicators are OFF. Not doing so may result
in electrical shock.
! WARNING Do not damage, pull on, apply stress to, place heavy objects on, or pinch the
cables. Doing so may result in electrical shock.
! WARNING Do not touch the rotating parts of the motor and elevators vivacious mechanics
under operation. Doing so may result in injury.
! WARNING Do not modify the product. Doing so may result in injury or damage to the
product.
! Caution Install AKUS-SD COMBI to a control panel box which has protection class IP20 or
better. Not doing so may result in electrical shock, fire or damage to the product.

PARAMETERS
1- Maximum Travel Time
2- Starting Delay
3- Stopping Delay
4- Floor signal
5- First Direction
6- Motor Drive Frequency.
7- Automatic Door Type
8- Automatic Door Opening time
9- Three Phase Door Frequency
10- Machine Type
11- Motor Torque
12- Door Power
13- Door motor torque
1- Maximum Travel Time: (10 200 seconds )
This parameter limits the leveling time. If floor signal is not seen till this time AKUS-SD
COMBI stops leveling. This parameter must be adjusted to maximum travel time from one
floor to next floor.
Time = (Max. distance between floor to floor) / ( leveling speed )
For example: The lift speed is 1 meter/sec at 50Hz with mains power, The adjusted leveling
frequency is 5Hz , max distance from floor to floor 3 meters. So leveling speed is (1 x 5)/50=
0.1 meter/sec. Travel time is = 3 / 0.1 =30 Seconds.
2- Starting Delay: (0 20 sec)
When the mains power fail the internal timer starts counting. After certain delay that adjusted
with this parameter, the emergency unit start to run. For example if there is a diesel generator
which takes 5 sec to source mains power, set this parameter to 8-10 seconds. So when the
mains power fail AKUS-SD COMBI waits for generator for 10 sec and then if there is still no
power or something wrong with generator AKUS-SD COMBI starts after this 10 seconds.
3- Stopping Delay: (0 9.0 sec)
Normally stopping signal is 3-10 cm before the exact floor level because of stopping curves of
VVVF drives, or braking distance of 2 speed machines. But in some cases it is early to stop
the battery leveling at this points because battery leveling may more slowly and no extra
stopping curves like VVVF drivers. One solution to stop car at exact floor level is putting
extra sensor for only AKUS-SD COMBI to stop car. Or using the existing one but delaying
signal few seconds to stop car.
4- Floor Signal: (Normaly open / close contact)
Exact floor stopping signal from sensor can be adjusted normally open or close contact.

Verify that the elevator is not in inspection mode during the rescue operation.
In ARL type control panels make sure that the inspection bridge is not connected in KBK
input card and check the inspection connections according to the schemes
Be aware that before rescue operation the 869 LED on AKUS-SD COMBI board is ON. It is
expected to go OFF when KAK (rescue active) contactor is activated.
CAR IS AT THE
FLOOR LEVEL
If car is at the floor level message is received but the car is not at floor level, make sure
that the 142 LED on AKUS-SD COMBI board is ON/OFF according to the at floor
parameter.
Make sure that AKUS-SD COMBI 142 LED works in accordance with the at floor signal
of the control card. If at floor signal does not work in accordance with the system, check
the related magnetic shelter, magnets and connections according to the schemes.
If at floor signal is displayed even though the AKUS-SD COMBI 142 LED works in
accordance with the system, check whether the 1000 connector in the panel is bridged to the
battery connector.
Make sure that at floor signal output setting is adjusted for the appropriate contact in your
system
WAITING FOR
DOOR LOCK
If waiting for door lock is displayed during rescue, make sure that safety circuits (120,
130, 140) are in active stages.
Display of this message until rescue starts is normal. When door lock wait time is exceeded,
motor connection err. Zero current error is given the rescue operation is canceled.
Extending the door lock wait time may solve the problem.
If rescue operation cannot be executed even though safety circuits and motor contactors are
active, check the connection from motor output connectors to motor with respect to the
schemes.

AKUS-SD COMBI
220V INVERTER IS
OVERLOADED
www.arkel.com.tr
AKUS-SD COMBI transformer power is exceeded during rescue. The sum of the powers of
the main transformer in the panel and of the brake/cam coil should not be higher than
AKUS-SD COMBI transformer (400VA).
Most probably the brake coil causes this warning; it may be drawing excess current. Check
the current that the brake draws.
MOTOR CONNECTION
ERR. ZERO CURRENT
This error message is generated when motor cannot be powered within door lock wait time.
It may have been set to a low value.
Make sure that KAK (rescue active) contactor is activated during rescue operation.
In ARL type panels, make sure that the 869 LED on control card is OFF.
In ARL type panels, check whether one of the inspection direction signals (500, 501) is ON.
In ARL type panels, make sure that related motor contactors are activated according to the
system (KPA & KPB contactors in VVVF systems / KU1 or KU2 with KH contactors in
two speed systems / KU1 or KU2 with KP contactors in one speed systems should be
active).
MAX. TRAVEL
TIME IS ELAPSED
Increase the maximum travel time with respect to the high floor by trial.
If the elevator bypasses the floor and generate the error, check the 142 input on AKUS-SD
COMBI and related magnets.
Make sure that 142 LED on AKUS-SD COMBI works in compliance with the contact
output that is set when the elevator is at floor level.
ARKEL 2011
17
AKUS-SD COMBI
UNABLE TO
TURN MOTOR
www.arkel.com.tr
This error message is generated when motor does not work even though all the functions are
fulfilled during rescue operation.
If the motor is double coiled, make sure that AKUS-SD COMBI motor outputs are
connected to high speed coil.
In two speed systems, slow contactor instead of high one is being activated during rescue
operation.
Applied torque on motor is inadequate. Try increasing motor torque or decreasing motor
running frequency by setting the related parameter.
Make sure that brakes are also activated after the contactors do during rescue. Brake may
not be fully open
WHILE RUNNING
LOW TORQUE ERR.
Make sure that contactors are not deactivated during rescue operation.
If this error is generated at lowest and highest limiter zones, set the related control card
parameter to go to limiter floor during inspection.
During rescue operation, at least one of the motor ends cannot be powered when motor is
working. Check the motor line connection.
BATTERY FAILURE
RESCUE CANCELLED
Check the batteries if this error is generated when rescue is about to start or has already
started
Check the batteries one by one with a 12V halogen lamp. Measuring one by one or as a
group with a measuring device may lead to incorrect results.
DRIVER ERROR
Malfunction due to connections may have damaged the product. Send back to factory
for inspection.
