DEFINITION OF TERMS

1. E-fare or Electronic Fare

`Mode of paying for the fare in a cashless way through the help of the

RFID card.

2. RFID

Radio Frequency Identification. This is a technology that incorporates the

use of magnetic or electrostatic coupling in the radio frequency (RF)

portion of the electromagnetic spectrum to uniquely identify an object,

animal, or person

3. GPS

Global Positioning System is a radio navigation system that allows land,

sea, and airborne users to determine their exact location, velocity, and

time 24 hours a day, in all weather conditions, anywhere in the world.

4. GSM

Global System for Mobile communication is a digital mobile telephony

system that is widely used in Europe and other parts of the world. GSM

uses a variation of time division multiple access (TDMA) and is the most

widely used of the three digital wireless telephony technologies.
