EVENT PROPOSAL FOR THE NEU FAIR 2017

SINGING COMPETITION
* There are two proposed events that will
substitute/ change the previous singing
competition, formerly called Eraian Idol.
These events will enhance more the contest
by adding a twist to make it more enjoyable
and entertaining to the audience and at the
same time making the contestants more
competitive and creative.

Proposed Events:

refer to the first document that I
posted before)
2. Singing Competition (Duet)

Note: The decision of choosing the event


among the two proposed singing contests
falls under the majority vote of the officers
and it is based depends on the situation
needed and other justifying circumstances.

DETAILS OF THE EVENT PROPOSAL :

SINGING COMPETITION (DUETS)


EVENT NAME
LETS DUET

EVENT VENUE
NEU GYMNASIUM (4TH FLOOR)
This will provide a big space for the event. It
is a perfect place for the conduct of
competition so many students can attend and
watch the said event.

EXPECTED NUMBER
OF AUDIENCE 200-500 PEOPLE
- The seats at the gym and the provided
monobloc chairs placed in front of the stage
can hold 200-500 persons.
EVENT TIME 4:00-7:00 PM

- The singing competition will start at 5


PM. The one hour allotted time will be
used for the preparations of the
contestants, arrival of the judges and to
gather more audience. 2 hours will be
used for the program proper.

Event Details:

DESCRIPTION

The LETS DUET is a singing competition open


for all the students of New Era University who want to showcase
their talents in singing. The performance involves two singers:
maybe both males, both females, and male and female.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

a) Contestants must be students from NEU;


b) Contestants must have the talent in singing;
c) Number of Participants should be two; maybe both males,
both females, and male and female.
d) Any songs will do be it OPM or English Songs except those
songs containing fallacious or obscene languages and are
too daring.

OBJECTIVES OF THE EVENT

The objective of the event is to allow students of NEU to


join the contest and to showcase their talent in singing.
It is to provide opportunity to students in engaging at
the competition to be more active in the extracurricular
activities of the school that falls outside the realm of
normal curriculum of an academic education.
Creativity, sportsmanship and cooperation will be
enhanced to attain better communication and good
relationship among the students and enhancing other
skills of the students.
To increase self- confidence through exposure and
competitiveness among the students.
To increase the number of the students participating in
every event of the school by providing contests that will
allow showcasing their other skills.

MECHANICS OF THE EVENT

Number of Participants should be two; maybe both


males, both females, and male and female.
Participants must meet the requirements of the
competition mentioned.
Participants must register their names and must
undergo auditions and show their performance first
before joining the contest.
They should submit the title of the songs they are going
to perform before the competition to conform of the
limitations set by the university in conducting an event
and to avoid similarities among other competitors.
Changing of the song submitted at the actual event will
be disqualified.
Only one performance is needed.
Period of performance should be minimum of (3) three
minutes and maximum of (5) five minutes
Fallacious and obscene languages contain in the song
and bold and daring acts are not allowed.

Technical Requirements:
Copy of the song should be given ahead of time, one
week before the event (flash drive or cd) to instruct the
operator of the sound system to avoid technical
problems. (Secure a copy of your song/performance in
case there is unexpected happenings.)
Each contestant must supply a good quality CD
recording or flash drive for their performance. Each
contestant or group must use microphones.
Contestants should attach their names on the cd or
flash drive to avoid confusion.

There are three winners: 3rd, 2nd and the Champion, with trophies
as recognition and certificates.

JUDGES PANEL
1. A panel of judges will consist of three or five persons and
must meet the eligibility and skills required by the
organizers.
2. Judges shall follow the ranking system
3. Judges decision is absolute and unchangeable

Stage Rules

Seductive clothes or clothes that are too daring


are not allowed.
Props such as firecrackers, dangerous materials or
the like are prohibited for it will create danger and
injury in the place.
Change costume is allowed as long as the first
sentence of this rule is not violated.
Before the contest begins participants will be
given allotted time for the blockings (ifneeded)

MATERIALS OR TOOLS NEEDED

The following are the materials needed to execute the event:

Stage:

- Tarpaulin for the back drop or curtains


- Elevated stage (plywood or materials of the like to use as
design)

Technical:
- Speakers
- Microphones
- Projector and Wide Screen
- Any other materials used for the sound system

Awards:

- Trophies
- Certificates

School Supplies:

- Ball pen/pencil
- Folders
- Bond papers

Food:

- Snacks for the judges


- Snacks for the organizers
- Refreshment for the participants

Other materials needed:

- Chairs and Tables for the judges and audience
