Mathematics Projects For Class Ix and X For Roll No. 1 To 10-Kepler-Poinsot Solids

The document outlines mathematics projects for students in classes 9 and 10. It assigns different projects based on roll numbers: [1] Kepler-Poinsot solids and their properties for rolls 1-10, [2] fractals and their relationship to mathematics and nature for rolls 11-20, [3] how sextants work and their connection to mathematics for rolls 21-30, [4] how games use mathematical concepts like probabilities and algorithms for rolls 31-40, and [5] the history and uses of pentagrams for rolls 41-50. Students are instructed to research additional details and examples for their assigned topic.

MATHEMATICS PROJECTS FOR CLASS IX AND X

For Roll No. 1 to 10-

Kepler-poinsot solids-
The kepler poinsot solids are the four non-convex regular polyhedral. Each one has
identical regular faces, and identical regular vertex figures.
Examples-
Icosahedrons
Dodecahedron

How it is related to mathematics
Prepare atleast two models on it.
For Roll No.11 to 20-
Fractals-
A geometric pattern that is repeated at ever smaller scales to produce
irregular shapes and surfaces that cannot be represented by classical
geometry. Fractals are used especially in computer modeling of irregular
patterns and structures in nature.

For Roll No.21 to 30-
Sextant
A sextant is a device that is normally used by navigators to help find a ship position in
the sea. The instrument has two mirrors that allow a navigator to see the sun and
horizontal at the same time, and to find the measure of the angle between them. This
angle is always an angle of rite angle.

Playing games:

Almost all of the games we play are based on math in some way or another. Carde
games, board games, and computer games are designed using statistics, probabilities,
and algorithms. Begin by reading about games and game theory.
You can choose your favourite game and investigate the mathematical
principles behind how it works.
In the multi-player game like Dots and Boxes, does the first player have an
advantage?
Invent your own game using mathematical concept.
For Roll No. 41 to 50-
Pentagram:

A pentagram is the shape of a five-pointed star drawn with five straight strokes.
When it was invented and who created its design.
How pentagram helps in connecting mathematics to various fields like religion,
politics and literature.
