Discuss The Policy Implementation Into The Real World

The No Child Left Behind Act aimed to set higher academic standards and hold schools accountable but resulted in unintended consequences. It led to an increased focus on standardized testing, "teaching to the test" rather than broader curriculums, and failing to account for disparities between schools. Critics argue it scaled back important subjects like history, music, art and physical education in high-poverty schools and placed too much stress on students and teachers due to strict testing mandates.

This may be another intro:

In 2002, the No Child Left Behind Act was signed into law by President
George Bush with overwhelming support from both parties. The
principles that influence this law date back to Civil Rights Act of 1964,
which outlawed racial segregation in public schools. The intent of NCLB
was to set higher standards for students and holding schools responsible
to meet quantifiable success.

V. Evaluation and Conclusions

Too many Tests- the number of test has increased
significantly over the past twelve years. Many educators
complain that the level of stress has increased for them
as well as the students, because of the strict mandates
on test scores.
1. Supporters and those who oppose both agree that
the teachers are teaching to the test to ensure that
the students are prepared, rather than teaching
curriculum.
The measurements of the test scores were based simply
on the numbers; therefore it is pass or fail. As a result,
achievement goals were never reached and teachers,
students and schools were pilloried by everyone and
anyone looking for a scapegoat. (Neatoday.org)

2. NCLB failed to consider or ensure the fact that every

child had the resources and the opportunity to
succeed.

3. NCLB forced schools to scale back on the curriculum

and this has meant cutting out History, Music, Art
and Physical Education in high poverty schools. .
Regardless of socioeconomic background, every
student should have access to a curriculum that
fosters creativity and critical thinking
