T Beam Cycle Stand Shade

The document provides design details for a cycle stand shade with a 6 meter clear span and 3 meter cantilevers on each side. It specifies reinforcement sizes and spacing for the cantilever slab and mid-span section. The effective depth of the cantilever slab is determined to be 268 mm tapering to 100 mm at the ends. Main reinforcement is specified as 10 mm bars at 140 mm centers. Shear and distribution reinforcement is also specified. Bending moments and section properties are calculated to design the reinforcement.

(A) Design of cantilever slab

For stiffness the ratio of span to effective depth of cantilever = 7
For a balanced design, the percentage reinforcement for m = 20 concrete =0.44% . Assuming pt =0.25
We get, from fig 1. modification factore, using fe 415 steel. = 1.6 \ span/d= 7 x 1.6 = 11.2

and reduce it to 100 mm at ends. Mean thickness of slab( 290 + 100 )/ 2 = 195 mm
keeping 15 mm nominal cover and using 10 mm f bars,
