Users Manual SSS LCLFile Writer

I. Introduction
This Users Manual describes how the employers, particularly the officers who process SSS
contributions, can easily prepare the upload files required for the BPI Expresslink SSS payments
facility via the SSS LCL File Writer. In order to use the file writer, users should have already
installed Microsoft Excel in their PCs.
The succeeding sections will describe how the users can easily access and use the file writer.
II. Opening the File Generator
1. Locate the file writer saved in your PC and open it using Microsoft Excel. You may also doubleclick the file to open it.

2. When prompted to allow macros, click on Enable Macros.

If the message box shown above was not displayed, please perform the following procedures then
try to open the file generator again.
a. In Microsoft Excel, click on Tools>Options

b. Click on the Security tab, then click on Macro Security

c. Click on the Security Level tab, then select the Medium option. Click on OK to effect the
changes.

III. Using the File Writer
This file writer allows you to upload the file coming for the SSS site. Uploading the file will populate
all the necessary details for the file conversion. The data on the sheet will show the content of the
downloaded file. The user can make modifications via SSS LCL File writer. All fields are
changeable. Please follow steps below on how to make use of this file writer.

1.Uploading a file in the file writer. Press the upload button and locate the file to be uploaded in the cells of
the excel sheet.

3. Once the file is uploaded, you may add/modify the employee payment details. For employers who
opened a file that is originally sent via diskette to SSS, the 2-character Branch Code should be indicated.
(please refer to the Branch Code table provided)

4. Click Create File to generate the new LCL file. Input/Browse the location where you wish to save the newly
created file.

5. A confirmation will prompt the user when the file creation is successful. You may now upload the LCL file
generated by this file writer.
