Anyone Who Speaks The Language Can Teach The Language

The document disagrees with the assumption that anyone who speaks a language can teach it. While many people can speak a language, language is complex and teaching it requires expertise. Teaching language well involves a step-by-step process focused on clear and essential learning outcomes, not superficial instruction, in order to help students master the language. True language experts who understand teaching standards and competencies are best equipped to transfer learning to students.

Assumption: "Anyone who

speaks the language can teach

the language"
By: Neriza Jean A. Genosas

I disagree to the question/assumption: "Anyone who speaks the language

can teach the language", its because language is very complex. Everyone
can speaks the language but not necessarily teach the language. For
example, you know how to speak but you don't know how to teach.
Therefore, it takes an educated/expert person to teach language.

When we talk about speaking, anyone can commit mistakes and wrong
grammar but when it is written it should be accurate and precise.
Teaching and learning process in language is not an easy process nor a
shortcut method. It takes step by step procedure to learn and acquire it.

Furthermore, teaching language should involves meaningful learning so

that it is easy to learn and master. Mastery and meaningful learning do
not result from superficial one-mile-one-inch deep teaching. They are
result of a teaching a learning process that is focused on clear, shared,
essential learning outcomes. These essential learning outcomes are
achieved by learners who are intrinsically motivated to meet high
expectations in an environment which gives expanded opportunities for
learning.

In conclusion, teaching language requires experts to transfer the

learning. The standards and competencies in teaching language should
be teacher's guide in determining what are the learnings the students
should be expected to perform or undertake in order to develop
understanding.
