Piping shall be arranged to allow the removal of equipment without removing the block valve adjacent to the equipment and large quanities of associated equipment of piping. (10) Pockets shall be avoided in lines carrying caustic, acid, oF materials that may congeal or {reeze o in lines containing solids that may settle out (especially in flare fines and in lines where water accumulate and subsequently be flashed to steam when the unit is brought onstieem). Pockets shall alse be avoides in piping in which corrosive condensate mey form. (11) Insuated lines passing through earth firevallsicikes may be installed by ether of the following methods; + Insulated with the appropriate insulation and covered with @ moistureproot jacketing. Ha pipe sleeve is not used, the stress analysis of the piping system shall be considered the earth dike as a fixed point in the system. + Insulated with the appropriate insulation and installed in @ pipe sleeve with 2 seal having the appropriate fire rating (for example, Thunderiine Link-Seal or stainless steel belows). 4(12) Both Insulated and unisulated lines passing through concrete such as walls, decks, and peving shall be installed with insort pipes or sleeves. Both the insert pipe and the sleeve Shall e coated for corrosion protection as well as penetrating pipe. Each end af the sizeve shal be sealed with a material having the appropriate fire rating (for example, Thunderline Link Seal, lean mortar motute, of siainless steet bellows), (13) Ausioniti stainless steal piping shall be protected against 2ne embritlement which may result from molten zine dripping ftom galvanised steel on Max. design temperature (except fire condition). Fiping between process units and storage facilities) should be supported on sleepers, at ground level in pipe tracks or bolow ground level in pipe trenches. The choice between pipe tracks ot pipe wenches is dictated by technical and ‘economical considerations, e.g. the number of rcad of rail crossings, the ground water level and the length cf the required trench. Pipe racks may be used if space at ground level is limited or # the use of culverts or buried piping is uneconomical (2) The distance between sleepers in pipe Vacks and in pipe trenches shall be besed on the maximum allowed free span of the majorty of pipes. Smaller pipes requiring @ shorter ‘supponing distance shall be grouped together and be supported on additional supports. {@) The elevation of the sleepers shall bo such that thera is access for maintenance and for operation of valves, drains and instrumentation and that pipes and insvlation will remain ‘above the highest expected storm water levels. +x(4) Flanged connections shall not be installedin trenches. in order to prevent the accumulation of ges and liquid vapours in the trenches uniess otherwise required. (6) Concrete trenches in process units shall be adequately drained into a drainage system and shall be covered with suitable cover. 2.1.4 Pipe space (i) The dstance between pipes shall be as per TABLE 2.1. To permit ready access for the removal andjor maintenance of pigings, e minimum side clearance of 25 mm shall be provided between pipings. CIVIL LOADING DATA CONSIDERATION ‘This section instructs the consideration of chil loading data informed as piping requirements that are reflectedio the civil design. These data consist of long-term and short-term conditions. The actual application and procedure as the lozding data to civil design shall be re-confirmed with TEC at te job execution stage. 10.1. Thermal loads (1) Thermal lads at restraints such anchor, guice, or directional step due to thermal expansion and centraciion shall be informed es long-term corsition.
