HMT Dome Construction

HMT is a global provider of aluminum storage tank solutions since 1978. They specialize in geodesic dome designs for above-ground storage tanks. Their dome assembly process involves proprietary 3D design software, automated manufacturing for quality, and a triple seal hub for leak prevention. The construction of the domes begins from the center and progresses outwards ring by ring using lifting equipment like quad pods and chainfalls to raise the structure into its dome shape.

Sheeting of the dome and adding appurtenances as the

construction progresses allows the work do be done at low
elevation, eliminating need for tie off during process.

Temporary half nodes are sometimes used for the final

the dome centered during construction is very important.

Half nodes are removed and replaced with standard

nodes and beams to anchor the dome completely.
This illustrates a sliding mount.
