Flipped Classroom Lesson Plan

This flipped classroom lesson plan teaches children about the Bible story of David and Goliath. On day 1, students view and interact with video clips, text, or images about the story. On day 2, children play with toys as they arrive, then watch a video about the story. They are split into small groups by grade, where they discuss and do activities related to the story, such as coloring, crafts with popsicle sticks, or writing verses. The groups then reconvene on the carpet, where students share one thing they learned about God and the teacher leads them in prayer. The goal is for children to understand how God helped David defeat Goliath despite the odds.

remember in the video. After they debrief, they will listen to the teacher read them the story
from the childrens Bible. They will then make a craft, which will be a slingshot made of
popsicle sticks and a rubber band. Once they make them, they will shoot cotton ball towards a
nine-foot poster of Goliath like David.
Fourth and Fifth Grade Once you are in your small group you will discuss what the children
remember in the video. After they debrief, they will listen to the teacher read them the story
from the childrens Bible. They will make footprints that are the size of Goliaths feet, and they

will use slingshots and marshmallows that are provided to shoot the large poster of Goliath on
the wall.
