2. Explain elements of Greek Agora?
3. Sketch the plan of any one ideal Renaissance city.
4. Define urban space of Jane Jacobs?
5. Discuss the role of an Urban catalyst with an example.
6. Define colonial urbanism?
7. Explain Lynch concept of place and genius loci
8. Define urban sprawl?
9. What does sustainability mean in the context of a city
10. What are the main land use classifications for urban areas?

11. Write a detailed note on evolution of urban development in India from the times of Indus valley
to Chandigarh mentioning important city forms like temple towns, Mughal cities, medieval cities,
colonial cities an modern cities with appropriate examples.

12. a) I. What in your opinion are the major issues faced by urban areas in India and what
solutions do you propose for these issues. You may base your solutions on live examples and
quote the same. (10)
II. Explain in detail the ideas behind the design of La Ville Radieuse (6)
