Type PGS 24-36 kV

SF6 - Air silicon rubber bushing

General characteristics
A
The PGS bushings can be used as a fixed part for medium voltage input on SF6 gas or
oil insulated machines. It is provided with a coupling interface according to DIN 47636
standard that allows a connection with the relevant movable connectors. It is forbidden to
use the bushing in outdoor applications without the relevant movable connectors or without
the silicon rubber protection (B).

A+B
The PGS bushing with the silicon rubber protection can be utilized outdoor for connections
with bare electrical wire. The PGS can be assembled in any position except for the situation
where the sheds of silicon rubber protection are turned upside down, even if slightly.

Working voltage
Up to 36 kV

Assembling instruction Fig. 1

PGS bushing (Fig. 1 and 2):

Drill the holes on the body of the tank as indicated (9).
Remove the paint, or insulating coat, in the area of the
fixing fastener holes in order to guarantee a correct earth
connection of the bushing.
M oreover make sure that the surface where the bushing

H - 356 mm - Mod. 3000 - 36 kV
holds is without any type of roughness, or unevenness and
it must be perfectly clean in order to guarantee a perfect
tightness of the flat gaskets.
Place the bushing (7) on the metal structure after having
positioned the gasket (8). Place the aluminium flange Fig. 2
(10) inside the tank and tighten the six fixing screws (11)
together with the relevant washers with a tightening force
value of 911 Nm. The tighting of the screws must be done
crosswise. The lower connection to the M10 threaded hole
must be fixed with a tightening force value of 3035 Nm.

Silicon rubber protection (Fig. 3 and 4):

R emove the plastic protective cover (4) from the bushing.
The plastic protective cover must be fitted and pressed
right down on the bushing always when:
the bushing is not connected to the movable connector;

the bushing does not have silicon rubber protection.

of the interface (6).
C lean with alcohol the interface (6) and the area of contact
with the silicon rubber protection (3).
After the complete evaporation of the solvent, spread
evenly over the connection interface (6) the grease
contained in the enclosed pocket (5).
P ull the silicon rubber protection (3) on the bushing (7)
and screw down tightly until maximum torque is obtained
(90100 Nm). This can be done with the aid of a 20
mm spanner used on the top cap (2). The silicon rubber
protection is correctly clamped if the bushing is totally Fig. 4
covered with it.
Turn the silicon rubber protection slightly to the left and to
the right to distribuite grease evenly over the connection
interface (6).
