Problem #1: Performance and Attitudes of K12 teachers in Using

Sambal as Mother Tongue Based in Zone II, Division of Zambales
Rationale:
K12 curriculum is a program for basic education in the Philippines that provides
learners literacy skills and knowledge. One of the subjects in K12 curriculum is Mother Tongue.

helping learners feel more confident, and building a sense of identity in the classroom.
For teachers, it is a tool for acknowledging and educating students to understand and to
converse well using their first language effectively. To be an efficient teacher, we must be fully
equipped with the language but nowadays, teachers are not aware and prepared in using the
language. Even though, there are seminars and trainings provided for the teachers, still there are
many problems exist in learning and teaching process. Some teachers do not read, write and
speak Sambal fluently. As a result of these problems, research study must be conducted.
